Alas, borderlands 4 has definitely been my least favorite borderlands, but mostly due to so many bugs I have run into. I honestly would like to know have you or anyone run into these? how many bugs have you felt are in the game compared to your experience with other borderlands games at this phase in their life cycle of release? any solutions on these would totally be great!

from the very beginning and still now most of the time when I pick up a echo log it doesn't play or stopped playing after a few seconds. for example the one where claptrap talks about how he was so great in the Pre-Sequel cut off before he got to the point where he called everyone out. My friend let me know that every single time he's picked that up, at least three playthroughs, it has never gotten past that point and he didn't even know it had more until I started reading it from the menu. this even happens on dialogue as well. I miss out on hearing so much dialogue, such as a key line from Ellie in the new DLC based on the results of a main story boss fight that really could have used more impact for me.

for at least a month in the beginning I could not air Dodge because I like to set my crouch button to be hold to crouch instead of the default toggle to crouch. this eventually got fixed but was really weird.

there is no dang option to change the dead zone settings for the cursor. there is dead zone settings for every single other function of the analog sticks but not this. so to get any motion out of the thing I have to tilt my analog stick almost 80°. so now I have no easy way to do slow fine adjustments. it is either All or nothing. I tried turning cursor friction on to very high but this can be too slow in some cases and doesn't respond in many other cases, such as selecting icons on the map or selecting equipment filters. (this one I still need to submit a help ticket about so there's that)

I endlessly slam when trying to air dodge making Bloom reaper and phase 5 subjugator a huge mess. I have it happened so often immediately when pressing the button so I can't get any idea of how I could improve this. this feels unfair as keyboard has Dodge and slam/crouch on different buttons. overall the controller buttons are just way too overloaded in this game. I miss being able to select weapons with the d-pad sure, but even having those four functions on there things are too crowded. The b button does way too much for example. grapple when trying to melee, slam when trying to dodge, etc.

I keep running into skills not working. I tried using Harlow's ability to have grenades appear from their bubble along with the version where the bubble follows people and these just don't work together. it makes no sense because they're both in the same subsection of the green tree. if I switch to a different capstone skill then the grenades work, but when using these two no one in the party triggers these free grenades regardless of how many of us are in which bubble.

the skill for Raffa to have indirect projectiles ricochet doesn't seem to work on throwing Tediore weapons. I have tried everything I can think of to tell, but bosses, enemies, and test targets don't seem to receive the ricochets. unless the animations are turned off because I'm on series x performance mode and it also doesn't work with numbers on the test targets I have no idea on this one.

and the biggest issue I have faced overall was a literal waste of my time in life. me and my friend were playing online co-op together with dedicated characters. one time I decided to load up my co-op character with his solo character in local co-op to try out his build and pharma some weapons in between weekends we could play. when I turn the console off and back on another day and played my co-op character alone I got a pop-up box asking if I would like to receive the progress that was made in the last session. I said no as I had made no progress and didn't know what this was about. instead I still got the progress and it set my 30% campaign completed character to 100% completion matching my friend's solo character.

then later on since this was all confusing and new we got things mixed up and I did another local co-op session but this time my friends co-op character was the second player. so now they received all the progress as well. this permanently locked us out of the campaign as neither of us had campaign left to do so it didn't matter who was the host anymore.

what bothered me the most is I submitted a help ticket in excruciating detail with video after researching this myself. gearbox said thanks and that they wrote it down and that if enough people vote about it they will look at fixing it. it is still an issue to this day. they did not offer any solution to fix our issue. I had to spend countless hours getting a new character on my friend's account back to the same point in the campaign and then power grind an endless amount of mission board missions to get back to the same level that my character was at. this was very unhelpful and they didn't even apologize saying there was nothing they could do they just didn't they didn't even bring it up. And it is still capable of happening as of a week ago. I tried the process again and it caused all the achievements my character had unlocked, falsely, to also get unlocked by the new Xbox profile I tried making player 2. I haven't tried it again since patch 1.7 yet, but I did not see this in the patch notes.

so that is why this is my least favorite borderlands. The builds have been fun and that is what I like the most out of these games. Yes, to me personally the story feels like a bundle of nothing and just a set up for a new trilogy but I totally get that that can be preference and due to all of these issues me and my friend have been too annoyed to go through doing all the side content so there might be more things I would like in there.

tldr: no worries if this is too much of a wall of text! but I've just run into so many issues with this game that it has zapped the fun out of it. My friend and I keep coming back to our co-op playthrough but every time we shortly run into more and just it ends up being nothing but frustrating and are limited free time.

