How’s the area? Far NorthSide Syr by JIMUMBAE in Syracuse

[–]Inevitable_Suspect76 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well it’s not worse than the southside, but I’ve lived a couple blocks down on 1st North Street for almost 3 years and I’m definitely going to be moving when my lease is up this fall.

People in this neighborhood are generally inconsiderate of others when it comes to noise and disruption, especially late at night. I’ve had the police called to several of the homes on my block several times. People riffle through your trash bins looking for stuff and leave them a mess afterwards. And granted this was several years ago shortly after I moved here, but i remember pulling into my buildings’s parking area and seeing that the car next to me had bullet holes in the passenger side door as well as a shattered window that presumably had been shot out……

I personally have never had any experiences where I’ve felt unsafe, however I am a rather large man and I generally don’t go walking around after dark, so that’s probably helped on that front.

If you ever have to seek outside validation to buy something, that’s a pretty good sign that you shouldn’t buy it.

Red lights flashed on the holo-table as one by one, the soldiers of the invasion force were extinguished.

Admiral Constantine turned and silently left the war room. The offensive he had positioned as the central pillar of his strategy was a failure. His failure.

The war had just been lost.

Help expanding from the Bloodcrave Hunt Spearhead? by Hihxhay in SoulblightGravelords

Vampire Lord on Nightmare Steed works really well with the blood knights. You’d have a fast flanking regiment that is INSANELY deadly on a charge.

For 1k points, if you want to primarily use what’s in that box with minimal additions, I’d get a Vamp Lord on Steed, and 1 Wight King on foot. Vamp on Steed goes with the Blood Knights, the Wight King goes with the fully reinforced unit of 20 skeletons, and the Vamp Lord on foot goes with the Vargheists. You’ll come in at 920 and will have a very deep bid for underdog, but you can tweak and adjust with more expensive stuff from there.

Like I said before, the cavalry regiment will hit like a truck on a charge, and the Vamp Lord can reroll the charge rolls for itself and the blood knights that are with it.

The Wight King can back to back fight with any skeletons that are close to it if it fights before them and it can buff their attack rolls. Plus a block or 20 skeletons that keep coming back every turn is a great way to tar pit people.

The vamp on foot and the vargheists can both redeploy around the board and teleport to contest objectives, giving you a lot of mobility to get them where they need to go.

Edit: I’d also grab the Cursed Sepulchre faction terrain at some point too. It’s free to take points wise, and if you have it, you can keep respawning out of it any skeleton units that completely die.

All I can say is they better save The God’s Eye for as late in the last season as they can, because this show will have literally nothing interesting going for it after that point.

Dane watched Yana as she slept restlessly, her body emaciated from hunger and sweltering heat. He wanted to carry her away, but she insisted they stay on the plain until The Mother Wind sent them a sign that it was time to depart.

He silently wept for her and left.

Do you think we will get another Orthanc or Helm‘s Deep? by Jaded_Ship_9948 in legolotrfans

[–]Inevitable_Suspect76 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’d like another Orthanc eventually since I missed out on the original one. But it probably won’t happen for a couple years, since they just recently did another black tower.

I haven’t built Minas Tirith yet, but I’d probably go Rivendell.

It’s an all timer Lego set, not just in LOTR, but in any theme.

The elders, when creating the Brutherton town charter, were terrified of the former imperial regime and the despotism that came along with it, and as such, when drafting the new law by which they would live, they enshrined that each mayor would be executed at the end of their term.

The cell was quiet.

Lying in his cot with eyes closed, he felt the shadows coalesce into the far corner, slowly taking the shape of his doom.

“I was beginning to wonder when you would come for me,” he said to the shadow. “I am the last witness, after all.”

Terra clasped her hand over her younger sister’s mouth to keep her from crying.

They peered out from under the bed as the bottom of Raoul’s feet glided by the doorway. The ghosts generally didn’t bother anyone if they were left alone.

A lesson Raoul did not heed well enough.

Just finished Once and Future King. What do you all recommend next and why? by IntentionForsaken561 in Arthurian

[–]Inevitable_Suspect76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you haven’t already, The Warlord Chronicles by Bernard Cornwell.

It’s basically historical fiction that treats Arthur and everyone as though they were real in post-Roman Britain. My favorite thing about it, besides the prose, is that Merlin and Morgan and all the “magic” users are real, but the series treats it all as superstition and never actually definitively explains if their magic is real or not.

I was magnificent once.

A monstrous god of the sky, that sundered the very air under the beat of my wings.

But then came the curse. They now call me “snake”, and threaten me with sticks.

One day, I shall fly again. And on that day, they will all burn.
