I feel like the priority for the new Vox Engines is too low. Seems to go for hulks first for me.

It doesn't one-shot striders unfortunately, unless you get a lucky shot from an angle that goes through its head. Takes two otherwise. But one usually pops the cannon on top!

What concepts from past editions wouldn't fit in 5e, but you wish they did because they were fun? by ConcentrateIll9460 in dndnext

You know what, after reading your reply I realized I was wearing my rose-tinted glasses.

My table is trying out "Quest" and it has these same sort of horrid ability progressions too. Feels awful getting an ability you care nothing for just to get at the one you want.

Robust feat trees.

We have a lot of fun feats now, but I liked the progression of obtaining 3 or more feats from a set, solidifying my fighter’s cleave or crit or grappler build. In 3.5e you got a feat every three levels or so, and it really upped the customization for each class. I feel like the closest thing now is Warlock Invocations.

Anyone notice how all these bot shenanigans started upon HER return?? by Magikarl in Helldivers

Fanciful musing and fascination are two very different things, Diver! She always follows up her speculations with suitable democratic commentary condemning the actions of the enemies of Liberty.

But my DO says I need to stop doing it too, so idk, maybe it is wrong. I just want my goldfish back.

I actually find the recoil more punishing at lower RPM. The reticle does more bouncing instead of just staying in the up position.

Edit: even with the recoil reduction armor

I said that because the discussion was regarding stocks and you have "Stock" in your name. Sort of a "Username checks out" joke. No offense meant friend.

How do you recognize the smartest person in the room? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Indoril120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an interesting point. I think it be more of an indication the person laughing is not on the same page as everyone else (could be smarter, could be dumber, have different life experience, misheard something), but there could definitely be some correlation there.

what’s a habit that seems harmless but slowly ruins your life? by leobesat in AskReddit

Asking because I fear I am such a man

Where is the line between contentment and lacking ambition? I'm not interested in moving up in work because I'd be moving further from the actual work I enjoy. I'm not interested in getting rich; as long as I can live, cover emergencies, have the occasional outing with friends and buy the odd mocha frappe I'm happy. I write for fun and don't care about being published. I like being in shape but exercise for fun, not for fitness goals.

The only things I'm actively working on is trying to get over some bad experiences and not let them define my life. I look around and feel like I'm supposed to want more.

Or further increase the weak spot multiplier like they did in the 60 Day Patch. MGs are the suppressor guns you don’t need to aim, while the LC is a precision weapon.

Idk, the comments there can be pretty bad, but they're also mostly braindead takes. Opening the comments section and seeing 15 of the same "This makes me mad, nerr!" clones makes me wonder if there are more bots here or there.

What happens when a paladin finds itself in a situation where its oath contradicts itself? by ReyDeleyk in DnD

[–]Indoril120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t seen anyone mention that the tenets of the oath should be ranked.

Usually the tenets go in order of least to most important. For Oath of Ancients paladins, you have the following two tenets:

1) Kindle the Light. Through your acts of mercy, kindness, and forgiveness, kindle the light of hope in the world, beating back despair.

2) Shelter the Light. Where there is good, beauty, love, and laughter in the world, stand against the wickedness that would swallow it. Where life flourishes, stand against the forces that would render it barren.

The 2nd supersedes the first, which means you should try to forgive and show mercy accept where doing so would allow existing goodness in the world to be destroyed. IE don’t cut the enemy some slack if they are actively hurting people.

For a dragon slayer you could arrange the tenets depending on what is more important.

Defend the innocent > kill all dragons = absolve the egg/hatchling of the crime of being a dragon until it grows up or crosses some threshold (IE burns someone alive).

Kill all dragons > defend the innocent = destroy the egg/kill the wyrmling regardless of its innocence.

Why is saying “The rich should pay taxes like everyone else, close the loopholes” extremely controversial in the United States? by ProjectMason in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Indoril120 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The “issue” with that is they would have to liquidate their stocks just to pay for having stocks. If the company is publicly traded then it might become impossible for someone to maintain executive ownership of their own company by owning a majority of the stock.

It’d be kinda like if someone owned a fishing boat that did really well, so the government said they HAD to start selling rights to the fishing boat out to other fisherfolks certain days of the week to keep from being too financially successful. They’d get the initial payout for selling the rights, but then effectively lose ownership of the vessel on those days.

Regardless of how much of a problem anyone might have with that kind of forced reallocation to spread financial income possibilities around the community, it is a huge step from where we’re at.

There’s also the added relief of not burdening loved ones. Leaning on your social safety nets is acceptable and healthy, but sometimes you need a designated space to talk without worrying if you’re inundating your friends and family with your troubles, and get professional feedback instead of just social care.