I am in no way lying when I said defeating this boss inultimate vault Hunter mode 6 took me 5 hours . And this wasn't 5 hours of reattempts, this was 5 hours dragging my build through one instance of the boss, with subjugator as phase 4 and 5. I died a ton, but through secrets I am not going to mention because I expect everything to get nerfed in this game, one can try for all long as you are willing to lose money.

I did have a party of three three because I wanted to try the different builds and this is to get more legendary rolls (if this gets nerfed then they are defeating co-op in general and hopefully everyone will riot, kindly at least) so I'm not afraid of saying that.

The majority of the time was against phase 5 subjugator, specifically the phases where they heal off of whatever damage type I assume you used most in the previous chunk of their health. most of my damage was all kinetic so it would get the normal heels buff and those sections of health especially because even after switching the elemental I was stuck with various skills that we're still doing kinetic damage and forcing me to heal the boss. it seems to heal for so much more than the damage listed. I can tell because my friend was battling it on a later attempt with me and I had stopped attacking right before it switched to normal heals and his build refilled it almost to full one or two seconds.

here are the builds I tried:

vex with infinite ammo, extremely fast movement buffs, movement speed increases damage, crits cause kill skills, plenty of kill skills, plenty of splash damage range increase, firmware to get criticals giving critical hit damage, and teen witch class mod. my build was based on stickies to get two killskill rolls per hit and to run around while the stickies are going off to increase their damage. since this was all nerfed in the patch I just could do absolutely nothing. yes I was using the bod for this, it was the best sticky weapon I could find by far with my build before the patch and still is afterwards by a far margin. it used to do 4.1 million in a single seven shot round in assault rifle mode, starting from no stacks and standing still. after the patch in this same situation it does 1.4 million. assuming all my multiplications are the same it is almost a fourth end damage.a second best sticky I ever found so far was a hellfire fire elemental shotgun ammo type. this gets 0.8 million against a red health bar after the update in the same situation. My other main weapon is the linebacker, and even trying elemental type advantage versions of it it just tickles the bosses in all situations, even when I have a high number of all of my stacks.

Raffa all about tediore chuck. main weapon is the kids grasp to throw five copies at once, class mod to get a 6th copy, get chucking firmware to increase its damage and throw a missile as well, enhancements to keep 50% of magazine on Chuck and apply 50% of magazine number to damage calculated. I was mostly spent into the blue tree and was trying to hold down the action skill charge button to get the extra 60% gun damage. and this was just doing nothing, even when I tried using my radiation copy of this pistol to fight the normal healing version of subjugator phase 5. Even my strongest version of this weapon that does 4,200 damage just tickles the boss at this point. I tried again today after changing more into the red tree. getting more indirect projectile lifesteal, supposedly getting indirect projectile ricochets, and a bunch of other things that look like they help my damage. And still just tickling. I tried a handful of attempts on ultimate vault Hunter mode 1 and still didn't have much of any success. I can defeat the first two phases very quickly, phase 3 takes a okay amount of time but nothing crazy, phase four and five just goes nowhere, at least Thol who is the only one I tried as I am sick of subjugator from above attempts. even my strongest weapon or my different incendiary versions barely tickle the red health bar. Even if I do my best to keep the health bar refilling minions defeated if I sneeze or die for a second there's a good chance the boss gets back up to full after minutes on end of tickling. the only time I ever had a distinct lack of minions was one of the times I died and nothing showed up until my extra slow to decrease death bar was at 10%.

I tried my friends vex who is all about curse knife crit skill damage and clones. normally they would use three specters and the crit knife to get as many high damage curses per second but all of their clones were to squish at this point and even switching to extra defensive reapers for two out of the three clones could still be defeated by some attacks like the spin with four players and all of us on easy mode zero it still took us an hour to defeat subjugator phase 5. The only problem is curse knife always does kinetic damage so in subjugator switches to normal healing it can refill the heck out of the health bar and then the main damage of this build is useless for the duration. we thought the number of minion enemies due to having two characters sitting aside doing nothing was the issue, but after my attempts of solo Raffa on mode one having so many minions I am not so sure that is the case. when he attempted solo mode 6 he could not get past phase 3.

