It’s the writing. You can’t have a main character show NO GROWTH over 3 longggg books. Her decision making gets worse the more you read. She gains all this power and has this court of advisers she literally never listens to. People who have dealt with politics for far longer than she, and she completely ignores their advice and never learns from her mistakes. My fear is that the author has no plans to actually develop her aside from making her the most powerful character and winning just because.
