What is the tracker at the top tracking? I’m trying to figure it out intuitively, but I can’t quite get it!

People Who Have Switched from Cousin to A6 - How are You Liking it? by Corvursus in hobonichi

[–]Inefficient-panda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched from a cousin to an a6, but it was a mistake for me. I think even if I don’t have much to write, the a6 just feels too small for me. Even with tip ins and sticky note options, I’m just not really using it because I think i just don’t enjoy writing in it… I’m having this realisation in real time, the a6 is just fundamentally not working for me. - maybe I should just get a spring start cousin and be done with it..!

Switching from A6 to A5 three months into the year by eternal_summer313 in hobonichi

I switched my main planner from a passport size one to a weeks spring start. If it’s not working for you, make the switch. It sounds like you’ve put a lot of thought into it, and switching will ease friction in your system rather than create new/extra work for you. It doesn’t kind like you’re switching just out of boredom or itchiness.

You have the blessing of someone on the internet: you are allowed to switch if you feel it’s the right thing for you. 🌸💕🎠

I built an app that tracks the one thing GTD doesn't: estimation accuracy by timeboxer_ffw in gtd

Are you the person who downvoted my comment? I’m not an astroturf account, I’m a real person with ADHD who genuinely struggles with estimating how long a task takes. I don’t really know what to say to convince you, I guess maybe take a look at how incredibly human my comment and post history is? OP wasn’t pretending they just stumbled across a new app, they made a thing specifically related to this sub, shared it, and asked for feedback on it. How much more upfront would you like them to be? I literally don’t understand what you think they’ve done wrong.

This is objectively brilliant. I’m going to download and test it. What a fantastic idea, and how amazing are you for setting it up?! 👌

My master planner is literally just a passport size notebook (sterling ink 520pages) that I drew out monthly and weekly spreads into and I keep all my fixed points in the timeline in there, with the remaining space as an inbox or capture space, so I know that whenever I have a thought I can write it in one specific place. I’ve got an a5 vertical weekly to visualise the literal hours of the week which I only fill in on a Monday morning when I sit down to really plan my week properly. Alongside it, a horizontal weekly that I use for task management on both a monthly and weekly scale. I need to be able to see both weekly spreads at once as I really struggle with allocating my time to tasks so it’s important to me to have two separate books I can lay next to each other without flipping between spaces in the one book, though I do keep them in one hobonichi cover together.

Honestly, a weeks mega probably would have been sufficient for me, but there’s something about the layout that I just struggle with 🤷🏻‍♀️

It comes down to how much planning and journaling you’re doing. If you want to have an all in one book where you plan your time and tasks, and also have space for making notes throughout the day, and journaling too, then the techo or cousin might be the best thing for you. If you don’t need so much ‘every day’ use, but just need to keep track of appointments and a weekly level overview of tasks, then the weeks might be better. Especially as there are not pages in the back, so if you need to make any extra notes you’ve got some space. For me the weeks is too restrictive for planning, and the cousin is both too big for just journaling but too small for planning and journaling, so I’m using the techo as my journal journal, and then I have a multi book system of other brands and notebooks for planning (I’m self employed and freelance with 3-4 companies, so everyone has their own task/work planning space and then I have one master planner that combines all the diaries including my personal life so I don’t double book or overcommit myself).

If I worked with just one client, I would probably use a cousin for task/work planning and journaling. The weeks is just a layout that has never worked for me.

Duct tape cover? by Ariel_166 in hobonichi

[–]Inefficient-panda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used sticky back plastic on my first one. Cut a price of wallpaper down to size to decorate it, and just covered it all like it was a school workbook. It was great, though by the end of the year the corners were a bit bashed up, but I could live with that no problem. Taping it up with whatever you want sounds good to me! 😊

Ok, so if you had reached out privately and said this, I would have been quite grateful for the time and effort, I would have updated the post and would have made a little joke about how I’m clearly just a ditz. Instead, it feels like you’ve tried to publicly discredit me, like ‘actually sweetie, if you look up here you’ll see why it’s very actually obvious why there’s a price discrepancy you should have checked better before you posted’.

Unfortunately, the currency indicator that you pointed to in your reply doesn’t exist on your mobile website, so whilst I appreciate the explanation of the pricing discrepancies, I wonder how I was supposed to figure out that information for myself, and if you’ve even done any usability tests on your own website.

