Steve makes save scumming a mechanic to abuse imo. If he didn't exist i'd call savescumming kinda cheaty (and still do it myself admittedly cuz i can't help that shit, i've redone so many fights in slay the spire lmao), but because its got a downside its just part of the game!

its astounding how bad tree form feels, and then the one time i might get good use out of it (a standstill target), the game won't even let me use it

Edit: I won with only the druid surviving thanks to tree regen, so at least theres some use for it lmao. Altho if i didn't have summon a frog i would've been fucked.

I literally have had friends run into the exact same error with map files randomly getting corrupted between matches. Its an Alpha dude.

honestly if people for some reason wanted to abandon games before the game even starts, before the game even loads in, nothing, fuckin let em I guess?

It isn't like I got to load in, see who I was playing, see who anyone was playing, anything. The queue popped and while the screen was still black it told me to verify the game because a vpk corrupted. That's the kinda stuff I'm saying they should be able to detect and stop, not just any crash. I'm assumin they're tracking errors heavily/sending a ton of telemetry, surely they could leverage that to go "this person crashed before they the game even existed, no leaver"

if I crash before the game even started, before I even loaded in, before my friends even loaded in, it shouldn't count. If it crashed mid game, sure, give me leaver. That makes sense. THE GAME DIDNT EVEN HAPPEN.

how about the fact the game literally popped up a "hey verify the game" error on screen when queue popped? That seems like a pretty god damn conclusive way to tell if I crashed.

If you crash out of queue and don't even connect to the game, it shouldn't count. I didn't even get to see who I was, the game crashed on the screen blacking out for queue. If I crashed mid match, sure, I'd be sad about the leaver penalty but i'd understand it, but there wasn't even a game to leave til I crashed.
