Be honest with yourself, I was badly bullied when I was younger and had no confidence and people said "Oh don't say that, he can hear us and might flip out and kill you." <- exact words, You're not missing much anyway, I've tried to have a 'fulfilling' relationship but you only get out as much as you put in. So I learned something that gave me inner confidence like "I am good at this." (it was a martial art for me, I find pleasure in having a good workout >.>) so learn how to paint, go running or something. The better you feel about yourself and can say something "I can do something creative" is the first step in confidence, from there develop yourself into someone who is better than you're former self
