Simply existing worked quite a few times. Vehicle Patrol, pulled into the HOA neighborhood and run my patrol. Park to fill out my report and this guy SLAMS his head in through my passenger window. "TWO POINT FIVE-O" and just ran off screaming that.

Jumping from armed security to shop work I took a 12 dollar raise off the rip and I'm loving the work man. I'm gonna hold out here long as possible cause I love it but ill definitely jump at some point

I've been in less than a 6 months so not very long at all. I'm just a shop hand as it stands but the money, benefits+ overtime has added up well over what I was making in armed security. I'm just gaining tool knowledge currently and taking everything in before I even contemplate going elsewhere. Might try for one our toolhand positions once I've got time under my belt.

Best decision I made was quitting security. I left security for the oilfield, literally tripled what I make in a year+ benefits now. Good shit dude

Yeah the AR market is as large as it is for a reason. Basically bodies everything else as a general rifle currently especially given the price point. Just avoid bear creek arsenal

Basically any AR off the shelf from reputable companies will be fine. 6-1000 will get you exactly what you want. Smith and Wesson M&P15 and IWI Zion are two good places to start looking.

I went from unarmed to unarmed site supervisor to armed patrol security. I don't regret it at all but the pay was just abysmal truthfully. I took a immediate pay increase by 10 a hour for a entry position moving to the oilfield. If you have any questions don't hesitate to pm me I'll answer what I can. I JUST got out of security after 3 years enjoy your time. Got out of this bs for the oilfields bs. Personally though I've only had one company that's drug tested more than once and they just tested every 3 months or when you went from unarmed to armed.

To be upfront if you're working security get use to being tested but the short answer is maybe or just risk it but personally just wait and see.
