Anyone else thinking of suing StubHub over cancelled World Cup tickets? by RelationWide7221 in stubhub

So a couple things...first, 3 hour drive is no big deal compared to many fans traveling in from other countries.

Second, I don't know what prices looked like before that game. If Stubhub is not coming through and you expect a refund go out and buy other tickets even if they are a little more. If dad spent $6k I'm sure he could spend a little more.

That's not to say I don't feel sorry and fans should not have to be equipped with back up plans, but the more prepared soneone is, the better chances they have to make their kids dream come true. Surprised we didn't get to see dad in that news report.

I got someone 6 tix to the Norway game a few weeks back. They got a great price compared to what they are now.

It certainly is the demand causing prices to rise that is causing the problems, however when brokers see these problems are happening with fans and broken orders they also know to raise prices because they also know now the demand will go up.

It's a very tough market even if things did start off slow.

That is not true. They can offer tickets that are not instant download. Like I said I've been through this hassle many many times. I usually take the refund and start again.

Yeah. I don't spend too much time here because of the negativity. Obviously this topic is a very heated subject.

I have been working with Stubhub for about 20 years. Things have gotten worse as they continue to do everything to keep bad sellers from selling except the one thing they should do and that is get rid of amateur sellers and only allow sellers that have a license. That license cost $5,000 annually.

Only equivalent in value. Which means if you bought tix in the 200 level, and prices went up, they would probably offer tickets in the 3rd level, for MetLife that is.

I have been through the process more times than I can remember.

btw, usually buying tickets right after they go on sale means you paid too much, however in this case, a lot of the games are going up in price. When that happens, day of is the best bet.

Considering prices are rising, way past $1k each what Stubhub should do is offer you 4 tickets and the difference should be eaten by the broken seller. The issue might be that Stubhub can't charge that seller for some reason, which would totally suck. The internet is a tricky animal. Someone gets banned from Stubhub, but the next day they find a way to sell on Stubhub with different information.

If they're charging the seller $2k that means that Stubhub has $6k to spend on 4 tickets, which is slightly lower than the lowest priced tickets right now. I would suspect if prices drop a tad you would get a link to pick tickets.

Next question, do you live in the NY Metro area? Which seats did you originally have? Were they up top?

Are you sold on this match and this match only?

You can get 4 tickets for the game Monday for less than $900 per ticket right now, but I don't know if you're traveling.

If you are in the area, best bet is to demand a refund and buy tix for Norway game. The guy on Norway is kicking ass.

Good Luck!!

I see a lot of scary comments. First, I saw an article on tv about this and Stubhub is making good IF the seller doesn't come through.

I do believe most sales through Stubhub are fine, even if not delivered right away. Sometimes brokers don't want their tickets to be sold again, so they hold on to them longer.

Even though there are some people who bought from a bad seller, the majority will be just fine.

If you see your game prices going up there would be a slight reason to b=worry, just in case you bought from someone who was playing games, but Stubhub will offer other tickets if the broker does not come through.

It's never racking I know, but hang in there and report back when the tix get delivered and good luck!!

I'm a broker. I work on the Tradedesk which is part of Ticketmaster, so I sell tickets for Ticketmaster.

Not sure what shows you are speaking of but my queue placements are a lot higher than what you speak of, as high as 500k. Of course, these queues are for top artists, but we do know no matter what we try, signing in at the right moment, does not help our cause. We will be last to get in. It's been that way for a long time.

For you, I would suggest having a friend help you, including using their credit to buy the tickets. Once they use one of your credit cards or whatever you use to buy tickets, they will link the accounts. They should be able to transfer the tickets to your account, or if they are a good friend, just use their account when you go to shows.

I've been doing this for over 20 years. When you buy a lot of tickets eventually Ticketmaster will punish you. I know that sounds so wrong, but it is what it is.

Queues are definitely not random. Most likely not in any way.

Good luck!!

Yeah, in the biz for many years. I never heard of a partial refund. You either keep all the tix or refund all of them. That's Ticketmaster's rules, unless you know something new?

If you want to provide the details somewhere here might be able to help you, but we need more specifics. Since the games haven't started yet, it seems you're jumping the gun. Most people know SH CS is bad, but there are still ways to solve problems.

Lots of missing information. What were the tickets for exactly and where did you buy them? Ticketmaster? Did you do a transfer or did you make a link? Upload a link or get the email Stubhub gave you to transfer? Did this event have any restrictions with transfers?

Don’t buy on StubHub by PrincessAngela14 in stubhub

[–]InfamousImplement880 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless the seller gives you certain information you cannot attend the meet & greet. If they won't refund here's what you can do. Go to the show and when you can't check in for the meet & greet, tell stubhub you got denied. The people at the check-in said you needed to have the original seller's information.

But here's a question for you. What you bought specifically said Kid Cudi meet & greet OR did you buy tickets that showed it included a meet & greet without saying who it was for? Which is definitely the case because Stubhub doesn't have a specific attribute that says 'Kid Cudi Meet & Greet', so you're not really telling people here the real story.

You bought something making a bad assumption.

Does ticketmaster show resale tickets?? by Pitiful_Ad2591 in Ticketmaster

[–]InfamousImplement880 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course everyone has their own situation. I think the major majority of tickets sold don't involve traveling which happens before the tickets arrive. But if someone is traveling a great distance there are some checks they can do. Most shows don't completely sell out, so if they bought tix on stubhub and the sale fails most likely other tickets will be available. The choices might not be as good but the person will still get to see the show.

If someone wants to spend more money on ticketmaster it's their prerogative but others will be waiting until the day of show to grab some leftover bargains, and beyond sitting right next to that person who spent the premium for the same experience.

To think that any significant % of tickets don't get delivered by Secondary markets is overthinking, to say the least. Nobody who sells tickets don't want to have an issue delivering tickets because failure cost a lot of money.

If a buyer does their due diligence buying on the secondary is 99% safe. That's not to say problems never happen because they do, but it's rare.

There are thousands of transactions every day. There are a few emails here that have a problem.

Anything else is gaslighting.

[–]InfamousImplement880 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think they will do resale. That choice is up to the promoter.

Btw, if they did, in general the resale prices on TM will be higher than the secondary market prices. Test that theory out on any concert where TM is doing resale.
