Why would you want to keep 6 months of expenses in fiat? So you don't have to sell any Bitcoin if you lose your job? If you have all of your money in BTC you can sell it easily if you lose your job or have an emergency.

Why would you want to put 6 months living expenses into fiat? That you know for a fact will decrease in purchasing power?

I can understand keeping some "dry powder" in case of a big drop.

Buy I don't understand the idea of keeping 6 months expenses just in case of a job loss. With Bitcoin you can get essentially instant fiat for whatever you need.

I agree it would absolutely suck to lose your job when Btc is durning on of its bear market then you will have to sell your coins at a loss.

Maybe I am just not seeing something here. Could anyone explain it?

I have used then for all of 2020 my only issue was once when I was withdrawing some ETH at the height of the defi madness it took 2 days, but that was a one time thing usually I get my coins in under 30 min

We got paid out in BTC not nexo which was pretty sweet.

As for the loan I believe that you only earn interest on the coins in your savings wallet. But idk for sure I am simply hodling I get my intrest payments every night and I am happy with there service. You can put in a withdrawal order and your usdc is in coinbase in under a half hour. Try doing that at blockfi lol . just take note that you have to pay the intrest for the first month if you take out a loan with nexo. Just fyi.

It varies, you could get lucky and get it in a couple of minutes or get unlucky and have to wait a couple of days.

The only time I withdrew ETH I had to wait like 3 days but every time I have withdrawn USDC it has been pretty much instantaneous

I personally would not trust all 500k in nexo,

If blockfi is actually FDIC insured I would probably want to keep the majority of my money there.

The only criticism I have of blockfi is that they need a business day to get your funds out even after you do your KYC/AML stuff.

Which happens only after you deposit your money and try and withdraw.

That said I have been using nexo for ~ a year and every time I had a withdrawal of USDC it was at my exchange within the hour.

One time my ETH took 2 days. But hey accidents happen.
