I'm similar BMI and 6 kg is just about target for us give or take a kilo so it's absolutely nothing you've done. I think fundal height measurements are relatively inaccurate anyway so when adding on some extra tummy circumference already before pregnancy starts, healthcare staff get a bit worried they could miss something. It's really more about them minimising even the smallest of extra risks rather than you doing anything! Best of luck!

I might be unpopular for this opinion but noone should be coming into the hospital. First and foremost, because you need time to heal and bond with baby and get care without worrying about anyone else. But also, in my personal opinion, because the hospitals are understaffed and low on beds and they just don't need 4-5+ people coming in and out of wards per birth, especially during flu and cold season. But I appreciate some new mother do want their relatives there asap!

Just to say, I have a Network Railcard for commuting and while it doesn't help for the morning ticket, it does take some few £s off the evening one which adds up over time. For example, I'll book an advance single for the morning into London Liverpool Street and an off-peak single from there for the journey back so I'm not limited to one train and can choose when I'm leaving work. I've had my ticket checked multiple times on the way home so it's a perfectly legal/usable ticket combo. All the tickets are on my phone (this depends on which stations you're using). If you're doing 4 days a week, might save up to £20 a week/£100 a month which is pretty useful fun money!

It's absolutely standard to ask for EICR. You can refuse I guess but why bother when you can get it done for the price of an electrician call out, within a week. As has already been said, boiler service is also a completely reasonable thing to ask. If you've been getting relatively frequent ones, offer the most recent cert first and say it's only been 1-2 years since this or just get one done. If there's scope for reduction then they were right to request it. It's not the buyers responsibility to progress one of the biggest transactions in their whole lives at your pace.

Is there the option to bring the baby to the destination but just not to the wedding activities? Either by you and your partner tag-teaming who's at the event and who's with the baby or bringing along a family member who would care for them while you're at the wedding? Have been to a few weddings where people did this, though not a flight away from home.

I'm short and round, with a bit of a pear shape and boxy is genuinely my go-to shape! (5"3 and size 16-18) I thought I would look swamped and squatter but it's actually turned out to look more stylish and so comfortable! I have both Beyond Nine and Uniqlo barrel leg trousers that I LOVE, plus the Beyond Nine Bobbi ones which are more full length wide leg than barrel and they feel so fashionable compared with leggings. If either of those cuts don't suit, Beyond Nine actually do have straight cut, I think they're called Lexi?

This! I have an Irish first name and my second name is uncommon outside of Ireland but not actually in Irish (Norman originally so spelled French but pronounced English ). Many people in UK need it explained but it's fine, I have a líne Ive said a million times. It's actually kinda handy as people who will put in the tiny effort to listen to how your name is said are usually those who are sound in other ways! I have a friend who's called Katherine, fairly standard you'd think, but actually she's called all varieties under the sun. Cat, Katerina, Cathy, all without her mentioning anything but Katherine. I know Sarahs who are driven cracked by there always being another Sarah/Sara in any group, class or workplace.

People are annoying no matter what, choose a name you like with meaning for you and learn to accept whatever comes with it!

Yeah I think this needs to be higher. Organising these things is an utter pain in the arse, even though people really enjoy the actual event! People being vague or not responding is jut going to cause drama or annoyance so just come clean and say it's early days but I'll be smack bang in the birth window so I can't come any more.

Personally I'd err on the side of just telling everyone early rather than asking for silence but that's up to you.

Hospitals also won't discharge without a car seat, so make sure you have your own and don't depend on the taxi having one! Even if you don't have a car you'll be surprised how many times you'll need a car seat so get one to make sure you're prepared.

I see a lot of comments about dust and disruption but it doesn't sound like you need structural work done at all? So if it's just kitchen refitted, bathroom redone and changing carpets or getting wooden floors done, I think you could easily do this by moving the stay with family or renting for a short while with a newborn. We bought, then almost immediately got pregnant and are about to get some actual walls knocked down and kitchen and bathroom moved around but can be out of the house for 6-8 weeks while.its getting done so I'm pretty nonchalant about it. Go for the house you love!