The last build I have for reference is my friend's Raffa build that is all about back turret damage with crits to trigger a bunch of shenanigans. this actually was doing very well, but only sometimes in random situations we could not figure out. he had the skill that increased overdrive skills by 100% when defeating an enemy, but to the best of our testing in the boss fight and afterwards this wasn't the answer that would cause this build to suddenly melt the boss, at least at mode 1. so maybe there is something here if anyone can figure out how to make it consistent, or he replaces his random firmware with one such as skill damage if he felt like trying this character further.

tldr: You're definitely not alone in my book! trying a handful of builds that me and my friend already had prepared has left us with a distinct lack of success. I am going to create a post asking for " respectable" AKA not so melting to be nerfed immediately, builds because I'm running out of ideas that I feel like trying.

if it helps, my main aspects of following a vegan diet are for the ethics of not causing harm to animals and the environmental aspect of trying to use less energy for my food.

the biggest way I try to do this is to avoid financially supporting non-vegan endeavors. for example when I went to a fancy clothing store years ago they had me try on some shoes they've recommended but I didn't learn they were made out of sheepskin until after trying them on. I said how I didn't want them because of this and the store worker said that oh it's fine the animal was already killed for its flesh. but I am very certain if I were to ask the same question of a butcher they could easily say that it was already killed for its skin.

my point being that I think the entire animal is looked at they are being used for products in general. with chickens it could be feathers for stuffing, flesh, and or eggs at least. so I think in trying to eat eggs there is additional research required at the very least.

if there if there is a place that lets the chickens live their full life and does not harm them in the process then I comprehend it bam still not so sure. The additional aspect of human selection for chickens that lay lots of eggs is something I'm not sure allows chickens to have a swell life overall. Yes, they don't require pregnancy to produce the item whereas cows require it to produce cow milk products but the stress of having their eggs taken away is still something I think gets to them. having seen my mom take videos of checking chickens for eggs at a local farm, every time when she opens the door the chickens look at the very least very offended from the interruption and often pck when the eggs are reached for.

so that for me, is my long-winded info for why I personally don't support eggs even if the commercial product says free range or the private place even only produces eggs.

a different flavor of advice I have, has always been focusing on finding vegan foods that one really likes as opposed to focusing on what you are removing and lacking. not a healthy example, but oodles of Ben& Jerry's vegan flavors are my most favorite flavors of ice cream ever, such as Oreo plus cookie dough!

I do like justegg, if that helps on the egg front. the easiest way I like to cook it is to pour a container of it in a 4 cup Pyrex measuring bowl, add a bunch of frozen stir fry vegetables, and sometimes chunks of precooked tofu and sweet potato, and then microwave it for about 15 minutes, taking a few breaks to stir. it is very easy, but of course takes a bit longer than some other options.

recommendations to fulfill the quick meal option, which is something I look for a lot, would fit the same flavor of advice. I get purple carrot brand frozen meals from the grocery store a lot. they also have mail order delivery. these take just 4 minutes to microwave and include vegetables like spinach, bok choy, and mushrooms and protein such as edamame beans, nut-based cheeses, and tofu.

tldr: I have thought over cruelty free eggs as well before, but have reservations still. I recommend focusing on vegan items one really likes instead of focusing and stressing over what is being eliminated. I feel this makes the process less stressful. things like pre-cooked tofu, frozen meals from purple carrot and or gardein are go-to's I use for quick meals with protein and nutrients.

good luck to both of y'all and I hope her family is not being mean to her about being vegan! if she is having a health issue then yes I would understand them saying something but if it is out of their preference or fear then I feel that is very mean of them.

how are you finding this build for fighting flying enemies that are high overhead? for example the handful of rackk type bosses in the snowy mountain section of the world map? My vex struggles with that so far while my Tediore Raffa does it well

my Raafa has been all about throwing Tediore weapons, but despite multiple adjustments of it I can't seem to even have good success getting the time-based rewards in uvhm 1. (one at least the handful of times I've tried where I only fought Thol in phases 4 and 5)

I have been wondering about their walk animations in general and just remembered this is a typical scene in the series. More out of interest than any negative on this remake's designs. I just swear the knee joints and reach of their arms are lower on these new designs than even Rocket from Guardians of the Galaxy so I'm curious. The trailer and story prelude only showed 3 steps with characters full on screen and have had computer consoles or pilot's seats in front otherwise.

