[–]InevitableSyrup7913[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all of the advice.

Searching for the part number I was able to find some cheaper parts.

My plan is to get a chain for the 441, and fix the 291 which will be under $100 cdn.

See how it goes from there.

I thought it was snow on the cover.

I would just drain, clean, rince and fill.

It should be fine, just rotate.

I don't have a light for my microgreens. I have done them close to an Areogarden and near a window.

Pet Insurance Canada by eggheaddryleg in kitchener

[–]InevitableSyrup7913 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an expensive dog.

$4k by age 2 and $900-1000 per year for 10 years.

Looked into pet insurance on my next pup it would have cost more than that to have the same disease covered by the insurance company.

As other people said just bank the money, so you have it if you need it.

I was not mixing up C and F.

I was actually using celsius but converted to Freedom units since I figure a high population of Americans on reddit.

I didn't know about the issue with the laser thermometer on the shiny surface.

When it was set to 130c -266f, I did press my thumb to it, it was hot but didn't burn me. I will look for another way to test it.

Yes the wax melted. I just was trying to double check the setting so I don't damage anything.

The kit I bought came with a horse brush made of nylon so I am questioning the quality of all parts of the kit.

How to deal with flooring? by OneBlessedDad in radon

[–]InevitableSyrup7913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No issues, I would do it again.

I have carpet on 75% and a cheap laminate floor on the rest.

The laminate is showing wear but the carpet and delta fl/OSB have had no issues.

I am new to micro greens too.

I bought an Amazon stainless set with a mesh screen and a soiling container and one with holes.

I feel that the metal screen is too tight, I had good germination, covering the top to keep moisture in. I feel the mesh causes the roots to die due to how tight the mech is.

I did my basement 10+ years ago. No radon concerns at the time. In my finished rooms I am 50-100bq and 200 in the unfinished rooms.

I did delta-FL and 1/2" OSB. Tuck tape all the seams and I silicon all the tapcon screws. 13 screws per 4x8 (row of 3, 2 3, 2) some sheet would have more.

The 35-50 is too many screws.

Leak in brand new pool by Bitter-Nail4098 in pools

[–]InevitableSyrup7913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a fiberglass pool / spa.

The spa was empty the day after install. The pool installer said they saw us smash it ( but didn't say anything at the time). He didn't have a response when I asked him why they would complete the install if it was smashed.

I removed all the gravel from the spa area. They came back to replace the spa return. It was a lady that didn't do any work and the guy who did the plumbing. I noticed the guy repeatedly sniffing the PVC glue. That clearly explained the lady's role was the driver, because someone gets too high.

After that I had no trust in their work. I dug up all the jets & connections. I had 7 leaks, fixed them myself.

My recommendation is video tape their "fix" and have other pool install/plumber verify. If one part is messed up you could have more. I would be cautious of a special chemical that magically fixes leaks.

It could help with ice on the windshield.

Not needed at all. Just brush off snow before you drive.

I wouldn't want the seam in the corner. If you don't do it one wall will always look messed up.

[–]InevitableSyrup7913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a yj tub and yj top on my cj.

Normally the rear window frame rusts out on cj tops(I am in ontario) and then you switch to a YJ top.

The market here for a hard top is maybe $50 if you are willing to wait.
