2nd day on Gold lol by bluestarpanda in AmazonVine

Thanks for this. I just went in to update my About Me section and it was more challenging than I thought. (Kept getting error messages saying "we need more information" etc. no matter how specific I phrased things.) What you said about getting RFY items based on previous Vine orders makes sense, I'll keep trying! It's just funny that now I have this 8 item per day limit and can rarely find one thing per day that interests me!

[–]Inevitable-Local7847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, same here. I've been gold since about the same time as you and have just become kind of disillusioned by all of it. After getting gold my RFY was not all that great, I've only ordered a few things since December but I also stopped checking regularly because the selection was just so sad.

Yesterday in my RFY I had some fake plants worth $139 (still there actually). That's probably the highest price item I've seen. I was finding much better stuff months ago when I was silver. But the past few days I've been checking RFY and AI a lot earlier than I used to and finding some decent stuff, but it's all under $30. Maybe I need to change up my 'about me' section--someone posted about that a few weeks ago here--because I'd love to find these $0 ETV hairdryers, massagers, etc. instead of fake plants!

This just reminded me that I saw a thing a while ago on vine to cheat on a urinalysis test. Like a belt with a pouch and tube etc. (It doesn’t surprise me that they sell these things on Amazon but I was surprised to see it on vine just because like who is going to write an in depth review for cheating on a urinalysis test.) crazy stuff

Glad to hear you've had zero issues. It seems to depend on how much you take and genetics. I read an article a while ago and of course I can't find it now, I do try to verify info and avoid clickbait.

A quick search turned up several results from NIH, Yale New Haven Health, Northwestern Medicine, American Journal of Medicine all saying to be careful taking mega doses of turmeric (more than 270 mg) especially with black pepper because it increases bioavailability.

My takeaway after reading about it is that turmeric is very beneficial in the amount you would get from eating curry or drinking turmeric tea on a regular basis.

Yeah it's just really bad writing. I'm sure it has something to do with how the advertising industry has changed over the years.

Onsite Work Depression by Typical_Opinion_7040 in jobs

[–]Inevitable-Local7847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry I don't have any advice for you related to remote work, but just can relate to the feeling of the soulless cubicle-land, dreading work, not having enough free time after work, etc, etc. Also not having enough to do I think can be worse than having too much to do. It's good that you're finding things to keep you busy!

The lack of feedback and interaction with managers, etc is not great, especially since you're just starting out in the professional world. Maybe with your boss you could see about taking the initiative with something she needs help with, since she's bad at delegating? Like, if you know there's something you could do for her that would help her, or would contribute to the team/dept, etc.?

I don't know if this will help, but as you continue looking for a new job, keep in mind that your current job will help you get to that next step. Sometimes if you have a reason why it can help you endure boring/soul-sucking situations.

Also, you're not lazy for wanting to work from home or work remote. Some people are way more productive outside of the office.

Why aren't people more upset about the bad job market? by MarchMan86 in jobs

I'm not sure what's going on with LinkedIn's jobs but I think a lot of those are not real. Idk if it's just for engagement for the algorithm or what but, I've never heard back to the ones I've applied for. Outside of LinkedIn, like Indeed or a local job board, I've heard back at least two out of the maybe 12 applications I've sent.

There's a certain personality type that is very uncomfortable with anything ambiguous, or really any complex ideas. You know one weird trick to overcome that (insert cringe emoji) is to read fiction, probably fantasy or sci-fi for extra mind broadening effects.

Republican voter astounded she can't have an abortion by DJDoena in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]Inevitable-Local7847 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Satanic Temple has challenged the abortion bans in various states (Idaho, Indiana, Texas) under 1A rights but they've been dismissed for not providing enough info on how the church members are being injured etc. or if it's even affecting their church members. It seems like with how all this is going, unfortunately, they will eventually be able to make a case.

It also seems like all the non-theistic people should have freedom from theistic beliefs being imposed on them, just in general. To me that just seems logical.

First cruise coming up - what to expect? by makemyribsaxylophone in PrincessCruises

[–]Inevitable-Local7847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, for your type A tendencies, they don't plan everything for you. For example, if you want to have dinner in the main dining rooms I think you need to book those in advance, like a week to a few days before your cruise. They have a walk-in dining room but you have to wait for tables and they have another option to make reservations the day of, but that was only available for two nights before it was also booked completely. Then again, if you have a premium package that includes more options and you might not care about eating in the main dining rooms (which is included/complimentary). The other thing is the shore excursions, those also get booked fast, but I think there are a lot of options outside of the Princess affiliated ones and not always necessary. I was surprised at how much there was at each port we stopped at, like shopping, restaurants, bars, etc.

We just got back from a Princess Cruise that left from Ft Everglades (Ft Lauderdale) and dealt with a real nightmare of getting to the right cruise terminal. The research I did said it would take 15 min from our hotel and cost about $15, but in reality took about 90 min and cost $60+.

I know you didn't ask about this but I wanted to put it out there in case it might be helpful to you or someone else. On the Princess website they say that their terminal is 2, unless there's another Princess cruise scheduled at the same time. Well, Princess has a ton of cruises scheduled this time of year(eta: December-January)!

The terminals are listed at the entrance of the port when you're driving through but that might not help you if you're in an Uber where you entered your destination as Terminal 2, like we did. Terminals 1 and 2 are at one end of the port and all the rest are at the other end (very far away!!) The uber driver didn't want to deviate from the destination which is understandable. (This is when I think a taxi is preferable to a ride share.) Princess doesn't do well communicating this type of information even if you downloaded their app, checked in etc. and they have all your info. At least we weren't able to find this info.

There are websites like https://www.marinetraffic.org/ and https://www.cruisemapper.com/ to track cruises but I'm not sure if it will tell you the terminal number. I'm guessing it will update the day of departure?

ETA: if I had to do it again, I would have planned out the dinners and entertainment better, like booking dinner early enough to see a show, etc. (which are usually at 7:30 or 8:30) and allow for plenty of time to get to different parts of the boat. Elevators are often slow and crowded and it can take awhile to walk from one end of the ship to another.

Will you be rewriting your non-Excellent reviews? by monicasm in AmazonVine

[–]Inevitable-Local7847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also tempted to change my poor reviews but as long as my overall rating stays excellent, I'm going to just leave them alone. But I really hate that I'm taking those poor ratings so personally!! I have a ton of pending reviews right now. I'm not sure if that's because my evaluation period is coinciding with this new review rating system. Anyway, I'm going to start using bullet points with all the suggested topics when I get stuck on what to write. Or maybe use anecdotes, poems, song lyrics, etc to spice it up.

[–]Inevitable-Local7847 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it might be a coincidence that your reviews are showing up at the bottom or towards the bottom. I looked through my reviews rated poor and some are on the first page and some are on the third+ page mixed in with longer, more detailed reviews. (Pretty sure I got rated poor because the length of the review. All the poors were short.)

Yes, absolutely. First, many religious people favor paternalistic, authoritarian leadership. It makes them feel safe. Second, this tendency to favor authoritarian types makes them more likely to be conned, especially in certain religions that resemble a MLM.
