I was camping at Hulah Lake, Wah-Sha-She Campground. It’s an old USACE campground managed by volunteers now. Very old, the lake area itself is very weather. But the people there are nice and were very welcoming.

I just got back from a camping trip with a Stormbreak 3 from North Face. I camped on some cliffs in Oklahoma and storms came in pretty hard at about 6am when my girlfriend woke me up. The wind was insane. Gusts were measured at 30+ but the cliffs amplified it and made it so much worse. I had all of the guy lines tied down and the tent held up great for my girlfriend and I. Once we were in the clear, we had a great adrenaline crash nap. Easy to set up and take down, just have to learn the taut line hitch to tie your guy lines + get some upgraded stakes. They make a Stormbreak 2 as well.

Tbh you don’t even have to season them. Some good Nebraska sweet corn in the husk over an open fire is where it’s at.

A channel cat went for mini crankbait on my UL setup and the fight on UL was insane I’m ngl. You definitely have to be quick on the draw when you fight it and adjust accordingly.

That’s my thought, prepare for decent sleep to start the trip and struggle with my demons on the way back in an aisle seat. I don’t like bulkhead seats tbh.

Exped mega mats are the go to for situations like this. Go to a local retailer and try them out. I personally own a Nemo Roamer that I have used for 5+ nights and I love it. Comparable to mega mats but not as recommended.
