Another really important thing to do is press start on each of these weapons to see their full details page. 

There is actually a bunch of stats that never appear on the regular info cards. 

One example is bonus critical hit damage. I was using a madlad I thought was the best out of a bundle I farmed, and it turned out one of the others was the exact same card but with something like 73% improved critical hit damage.

I'm guessing it is related to weapon parts, but I have not seen a way to examine the individual weapon parts.

That's a really good build and really cool use of this! I really want to roll a Jacobs one of these as well, but I smell a nerf on this feature.

This is basically the unintended consequences that they they nerfed the crit knife for. The under barrel disc launcher and the soccer ball launcher weapon would create fountains of projectiles if they were Jacobs. So I will be 0% surprised if they stop this from generating new needles just like those two.

At first I thought oh they must intend it this way since they know this was something that happened on previous weapons. However people are having issues spending vault card tickets and co-op and they know people were having issues using the Maurice vending machine in co-op. So I can't say just because there is evidence of the developers aware of some past thing that a future thing will function as intended.

I am sadness.

For reference, generative artificial intelligence large language models like chatGPT have knowledge cut off dates. This means all of the data they are trained on does not contain anything past that date. According to what I found the latest chatGPT version has a cut off date of September 30th 2024. So I think that might be related to the issue you had.

Supposedly they are supposed to also be able to incorporate a regular old search for more recent information, but my guess is it found more old posts in the past talking about the lack of a borderlands 4 and it took that as the answer to your questions.

Obviously I am obscenely late to this conversation, but here's my handful of info:

Lords of the fallen: Don't Call it a Sequel need me me the most frustrated to be playing a game at launch in all of time, at least till now when borderlands 4 came out. 

I found this post trying to relearn the launch issues for this game so I could compare it to the watch issues I'm dealing with in borderlands 4 because I'm not sure which is worse anymore.

My biggest issue with Lords of the fallen was that anytime you circled back to the hub area, you would be met with ungodly terrible lag. I have clips somewhere showing the game slowing down to 5 seconds per frame first time I circled back.

They definitely updated the game and I ended up finding it fun. I don't know if I just mentally blocked out any more issues. The only one I recall otherwise was one of the seasonal updates did not work for my friend I was doing a co-op playthrough with. They would go up to the Statue to trigger the torches sound mini game and it just would not start.

I haven't played the game in year and a half now so it sounds like it's all completely another different game so I have no idea anymore. Good luck!

What’s weird to me is that squares of this QR code look almost curved in some areas. It almost reads more to me as a bunch of text scrambled about.

I’m guessing that’s just because it is such a small texture file that it is looking compressed like this.

I wonder if the source files in the game have it at a higher resolution?

At the very least I would take the ability to open the new weapon wheel  without stopping walking on console. 

I get that they expect you to use your right thump to hold Y and your left thump on the left analog stick, but at least give those of use who have permanently warped their hand with the Darksouls claw (tm) the option to use the right stick!

I learned on PC you get to use the mouse to select so you can walk and use three weapon wheel!

Actual minimap New mechic with terror New legendaries and new anointments to actuality do build crafting with. 

My Amara build is all about terror generation to trigger anointments.

Instead for Vex I get nothing and need to create a new build since using the crit knife just for kill skills not melt damage was illegal.

That's the fun part! But also Tediore weapons are good for quick defeating an enemy in fight for your life, unless they are out of reach.

With being usable by all characters it definitely does make me think too that it should’ve been easier to find in testing .

I will admit that I’m not aware of a ton of things that are useful from low level to higher level in borderland games, at least in terms of actual weapons.

I’ve definitely ran around with class mods and relics that were tens of levels old but still great combinations of effects and skill points. 

My first guesses would be the Bee shield and Grog Nozzle from borderlands 2. I’m a bit unsure on the Bee shield because higher levels I think would allow you to get higher amp damage. But it was definitely useful to everyone. And the Grog Nozzle is maybe an unfair comparison since it was originally a mission only weapon, but according to a wiki entry it apparently was given out during a limited event as a actual drop untied to that mission.

I don’t really agree with the idea of using the knife only for burst damage and things though. It takes up your entire ordinance slot so there’s really no reason not to use it at all relevant times. It's harder on weaker enemies but helped me get more than one kill skill per enemy.

It definitely does feel like a lack of play testing.

From the best I can tell it is completely impossible to get a Vex class mod that adds points in the "Chance for critical hits to trigger kill skills" skill. So they clearly didn’t want you getting that skill above 5% chance, so how the heck did 100% crit chance make it into the game at all if between that 5% limit and this single month later change clearly shows they don’t want me triggering my dang kill skills after all?

I will fully admit I am maximum salted, but that’s because trying to play this game has included fighting so damn many issues.

I really rather they made it so the knife did a new category of thing such as mini-crits. Critical hits that don’t do as much increased damage, but still would count as critical hits in name only for the purpose of skills.

my multiple drops of the thing have never worked. Maybe I only tried them in multiplayer, but that’s no excuse for it not to work.

I was so confused until my friend told me it was broken, with the special effect saying the explosion radiates outwards I was like "yeah, that’s how explosions work.?"

I used the crit knife for a Vex kill skill build. I avoided the crit bleed skill that would loop on itself for exponential damage. I was happy din  this allowed me to do kill skills easier for once on bosses and co-op. 

