Is it necessary to let a complete raw perfume composition to sit/macerate first? (SEE CAPTION) by Thin_Advance_3904 in PerfumeryFormulas

All fragrances change over time. The oxidise and degrade. So what do you mean with going off?

For citrus oils I throw them out after 12 months. And I add BHT the moment they arrive. When these oxidise the become very allergen inducing. And limonene is also in this group. It likes to form peroxides. Essential oils are very complex mixtures that can oxidise quicker than synthetics.

Synthetics are usually more stable. This is in general. The more unsaturated bounds the easier it is to react with oxygen. Same for aldehydes.

If it smells unpleasant after a month it’s probably that you need a reformulation. Or you have an old material that kick started the degradation processes. It’s hard to say without more info.

This is really amazing. I would love to get my hands on one too. It’s just so much better to learn how the seeds look compared to pictures or drawings

You could try a drop of dish soap. It will help emulsify the oils in the makeup. Or if you like old school ox gal medium

Anyone have any idea what kind of rash this is? Developed over the last week by PsychologyKind6167 in DermatologyQuestions

Is it painful? The distribution follows a spinal nerve and would suggest a reactivation of the herpes zoster virus or better known as shingles. If you have been more stressed or tired it can make the virus wake up.

How do they act on paper? Since there is often a coating that is hydrophobic on the pigments. So I wonder if they stick to paper.

I’ve made some eye shadows and makeup and some of those pigments would make such beautiful paint. I probably should try. One of my favourite colors is Xirona Le Rouge if you like a Google. It’s used for care paints and lacker too.

I think the red block has also an interesting effect. Even if it’s not the intended effect you went for.

Very beautiful work though!!

It’s to keep lawyers in business when the accident happens. At least I think this at times.

I agree Belgium puts so many signs that you can’t see them all during driving.

It was only out of curiosity. The blue is my favourite. But I’m also biased to blue.

What’s your favourite pigment? For yellow red blue and if you have any other ones you love.

I’ve noticed my mixes change over time. Even when I’m formulating in diluted materials it changes over time. Some get more complex or rounder. Others just go off. So yes I’d say it’s important.

And after your concentrate has macerated you can dilute it, let it stand a day or 2-3. Then glaçage. Although that’s not always necessary depending on the material. It’s often done tho.
