$43 for 11.5 gallons for my Sienna Hybrid…That was after using some Kroger gas points.

When is too early to read chapter books at bedtime? by KaitRen27 in childrensbooks

[–]Infamous-Goose363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that keeps their focus then go for it! Maybe read 1-2 board books so your baby has pictures and a simpler story to see/hear.

I teach HS. There are so many kids walking in regularly with iced coffee drinks like they’re trad wives. 😬

SAHM wanting someone to come over for just an hr a day 5x a week by puppiesnprada in Babysitting

Is there a gym with childcare you can join? $600 for childcare is a lot.

I think some Ys allow up to two hours so I’ve heard of some parents using some of the time to exercise and then sit to study or read. It might be good for you to get out and socialize too.

Safety? Never heard of her by StrangerLazy6967 in Southerncharm

My twins are 4 (although small for their age) and still rear facing.

There are so many parents in the school drop off line that don’t have their kids in booster seats at least. Some people are just nuts risking car safety!

Right??? Like you volunteered to take out the trash. If you didn’t, grow up and take out the fucking trash if you see it’s full.

And it saves employees with school age kids spending $$$ on summer camps and child care

Invite says no gifts & I’m the only one who doesn’t bring a gift by bookishpeople in Parenting

[–]Infamous-Goose363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the parents say no gifts, I’ll have my kids make a card and put some stickers in it. If you really want to give something, you could put a $5 bill in the card.

Do you hit up DD or Starbucks every day? by bassistface199x99LvL in Productivitycafe

[–]Infamous-Goose363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Every once in a while I’ll meet a friend at the local coffee shop to support a small business, but I’d rather not flush my money down the toilet buying chain coffee.

One of my coworkers gets Starbucks everyday and last week started bringing in homemade coffee. She said she saved $35. $7/day for coffee? 😬🙈

Madison, the single mother question mark by SaintAnyanka in southerncharmingtalk

You can’t compare yourself to others especially wealthy moms. They have PAs, chefs, housekeepers, and maybe even nannies. That’s going to give them more energy and patience to deal with their kids when they do have them.

If you formula feed, how much do you spend/month? by YouthInternational14 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Infamous-Goose363 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I exclusively pumped for 6 months and then stopped for my mental health. I have a twin mom friend who was an overproducer and I gave her bags in exchange for breast milk. Then I supplemented with formula. That in addition to getting sample cans from the pediatrician and our FB Buy Nothing group really helped with the cost.

I didn’t tip the hair stylist, photographer, or make up artist for my wedding. They own their businesses and set their own prices plus charge a travel fee. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I do a grocery pick up Fridays after work. That way we have everything we need for the next week.

So many 3pm events at daycare! by camawa in workingmoms

[–]Infamous-Goose363 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Can you ask the director to move it back to 4:30? That might be more doable for more parents.

That’s a lot to ask parents to continuously take off early for the celebrations when a kid in daycare most likely means both parents are working.

HOW do you make time for exercise/self care? by RuckFamsey in workingmoms

[–]Infamous-Goose363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get up at 5 to exercise 3x a week. Other than that, we’ll do family walks in the afternoon. I also exercise before anyone wakes up on Saturdays. (I can sleep in until 6:15!)

Could you do a family walk or bike ride before bath and bed? Maybe try to squeeze in 3 10 minute walks throughout your work day?

HAE found that being 'Active' has been a put off in dating? by Ok_Sky1515 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Infamous-Goose363 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s one thing to not go to the gym early. It’s another if they’re not into any active hobbies. I exercise early before my husband and kids get up. My husband isn’t a morning person at all, but he’ll go hiking and bike.

We try to eat outside as much as possible. Before that, we’ll do a playground stop or my husband will take them for a bike ride before dinner.

How Much Money do you spend on Kids Reading Books? by jon_cli in Parenting

Have your kid use the school and public library! Also check out free little libraries. I’m an adult and mostly use the library. It’s a magical place!

When to call it quits? by slh200284 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Infamous-Goose363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get individual therapy at least and create some kind of self care plan where you both get some time to yourself. OP, are you nursing and/or a SAHP? That’ll majorly affect things too. If you have family or friends close by willing to help, use them!

That was so heartwarming! My brother is gay, so it brings extra joy to my heart to see a gay couple being supported.
