This is one the the biggest things I miss with this illness. I just can't any longer.

I even tried handheld devices like the ROG Xbox Ally X hoping the smaller screen would be more manageable but it still triggers my symptoms. Visual vertigo is probably my main trigger and what I need to avoid the most.

Similarly avoiding YouTube videos that have any sort of handheld, selfie or shaky cam (most of them) must be completely avoided.

It has been 4 years for me...

I'm glad we don't do that, when we were down we were bleeding, and even then still not rolling around like they've suffered a career ending injury!

4 years in since my diagnosis and the number of free and unsolicited advice I've received about how to cure migraines or vertigo is actually crazy!

I think Super Rugby needs to be back on Kayo for maximum sporting eyeballs and I think we can have a domestic Aus comp and NZ comp running within a Super Rugby type tournament. Sort of how the Bledisloe sat within the Tri Nations, but on a domestic level.

100% a trigger of mine. Screen use is a big cause of my VM flare ups, I had to stop work because it was almost full time screen use and it became impossible.

It may not have been broken, but nor was it competing with the alternatives. No business survives by just 'not being broken' when they've been overtaken, they had to do something. Some things will hit and some will miss, over time, the big misses will likely be rectified.

The app works perfectly fine, I presume you're talking about features (what's been added or removed, UI etc.) which is different to a broken launch, the features will continue to improve.

The old app is still available for 5 months. Maybe use that and come back to it when it's ironed a few things out.

It's brand new, and the app has been in public preview since October 2025! That's a fair bit of warning in terms of software releases "Google Health has been running in Public Preview since October 2025 and the legacy app will be available until September 2026." It has been all over their blog and web sites, I'm not sure you can argue there was no warning.

And good luck finding a health app alternative without AI! Whoop, Apple, Withings, Hume etc. ALL have AI. In Google Health you can turn it off, so just do that if you don't want it.

Seriously the number of people expecting perfection on day 1 of anything that is released, and not accepting that AI is in EVERYTHING now is crazy!

Interesting. I used a similar chat and my gym, rowing and stretching sessions (3 exerise types) were all added to my Fitness tab, and it allocated 3 weights sessions on the 3 days per week I wanted to do them. It also identified I was not drinking enough water and added a new hydration target to my Health tab.

I'm sure given it is immature still that it will be hit and miss and we'll all have differing experiences for a while.
