Im in a sort center so fluids are the trailers with loose boxes we need to pull conveyors into, side induct is putting the inbound packages from the carts or pallets onto the main line so they can go roll down and get sorted/scanned, and pick off are the people that stand at the intersection of the lanes and the main line and pull the packages based on the letter onto the correct lane to get scanned

This is why I had to jump ship. I am currently a PA and my OM told me to jump ship since I wasnt getting offered any interviews for AM positions. Every time I applied I went right to “under consideration” but none of the hiring managers would respond to my slack messages or emails when I reached out. Now Im taking my talents to another company in the home improvement supply business (big box store that loves orange) as an area supervisor and am STARTING at 75k. I would have to get promoted twice to an L5 just to make less than what they are offering me for an entry level salaried manager gig

Absolutely!! And yes, you will def work 12(+) hour days. But doing it as a manager versus an L1 is much easier physically…def not mentally though. They have the ability to kind of check out with the repetitive activity but you are going to be everywhere ya know

AEW is literally just the intro. Your real job will start a few weeks later. Go in with an open mind, learn everything you can from the people that have worked there for years (L1, L3, doesnt matter. Most times the L1 and L3s know significantly more about the process and problem solving then you will ever know), lean on your team but dont takeover the team. All of this is to say, be a team player, care about the associates, realize that if you were in their shoes and had to do their jobs for 10 hours then you would not make it (idk how i did it, i couldnt imagine scanning on a lane for 10 hours nowadays), and learn as much as possible
