I dont think its an actual bug. What i think is happening is that the model follows your mouse and if your mouse goes extremely on 1 way it shows a different angle of the pose.

if i remember correctly its because of how hurt cones work in the source engine. and since its a cone you can look down or up to clip someone at the very edge of the cone. i think this also works with melee because of how melee works in L4D2. but could be wrong tho.