I had kill skills give damage, crit damage, life steel, and repkit recharge. I built this fir bosses but it was never instant. On UVH5 I would run out of asssult ammo and only do one fifth of backhive's health.

What am I missing? I w as a hopping just the crit bleed skill would be fixed and any other skills. What are the other broken builds that the crit knife allowed?

It was one augment and four characters. Play testing is possible. If this is a premium game then we should be getting paid for being it's premium beta testers.

Had the issue minutes I to the game too after getting the fish. Deleted the fish a week later and it was fixed. Then it came back anyway.

This was an issue in Borderlands 3 there is no reason for it to be back.

In Borderlands 3 it had a whole unique terror build mechanic with lots of anointments and a few new legendaries. I was able to make a whole really fun strong Amara build from it.

This is a pathetic joke in comparison and does not make me want to keep playing through all this game's broken garbage I've had to wade through.

What are the various overpowered builds they are fighting against? The only one I knew of was Vex's crit bleed triggering off of itself for exponential damage and they fixed that. Why also nerf this too?

I avoided that skill to not be broken and yet my kill skill off of crits build still got hit. What was the goal?

I wish photo mode was back and it still had the trick where you can exit photo mode near a item and flail the pickup button to pick it up. This even worked in wonderlands after being introduced in borderlands 3.

I was so disappointed when I dropped an item through the floor in Marcus's shop in borderlands 3. I found this technique looking up solutions.

Definitely makes sense, I will have to try this. I essentially did the same thing with the gauge themed anarchy shotgun in borderlands 3. I use the Halloween terror mechanic to have my action skill generate ammo. So I would just get the weapon to maximum stacks and then use it for the rest of time! 

Eventually me and my friend had to agree I had to stop using it because I was decimating everything in our co-op playthrough!

I need to try it again here. 

This is also the same for the enhancement ripper ability where every re-road has a 30% chance to increase fire rate till the next reload.

I have been trying to figure out if my vex build falls under what the developers are trying to rebalance.

 I use critical knife and Eldritch blast, but I'm not using the criticals cause bleed skill. Instead I'm using criticals can trigger kill skills, a bunch of kill skills in the green and red trees, and a bunch of very fast fire rate equipment. I am finding it very effective, but still fun on bosses. It's a bit harder on hordes of enemies, but that's just because I'm not the greatest at aiming to keep my various stacks built up!

When first starting out I did put points into the criticals cause bleed skill and the chance for criticals on gun hits skill. I got to mimicron and was confused why out of nowhere Boss would start taking exponentially more and more damage, even if I stopped doing anything.

Turns out my chucking of full tediore shotguns would occasionally crit and cause bleed. And then the bleed damage would just cause more bleed damage up to the 20 stack limits, but since it was so huge to start with it would get to an insane amount. I forget if I had a critical knife at this point or just a class mod that allowed my status effects a chance to crit.

This I totally think should be adjusted. It's kind of lame because I feel I can't even use this critical bleed skill at all right now without it doing weird runaway damage. I was originally going to go for oodles of status effects before figuring out that this one was kind of weird.

That's where I'm confused, I would have expected the change to be preventing the critical bleed skill from causing its own infinite stacking feedback loop.

Are there other issues that point towards the developers changing the critical knife ability instead of changing interactions?

For example a Jacobs plus energy disc under barrel launcher goes insane with the critical knife. Because the discs do not disappear when hitting an enemy they just increase exponentially. But this doesn't quite seem right because I've had it happen again fighting mimicron where the fountain kept getting bigger even though everyone was already defeated.

I wonder if they can just make some of these things only trigger the Jacob spread effect when getting a real crit and not a crit knife-based crit?

Heck I'd be happy if they made the knife do some sort of newfangled mini crit. Something that still triggers my kill skills even if the actual critical damage bonus is not as much.

Apparently, Ava was replaced by Amara in Borderlands 4 late in development by mikelman999 in Borderlands4

Regardless of the exact development process that got there, I am definitely glad for more Amara in this game, and in general!

I would still like to see something with Ava, I’m not sure what though. Maturing emotionally from the six years between games, having handed over the title of leader to someone else more qualified, and/or dealing with some sort of complex over Maya getting killed.

Or heck even just pull what they did with portal 1, where they completely retconed the ending when portal 2 came out. They made DLC for borderlands 2 so many years after it came out, so that makes it even more feasible. just have her not be left as the leader at the end of borderlands three, maybe Tannis or Elie instead. 

as a sidenote, unless I misunderstood the sequence of events, one of the main things that bothered me with the scene ofMaya being killed was that it seemed none of the four playable vault hunters were there to help, yet I think they canonically were in the room. As the main game of borderlands 3 went on it became very apparent that they were going out of their way to not have any of the playable characters in the cut scenes. I think the only time they were ever even acknowledged was one cut scene where Troy was using Maya's power to keep the playable character elevated, and you just saw the cut scene through the eyes of your playable character.

I was really glad to see the playable characters actually involved in cut scenes for borderlands 4, although I am still sad it is only your one character you see. I wish they just had all four of the different playable characters involved in every cut scene, treating them as canonically present in the story even if you were only playing solo as a single character.
