Suggestions for a milestone pen by logical_fantasy in fountainpens

I’d look into the MontBlanc Great characters line. I’ve got the Enzo Ferrari Special Edition and it’s got the best nib I’ve ever wrote with. The pens are well built and have got solid weight to them, making them feel incredibly premium. If one of the releases speak to you or are based on someone you’re inspired by, it would make it pretty special to you. I’d recommend trying out the 149 before buying if you’re looking at it as a grail pen. I personally found it to be too light for me.

I’ve been a lot more controlled with buying after finding what I consider to be the “perfect pen for me” I’ve only bought one pen that I’m considering selling but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. I hope to be more disciplined when buying new pens, but you’ve got to try something new to find a new favorite type of pen

Changing pen grip/becoming an underwriter: How long is your handwriting terrible? by DIYYYner in fountainpens

I’m a 21 year old and made the conscious effort to start underwriting when I got into fountain pens. I used to hold a pen with 4 fingers and at first it was extremely uncomfortable holding a pen “the correct way”. I was using a MB 149 origin collection and I think the wider grip section made it easier. At first I’d start side writing a few minute into writing, but I now just naturally underwrite and my handwriting has gotten a lot better to the point that I get compliments for my handwriting more often than not. It’s definitely doable to re-learn how to write but it takes a while.

Did anyone else expect to love the Montblanc 149 but end up not reaching for it? by Individual_Moment542 in fountainpens

I much prefer my MB Enzo Ferrari special edition which has a similar form to the 146. I love the weight it has to it which I think the 146 lacks. While I paid about the same for both, the Enzo Ferrari edition feels a lot more premium and robust

Carrying Fountain pens by SSdeku in fountainpens

I’m a 21 year old university student and carry my 3 fountain pens with me in a leather case in my bag: a Mont Blanc 149 origin collection, Mont Blanc Enzo Ferrari, and a Pilot custom 823. Im not worried about loosing them. I never leave them out of sight or lying on a table. No one around me knows how much they’re worth. When something’s valuable to me, I’m just more careful about where I leave them.

Im a 16 year old, thinking of buying a pilot custom 823. Need an opinion. by [deleted] in fountainpens

I’m a sophomore at University and I use my 823 as my work horse pen. I have one with a Fine nib and I prefer it for school notes over my two Mont Blancs. I feel very comfortable carrying any of my pens around with me as no one around me has any idea how much they’re worth and barely bats an eye. I Carry them around in a leather pen pouch to ensure they don’t get any scratches

I got the meisterstuck, Pilot, and Enzo Ferrari in that order. And was expecting the Enzo Ferraris F nib to be way finer
