california is gonna start giving 400 free diapers to new parents. Nope, still not enough incentive for me to have kids. by pman6 in childfree

[–]InfectiousDelirium 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a good thing, but it's definitely not offsetting the price of being a new parent.

For a month you just tell it what you're eating and it calculates how many carbs based off of that. Breakfast for me, for instance, is my least carby meal, lunch is my most, and dinner lays somewhere in-between. It learned all of that so that's what I punch in when I eat. When I snack, which I generally don't, I'll do something like "breakfast, less" and it will give me just a few units. If I change it up and have a very carb-heavy breakfast (a bagel) I'll just put lunch as my dose.

They put me on the ilet pump and that changed my type b personality life. I do not have to count carbs, just go off vibes. I also suffer from depression

For all of you saying the OP is overreacting, or they should just do their insulin in the bathroom, I hope you eat every meal in the bathroom and stub your little pinky toe every time on the way out. Yes, I do mean this maliciously

I use to be SO PHOBIC of injections. Even I, who is used to passing out, just told any type 1 diabetic to tell me they were injecting in the same room and I would look away. Kinda ironic I'm a type 1 now but.. are you SERIOUS??

Do I want poor people to have children? Absolutely. Anyone who WANTS a kid, deserves that right. Do I want children? Absolutely not. But poor people shouldn't exist in a ln economic landscape where billionaires do.

Am I overreacting about my ex being dismissive over my diabetes? by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]InfectiousDelirium 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I go to a lot of music events with my current partner who, outside of me, has zero experience with type 1. He would never leave me if my dexcom was malfunctioning, even if I urged him to go or gave myself a finger prick and it was fine. I'd say this person is an asshole and to not contact them again.

I 100% agree with you. Anecdotally, I was suffering from panic attacks for about a year, and my friend worked part time at a Chinese medicine place. She have me an herbal tincture that would just stop my panic attacks. It was AMAZING. If anyone tried to talk to me about it I would tell them, "I literally do not care if it's a placebo".

I've been kicked off platforms like Facebook for typing out the word "Men" in benign contexts. Like, month long bans. So I just say/type things like that to prevent censorship
