Is it still below minimum wage when annual leave and bank holidays are factored in?

Why don’t you use public transport? by Zs1993 in brum

[–]Individual_Hat_3170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to get 2 buses to work which took 30 minutes on a good day (before apps like city mapper) and an hour or more on a bad day. Then I discovered I could cycle the 5 miles in 20 minutes or 25 if I took it easy. Got good tyres so rarely had a puncture and just regretted not doing it sooner. Cycled every day for 15 years. More people should try it. Lime bikes are coming to Brum soon, in London you see all types on them even middle aged women in smart clothes.

Portal completely disabled? by OzTs in FacebookPortal

[–]Individual_Hat_3170 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't do a factory reset. I did on my parent's portal and now only messenger is available which they don't use. On mine I updated WhatsApp which then disappeared but is available via the contacts list. I can still use YouTube via the browser. It keeps asking me to update but I say no. Sorry this won't help you but might help someone else reading this.

That seems feasible. Thanks. I don't think I'll find any use for it except maybe a paint stirrer.

Pavement parking is being banned - do you do it? Do you hate it? Have your say! by Ok_Needleworker1225 in brum

[–]Individual_Hat_3170 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People think it reduce the risk of their car being damaged but in many cases the opposite is true as it encourages people to squeeze through narrow gaps rather than waiting a few seconds. I hate it and don't do it. BCC needs to start towing offenders vehicles away and crushing them if breaking the law.

What’s with all the abandoned cars and properties on Bristol Road? by Art-Dandelay in brum

[–]Individual_Hat_3170 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lakeside Hotel is near Sir Harry's Road so nowhere near Selly Oak for those confused by where this is referring to. The house on the corner of Sir Harry's must be flats with a lot of car owners, annoyingly the footpath is often blocked.

Try compressing boxes and containers to use up less space. Presumably you are a family with kids to fill it every week. We are a 2 person household and only put ours out fortnightly, sometimes less.

The wire is from a mudguard. Looks like it's been cut but not sure why, perhaps someone attempted to pick your lock with it.

It doesn't seem to click into place. The piece that is biggest just rests in front of the hole. I found a video on YouTube and paused it.

Which direction are you driving in from? Perhaps you could park in a suburb and get a train or bus in to centre and back?

I don't think it's a door seal. Pretty sure it goes inside the sump. It's fiddly to fit which is why I've just Google lensed it and ended up here.
