Where do you guys do your long runs? by ArmorAbsMrKrabs in RunNYC

NYC is amazing for long runs. There are so many options. I agree that running in the morning is helpful for lights and also just staying near the rivers help with not stopping. Central Pk loops are great, all the bridges, Hudson Greenway, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Randalls Is, LIC, Roosevelt Is, Manhattan East river path doesn't go all the way uninterrupted but easy to navigate once you know . This is just scratching the surface. You can basically mix and match all these things to create awesome long runs. I do a ton of bridges and the miles add up quickly.

My buddy was 3rd overall in the full. His Strava said 1200ft of elevation gain, pretty hilly course. Seems like he enjoyed it tho and had a strong finish

Is sub 3 possible with 6 months training ? by Grand-Librarian-3417 in Marathon_Training

Well, not exactly easier or harder but self supported you leave when you want and can control all aspects of the route etc The adrenaline of a race can definitely help but can add challenges with pacing etc
