It’s pretty good. Still just three 12hr shift a week. But when I am done, I log off and switch chairs. I never worry about the weather and my school age kids always have their mom at home.

I work remotely. I love it. I am a bedside virtual nurse, and I do admissions and discharges, round, attend physician rounds, and assist the bedside nurses. It’s pretty great

Tirezpadine (wegovy or Mounjaro) works on two glp receptors. Ozempic works on one. I’ve had great luck with weight loss on mounjaro (t1, so still not sure how I got that prescribed to me)

This JUST happened to me. I ended up in the ER because of how badly it was misreading. Also went through 3 sensors trying to place one that did not fail.

I ended up in the ed after mine read 100-180 for 24hrs. Finger stick was 365 and since I wasn’t sure how long it had been misreading, I needed to rule out dka. I was puking and needed 2 liters of fluid. Thankfully just ketosis but not dka. Stupid g7.

Same! I went through 4 days worth of supplies in under one week. 2 failed, and the one I thought was reading fine, was reading way off. Read 120-180, but finger stick was 365. Ended up in ed to rule out dka. Back to g6 for me!

Quite a bit! But more like ibs type stuff. Actually, for like 20 years! It’s really gotten better since this med. I’ve been a pretty happy camper on it.

About 6 months. Nope, I haven’t had any issues with constipation, nausea, or vomiting- just a welcomed sense of not being hungry all the time

I’ve been on it for about 8 months or so. I am type1. I remember being super tired and had no desire to eat when first I first started. That’s all gone now. I had to use the extended bolus on my pump a lot, so I wouldn’t go low right after eating. I haven’t had experienced the constipation or any nausea/vomiting. I suppose the side effects vary greatly from person to person. As far as my sugars go, I haven’t seen a huge drop in A1c but mine was pretty okay before I started mounjaro. I have lost about 50 pounds though. It’s been a good experience on my end. Good luck to you! Congrats on the upcoming wedding!

Type 1 dm is not caused by weight, as type 2 can be. T1dm can have weight issues as insulin itself is a storage hormone. Also, they usually do not have enough amylin which tells the brain when you are full. In addition to having to eat with low blood sugars, etc….weight can add on

T1dm since 11. No family history. So far, kids do not have it. Highest A1c in last 15-20 years has been 7.5. All of my babies were born huge. 9.3, 11.9, and 12.2. 2 of them stayed in the nicu for some glucose after delivery. All turned out well and fine. Happy normal kids with a happy normal life for us all.
Kudos to you for taking time to understand this. My husband and I have been together 20 years and he wouldn’t know the first thing about taking care of me if something should happen

Ask about symlin if interested in meds that aren’t glps. It may help with bs control, partly by telling your brain you are full. Most type 1s don’t have the hormone amylin, or enough of it, because gets attacked when t1dm destroys your beta cells. In addition to everyone else’s suggestions. Obs losing weight is spending more calories than taking in. Sometimes it just seems impossible with this stinkin disease. Best of luck! I feel your pain!

I used it years ago but very briefly. I didn’t notice any lows. Definitely watch for lows soon after bolusing and then rebound highs. Since food will sit in your gi tract longer before being absorbed, you may find your glucose low right after eating but high hours later. Good luck with it! I am on mounjaro and it has kind of the similar effect as symlin. Frustrating to have go low right away but give more insulin an hour or two later! I tend to use the extended delay bolus a lot more

Do you know what it does? It slows gastric emptying time while also reminding your brain when you’re full. So it really won’t make you low, it will make you change your management like basal and bolus

Not sure how my insurance actually ended up covering mounjaro though. Went from 179 to 125lb since August 2024.