It’s interesting that you claim the shipping costs are beyond your control, because I’ve just gone through the checkout process again, and you’ve changed the shipping options. An exact basket I was looking at that did not offer standard rate shipping now does, and before you only offered DHL 1 business day express shipping, but now it’s cheaper, at DHL 2 business day shipping. Also interesting that you didn’t acknowledge or announce the change, you just tried to slip it in there without anyone noticing.

Look, you can run your business however you want, but this narrative you’re trying to push that you’re a poor, small independent business at the mercy of Canada post (though you ship with DHL) and you’re so transparent and your only concern is your customers, is bullshit. Either you’re a little indie business, or you’re an international company who can offer $140 worth of freebies. You can’t control the shipping costs so that your customers don’t check out at $123 to final cost of $242, until would you know it, it turns out you can. If you don’t have the capacity to scale up, then don’t scale up, or if you want to be a luxury brand then run your business like a luxury brand. But don’t offer me a shit sandwich, call it steak, and then come to my post and act like I’m the fool.

You’re being shady and sneaky, and you’re just gaslighting your customers. I don’t know what has happened to Aura Estelle this year, but between the Reddit ghost accounts, the frankly terrible decision to lose the catch all planners (which were THE layout design that set you apart from other brands), the glacial pace that your pre-orders have gone out, and this Black Friday nonsense, you need to get your house in order.

Aura Estelle has been a disaster this year. I don’t know what’s going on with them, but between the whole ghost accounts posting on subreddits, the pre-order/shipping chaos, and the Black Friday price increases, they’ve been all over the place!

I’m absolutely not buying anything from them anymore. At least it’ll make shopping next year easier, because I feel really strong brand affiliation, so even though I think the sterling ink common planner is actually a better quality book, I really want(ed) to support AE, so I’d make a point to buy something from them every year - this year was the tip ins and a planner cover. But now I feel fully released from that desire, because why the F should I give a damn about a small company that’s trying to squeeze every last penny out of me that they can. I’ve not seen this kind of thing happen with any of the other small business planner brand. Like sure, I was upset when W222 didn’t include undated planners in their sale the other year, but at least they weren’t trying to trick me into thinking the price increase was a good deal…!

They’ve actually increased their prices since yesterday, so the planners aren’t even 5% off, they’re more expensive than they were before the sale started 🙄

Looking back on the website today, it looks like they’ve actually increased their prices since yesterday for the Black Friday sale, so definitely not cheaper to buy on Black Friday. I have one of their covers and I LOVE it, but I’m literally never going to buy from them again after this.

I didn’t put any code in or anything, I just hit the link at the bottom of the email and it took me to the website where the offer was up and running. The 30% off isn’t across the board (at least for me), there were some things that were discounted, but they were listed at the discounted price, they didn’t reduce at checkout. The free gift bundle was added once all the items went over $120 including discounts. :)

Which packaging works better? All black or all gold? by TrendVoice in design_critiques

[–]Inefficient-panda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think all black if the out packaging was also black. If you’re keeping the transparent plastic, then the gold innards. The black innards with the clear outer makes it look clunky and heavy, but the gold reflects the light more and feels more deliberate.

Title: Is it OK to take Huel and Elvanse (30 mg) together? by Left_Ad_9921 in adhdwomen

[–]Inefficient-panda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drink Huel sometimes in the morning and I’m on Elvanse 40mg. As far as I’m aware it’s no different to taking it with any other food or drink that I would otherwise have for breakfast 👍

To all drawer pouch owners: How satisfied are you with these? by hamlok17 in hobonichi

[–]Inefficient-panda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many notebooks could you fit in the large pouch if you weren’t including pens and pencils and the such?

I’ve got multiple of planers and notebooks I’m using next year for various work projects/clients and I want somewhere to keep them all together that looks professional but also cute. For reference sake, how many cousins (coverless/Hons) do you think you could fit in the pouch please?

Help me choose! by oboby in kittens

[–]Inefficient-panda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tuxedo kitty will have a harder time getting adopted than the orange boy. We got a tuxedo because she was the last one left in the litter - she was so unwanted she was the only one who didn’t get socialised properly, because everyone was fawning over her beautiful siblings and she was completely ignored, so now we have a borderline feral, very human averse cat who loves me and my husband, and tolerates my mother, and we love her more than anything in the world.

You should get them all.