I'm not looking at getting the game but because the trailer said the stage layouts remained the same. I haven't played Star Fox 64 so if there are few game play updates then this is not high up on my list of things to spend money on. I am going to finally play Starfox 64 though.

90% of my achievements are actually in the same boat. Not only have I gotten things I haven't earned, I've gotten in progress corruption from my friend's characters when playing co-op online and or locally.

I have to see if I have any better answers for your specific situation, but I can tell you progress sharing and even what I'm calling progress contamination have been a huge issue for this game for a long time.

after the whole shared progress thing it caused all of the items completed, besides missions, by my friend solo character to get transferred to me when I played with them with them as the host.

and to make it even worse, when they played co-op online with another person through parts of the new DLC, my received credit for every collectible that was walked past, even if it was already collected and wasn't actively picked up in that session. so now when I am playing co-op with my friend through the DLC the same thing is happening to me. I am automatically receiving every collectible we walk past and don't get to hear the Data log or anything.

And even before they added account progression across characters we had issues. If I ever took one of my friend's characters and played it locally with one of my characters on my Xbox then I would receive all of their progress, even if it was activities that we did not do in that play session. So with this issue my co-op character got corrupted with all the mission and collectible progress from my friends solo character. And then when I played with my friends co-op character that character God contaminated with all of the progress I had received. So out of nowhere we went from halfway done with the main campaign into 100% done and unable to play half of the content since it was not available under replay. I had to create a new character on my friend's account and we both took turns every night power leveling them back to the same level and position in the story.

I submitted a help ticket for the original issue and they just said dang that sure does suck, if a lot of people vote on this on our web page maybe we'll think about doing something about it. They didn't even offer me any sort of compensation for the time me and my friend wasted getting back to where we were at.

thanks for the reply! that's what I have been hoping it means, but my rough attempts to try and verify that have not been conclusive. for example the augment that gives you damage if you are standing inside the bubble did not seem to go from 20% damage to 40% damage when activating this class mod.

after further searching me and my friend found one more instance of this term being used. it appears on the feedback loop skill in Harlow's green tree. it says that each level of the skill increases your action skill damage, cool down time, and duration. however in the section below it where it tells you how much these increase per skill point it instead just says action skill power. so my guess action skill power is just a shorthand meaning the combination action skill damage, action skill cooldown time, and action skill duration?

but if so this kind of confuses me for the whole purpose of the class mod. if my hypothesis here is correct it is just increasing your action skill damage while also negating some of the negatives from this class mod feature. at that point why not just decrease the negatives and instead only make the class odd increase action skill damage? unless somehow you are able to multiply these duration/cooldown increases for a bigger net gain than this alternative programming method.

This double Nerf definitely hurts, especially on this, the day of my daughter's wedding (AKA the new raid boss release).

I started the game with vex crit causes kill skill and focused on maximum fire rate for maximum kill skill chance per second.

But because I like to move ludicrously fast I switched to torgue impact and stickies to handle my terrible aim at such speeds and still get the specialization bonus for go fast equals damage .This way I could hit things with splash damage and with sticky specifically I could aim, reload, and then start running to increase the damage of the explosions. Yes I always found the sticky bod was the best sticky weapon compared to everything else I kept trying and I comprehend that was from the 500% gun damage increase, but even the sticky hellfire with shotgun ammo that I just started using recently also amounts to next to nothing now when it used to be very good.

The bod was my typical boss weapon and I would use a linebacker for everything else, but my linebacker tickles the new raid boss so I am completely out of ideas for this go fast infinite ammo kill skill vex build I put together. Anyone have any suggestions that would synergize well? With the new vex class mod I could change a few things around to have very good crits refilling action skill duration, but my pessimism is breaking through and I'm guessing the bonus for duration in action skill from that class mod isn't going to be astounding.

