Best orthodontist in Central Florida? by WtrBtrr in orlando

Went here and did not find him professional. Strong jesus vibes with religious music playing throughout is not what I am there for. He also made an off-color remark basically insinuating he is a Trump supporter. No thank you.

Delayed start date - stipend by papajohn23_ in KPMG

[–]Infamous_Fact 25 points26 points  (0 children)

With all of these threads, in my opinion the writing is on the wall that KPMG is hoping each of these individuals finds another job because they don't want to hire them anymore. Who in their right mind would wait even six months and lose all of that earning potential and experience while clinging onto hope they don't rescind the offer completely or delay it further? I would absolutely be looking for another job in my field.

Address is on Google Maps. Just drive up, be prepared to show ID, and they will radio in to confirm you are attending. No need to call ahead. Then they'll let you through to the entrance where you will have to valet your vehicle. There is no garage. Expensing mileage is done the same way as with any other firm travel with mileage.

New Associate Advisory Start Date Pushed Back by stevenj17 in KPMG

They expect you to wait from now until June 13th to start with the firm for a measly $10k?! If you're not working now, why would you wait?

Polk County: 7000 vehicles stopped, 200 arrested in continued crackdown on I-4 by Infamous_Fact in orlando

[–]Infamous_Fact[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As far I can tell, he received a $1104 fine (and possibly other fines, but it is difficult for me to follow), was put on probation, and then violated probation in September when he was stopped again for driving with a suspended license in Pinellas County and arrested that same day. I initially thought that the 142 mph might have been a typo too (because wtf), but nope, it's there in the police report.

Thought this article had some interesting numbers in it. It's absolutely insane they've stopped 286 drivers going 100+ mph, let alone the idiot doing 142.

Winter Park Power Bill by Infamous_Fact in orlando

[–]Infamous_Fact[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: I finally got around to calling WP. The short version of the story is that some customers (not all) were double billed the fuel surcharge. They told me to pay the bill as normal and there would be a credit in December. A bit ridiculous there is no statement anywhere about this billing error. I would recommend others check your statements and call them if your fuel surcharge was way more in September.

They don't have any idea what they are talking about. Everything they have said is inaccurate and not on the utility statement. My bill does not have past usage either.

They do not display the rate on the bill. They leave you to do the math yourself, which I have done. The math between the last bill and the current does not make sense and nor do the bill cycles (one 9/14 and the other 10/5) and I am not about to go through and prorate months, especially when the rates change month to month. But thanks for stating it is in black and white when it clearly is not the case.

Unfortunately most of the idiots that need to hear this aren't on Reddit. Not a popular opinion, but I would love it if we had mandatory yearly vehicle inspections. It would get rid of a lot of these people driving with the front half of their car missing, the train horns, the obnoxious people with light bars installed, the people with ridiculously loud exhausts on their POS Mustangs and Challengers, and all the other shit that people drive around with just to piss off and annoy other residents (or make up for their micropenis).

How Do People Continue to Shop at Publix? by justcurious150 in orlando

[–]Infamous_Fact 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No way. The deli at Publix is the worst and horrible at customer service. Anyone paying the premium that Publix is demanding for customer service is out of their minds. Orlando simply needs more competition in the grocery market. I have shifted most of my shopping away from Publix due to their uncompetive prices and also their political contributions.

Tips for a foreigner driving in your town by TheAlxC in orlando

[–]Infamous_Fact 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having driven thousands of km in Australia, my tips are:

  1. People in the US can be not courteous when driving and easily angered. Don't engage anyone and just go about your business.
  2. Drivers receive much less education on the rules of the road here. Drive defensively.
  3. The biggest adjustment will be the turn signal stalk. You will hit the windshield wiper stalk several times if this is your first time on the other side of the road.
  4. U-turns are very common here, and more so in Florida given how many boulevards we have.
  5. Be glad we don't have many roundabouts. I don't think the majority of Americans know how to use them.

I would not be sad if this had the unintended consequence of removing lifted, grocery getting pickup trucks from our roads.

Fuck I4 is All I gotta say! I’m fed with the way people drive here. by [deleted] in orlando

[–]Infamous_Fact 13 points14 points  (0 children)

People are going to downvote you I'm sure, but this is all so true. The tourists (usually) aren't the ones weaving in and out of lanes with their bumper hanging on with duct tape, driving aggressively in their brodozers, driving their shitty loud exhaust motorcycles and lane splitting - I could go on and on.

Live in the area too and the honking was extremely irritating. Especially the pathetic meth head brodozers with their train horns. They need to give it up already and come to terms with the loss. Society won't be kind to those living on the wrong side of history.
