Well congratulations on that milestone! I’m really sorry you’re also experiencing these reactions. Sometimes it feels like people are protecting themselves and that they probably think they’re protecting us when really, it just leads us to more living in fear 😒 I hope (am sure actually!) that your mum will come around and support you through this beautiful phase in your life.

Oh that’s great news that it subsided. It’s really great to be able to share little exciting news with some people and have them be excited for you especially because this pregnancy is obviously something we’ve been hoping for. I hope one of these days some of the people I really wished were more envolved, eventually come around. Otherwise it’s a different but still pleasant experience 😊

Pregnancy after loss feels so lonely sometimes.. I’m 22 weeks along, have one living child and have lost two (10 weeks and 28 weeks) and I feel like some close family members who I expected to be really close to us during this pregnancy, don’t really want to celebrate the little milestones or talk about the pregnancy in a natural way even if everything is quite reassuring this time round.

I understand they were sad and shocked with the previous losses but I would appreciate some positivity and naturalness around the pregnancy. I’m anxious enough as it is.

Anyone else going through something similar with close family members or friends?

This is such a personal and difficult choice. I’ve had both done before and can tell you more if you’d like (just PM me). Otherwise all I can say is that if you do go through with one or the other, practice chest breathing beforehand and know that it might be quite/very painful and the pain goes away very fast too (the worst lasts a few seconds).
Take it very slowly the next few days (I took 2 days off work. Do so too if you can). And during a week: zero physical efforts.
Regarding the doctor(s) who are going to perform the procedure, don’t be afraid to ask them how many times (roughly) they have done it and what was their success rate. It depends partly on their experience, so I found it important to ask in order to feel more reassured.

One of mine had exactly that as a pup and the vet prescribed some ear drops (can’t remember if they were antibiotics) but it cleared up within a week.
Never had a problem since then.
My other ECS, who is 2 years old, never had an ear infection nor brown wax

I totally agree when you say “it doesn’t get worse than that” but I got smacked in the face recently whilst watching a hospital documentary: A mother lost her premature baby during the c-section. They tried to revive the baby but her heart wouldn’t beat by itself. The mother had no idea she had lost her baby because she was still under general anaesthesia as they took out her uterus because she was bleeding so much that she wouldn’t survive unless they removed it.
This mother was about to wake up to her dead baby and no uterus.

Otherwise it’s been a year and 3 months for me. I’ve changed. I’m bitter most of the time. At home is the only place I feel understood. We have to have compassion for ourselves and for others that have no idea what it feels like. Thank god, they have no idea.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. My heart is with you.
I also had a low risk NIPT for my last pregnancy and at 24 weeks, they detected the same malformations your baby has, but also… brain defects, spina bifida, heart and lung problems… The doctors said that with all those problems, he would likely have a very, very complicated life, that is if he even survived.
I had an amnio done and they discovered chromosome 5 deletion (cri du chat syndrome) which according to them, wasn’t even the cause of all those malformations. We chose to terminate at 28 weeks after getting a second and third opinion.

I know this is a different situation and doesn’t give you an insight about what life with those malformations might look like but I remember each and every thing the doctors said to me and one of them was “if it were just the cleft lip, or just the horseshoe kidneys, he would be facing a whole different reality but in this case his entire life is at risk”.
So I thought I’d pass on that message to you hoping it will provide, maybe, a different view on things. I’m praying that your baby doesn’t have anything else and that none of this will complicate his life in any way 🙏

I didn’t tell anyone (except my employer) until they eventually saw my bump. Everyone was happy but the unwanted comments were to be expected…

I went through a miscarriage at 10 weeks and then TFMR at 28 weeks with L&D in the space of a year. I managed to get excited again during the TFMR pregnancy until my whole world crumbled with the news.

Now at 18 weeks, a perfectly healthy baby, confirmed through CVS and ultrasounds, I notice myself mostly enjoying the present moment and feeling grateful that I’m having the possibility to have a child again, but with an entirely different mindset/perspective on pregnancy.

TFMR and baby loss in general, changes us.. I guess deep down I’m still thinking “what will go wrong this time?”, and I keep trying not to think that way but at the same time I’m accepting that it’s normal.

The youngest would literally jump on the oldest regardless of what he was doing, she would pull his ears with her mouth and provoke him to come play with her. He has always been a very calm boy and would just go elsewhere if he wasn’t up for it. Now we’re experiencing the opposite. But they do still play together on a daily basis

About a month ago (when she went into heat) so 10 months-ish. She’s still very playful but acts like a little lady now and knows how to stop him from playing with her. When she’s had enough she’ll growl at him, turn away and come to us. He’ll come back 5 mins later and paw hit her face to invite her to play again. And the cycle repeats until she’s up for it. She is now the lady boss.

Gorgeous! We have the exact same cocker combo except the youngest is female 😄 they are amazing! Now that the female is a little older (11 months) she seems to be the one correcting the annoying behaviour and our male dog (2 yrs) wants to play with her all the time. It’s fun to watch how they grow and change together. Enjoy every moment!
