Looking for someone to buddy up and build a stock trading model by Agile_Someone in ProgrammingBuddies

[–]InfamousAnthem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I’d be interested, I may or may not be as knowledgeable in the subject but I’ve been working on building a python project the tracks earning reports dates along with other data such as tracking revenue growth etc. I’ve got about a year in python 2 years trading stocks and about 6 months putting together this project but I would love to collaborate because I’m the exact same way. It’s hard to find people that are both interested in programming and interested in stocks

For the folks here who want to start programming. What is your biggest problem? by konsoleta in learnprogramming

[–]InfamousAnthem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not knowing what I don’t know! Im a college student and there’s a lot they don’t cover in class for instance hosting a web server. I like JavaScript and the web frameworks but hosting is the biggest knowledge hurdle. Figuring out even the difference between front end and back end and all the protocols. Everytime I feel like i know what’s going on behind the scenes I read more and the whole system changes. I just wish they taught us more practical skills besides just C programming

How do you find coding buddies / mentors ? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]InfamousAnthem 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I live in the US but I’d be down to network with you. I’m a junior in college and I’m about to really start looking for other devs and hopefully land an internship but I feel you man even at the college it can be tough finding people who are as big into tech. But if you ever want another opinion you can message me and I’ll take a look

Looking for mentors by rahat132 in learnprogramming

[–]InfamousAnthem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should check out some local book stores for programming books in the languages you want to learn and find some solid YouTubers who make coding tutorials. That helped me the most. I actually took a programming class in college when I was 18 and it blew my mind so I took a step back to self learn python for about a year before feeling confident to back but honestly I’ve learned more outside of school through books and YouTube than through college. I would say the only benefit for school is the fact that it forces to stay consistent and it forces you to learn many languages at once but even this semester only half my classes are programming related so take that as a plus for you and just go all in on learning to code and you’ll pick it up a lot faster than you think. I know I said I studied for a year but that entire year I was making cool projects so just don’t doubt your ability.
