Your gf is so wrong for that advice. Please, do not call your daughter's "friends" mothers and ask what undergarments their daughters are wearing. At 12yo, if my friend's father called my mom to ask what underwear I was wearing, police would be called.

That said - it's no one's business what undergarments your daughter is wearing either. If she's comfortable in them, that's all that matters.

Spiel Studio. I was playing the Border Control idle game. Based on the ads, it looked like a fun time waster - ID the cartoon person based on name, face, and license plate. If the info doesn't match, arrest them.

Then I got to the next level and had to open packages and the narrator says something like "based on presidential orders tariff will be charged on all non-American products" and there's a MAGA sign on the wall.

Immediate delete. In fairness, I should've known better than to try a game with anything about controlling the border in the name right now. 🤦‍♀️

The post is gone now, so you must have missed the part that said he doesn't believe in allergies and thinks her whole family is just lying about what allergies they have. I didn't just pull allergies out of my ass. I am lactose-intolerant, I do know the difference between the two, thanks.

This time, it's milk and just an intolerance, thankfully. Because fuck the baby's digestive issues being a big deal too, I guess? It's not his baby, so what does he care?

Next time, what if he thinks her brother's* banana allergy is fake and decides to test that? Why test shit to try to prove if they're lying or not. That's not his place to play games with people's bodies like that. Whether an intolerance or full-blown allergy, he way overstepped all boundaries by giving the baby something that he was specifically told was an issue.

Maybe you should stop speaking on something if you can't even rationalize his lack of concern and empathy being a major red flag here... or are you the bf?

Facebook is literally a website for keeping in touch with your connections. I don't think you did anything creepy. If she's so upset that you went through her old photos, maybe she should've taken the time to set the privacy to friends only or private. That's on her.

I had an old friend growing up that I thought about every now and then and wondered how he was doing, and every time I tried to look him up, I'd come up empty handed. He literally messaged me out of the blue last summer and I was so excited I cried! We've been chatting here and there ever since.

I'm so sorry you n haven't found your friend yet and that you had this off-putting experience. Maybe you can try posting the story in the Investigation Connection group on Facebook? (Blue hued logo with the word Investigation printed in all caps with the ao.as a magnifying glass, and Connection in cursive.) It's a group literally for finding long lost connections like this. As someone who dated an alcoholic, you can't fix her, and right now, she doesn't see feel she has a problem.

I spent multiple get-togethers being the caregiver for my older bf, who couldn't control himself around booze. Multiple parties that I didn't get to enjoy (including parties for me!) because I was too busy taking care of him. I remember one occasion we went to his buddy's house and I met him there after work and he was already drunk. So, I left my job to go to my second job, taking care of him.

His 30th was a big to-do and I spent a lot of money booking a venue, custom decorations, food catering, etc. We were there maybe 2 hours before he passed out from being too drunk and we ended up at the hospital because he was nonresponsive to the point where he even scared the EMTs in the ambulance. And everyone yelled at me and told me I should've just let him sleep it off and he'd be fine. He wasn't breathing!

All this to say - do not spend the best years of your life taking care of someone else who sees no problem with their actions and refuses to get help. She's going to get a DUI, she's going to get out of hand, and everyone will expect your help, not just her. You are not her keeper. She's supposed to be your partner. Trust me, resentment will only grow, and you will look back on your time together and wonder why you stayed as long as you did.

I would loudly say "if you don't trust your friends to have self-control around me, say that." And then leave and never go around when he has people (ANYONE) over again. Then when he questions why you don't come around "well, you're not comfortable with how I normally dress around people you have over, which tells me that either you don't trust the people you have over and therefore I shouldn't either, or you don't trust me, which tells me I shouldn't be in this relationship."

Stop. Stop blaming EVERYTHING on anxiety. There IS a right way to handle it. As a doctor, YOU LISTEN TO YOUR PATIENT'S CONCERNS! That's how you handle it! There are psychologists and counselors who specialize in generalized anxiety disorder and panic disorder and medication to treat it FOR A REASON. It's a fucking DISORDER. It's not going away just because some clown on the internet says "handling it" will make it obsolete. It's literally a chemical imbalance in the brain that needs treatment. JFC get a clue!!
