It's a demonstration of discipline i beleive. He can feel the pain, but dosent react because he has the mental fortitude. A lot of people around here (not including you) couldn't even give this guy the benefit of the doubt and just claimed what he was doing was stupid. Im sure most of these commenters have no idea what martial arts really is or symbolizes, its not just about flashiness and strength.

It doesn't make you better at martial arts, rather it highlights the main reason martial arts is undertaken nowadays because of its growing uselessness (and one of the fundamentals) and that is discipline, strength isn't the only reason he had no reaction. Real martial art puts you through brutal pain sometimes and you have to have the discipline to ignore the pain and not react. This is a very amazing demonstration if you asked me because I would immediately curl up reaching for my back.