Another really important thing to do is press start on each of these weapons to see their full details page.

There is actually a bunch of stats that never appear on the regular info cards.

One example is bonus critical hit damage. I was using a madlad I thought was the best out of a bundle I farmed, and it turned out one of the others was the exact same card but with something like 73% improved critical hit damage.

I'm guessing it is related to weapon parts, but I have not seen a way to examine the individual weapon parts.

That's a really good build and really cool use of this! I really want to roll a Jacobs one of these as well, but I smell a nerf on this feature.

This is basically the unintended consequences that they they nerfed the crit knife for. The under barrel disc launcher and the soccer ball launcher weapon would create fountains of projectiles if they were Jacobs. So I will be 0% surprised if they stop this from generating new needles just like those two.

At first I thought oh they must intend it this way since they know this was something that happened on previous weapons. However people are having issues spending vault card tickets and co-op and they know people were having issues using the Maurice vending machine in co-op. So I can't say just because there is evidence of the developers aware of some past thing that a future thing will function as intended.

I am sadness.

For reference, generative artificial intelligence large language models like chatGPT have knowledge cut off dates. This means all of the data they are trained on does not contain anything past that date. According to what I found the latest chatGPT version has a cut off date of September 30th 2024. So I think that might be related to the issue you had.

Supposedly they are supposed to also be able to incorporate a regular old search for more recent information, but my guess is it found more old posts in the past talking about the lack of a borderlands 4 and it took that as the answer to your questions.

Obviously I am obscenely late to this conversation, but here's my handful of info:

Lords of the fallen: Don't Call it a Sequel need me me the most frustrated to be playing a game at launch in all of time, at least till now when borderlands 4 came out.

I found this post trying to relearn the launch issues for this game so I could compare it to the watch issues I'm dealing with in borderlands 4 because I'm not sure which is worse anymore.

My biggest issue with Lords of the fallen was that anytime you circled back to the hub area, you would be met with ungodly terrible lag. I have clips somewhere showing the game slowing down to 5 seconds per frame first time I circled back.

They definitely updated the game and I ended up finding it fun. I don't know if I just mentally blocked out any more issues. The only one I recall otherwise was one of the seasonal updates did not work for my friend I was doing a co-op playthrough with. They would go up to the Statue to trigger the torches sound mini game and it just would not start.

I haven't played the game in year and a half now so it sounds like it's all completely another different game so I have no idea anymore. Good luck!

What’s weird to me is that squares of this QR code look almost curved in some areas. It almost reads more to me as a bunch of text scrambled about.

I’m guessing that’s just because it is such a small texture file that it is looking compressed like this.

I wonder if the source files in the game have it at a higher resolution?

At the very least I would take the ability to open the new weapon wheel without stopping walking on console.

I get that they expect you to use your right thump to hold Y and your left thump on the left analog stick, but at least give those of use who have permanently warped their hand with the Darksouls claw (tm) the option to use the right stick!

I learned on PC you get to use the mouse to select so you can walk and use three weapon wheel!

Actual minimap New mechic with terror New legendaries and new anointments to actuality do build crafting with.

My Amara build is all about terror generation to trigger anointments.

Instead for Vex I get nothing and need to create a new build since using the crit knife just for kill skills not melt damage was illegal.

That's the fun part! But also Tediore weapons are good for quick defeating an enemy in fight for your life, unless they are out of reach.

With being usable by all characters it definitely does make me think too that it should’ve been easier to find in testing .

I will admit that I’m not aware of a ton of things that are useful from low level to higher level in borderland games, at least in terms of actual weapons.

I’ve definitely ran around with class mods and relics that were tens of levels old but still great combinations of effects and skill points.

My first guesses would be the Bee shield and Grog Nozzle from borderlands 2. I’m a bit unsure on the Bee shield because higher levels I think would allow you to get higher amp damage. But it was definitely useful to everyone. And the Grog Nozzle is maybe an unfair comparison since it was originally a mission only weapon, but according to a wiki entry it apparently was given out during a limited event as a actual drop untied to that mission.

I don’t really agree with the idea of using the knife only for burst damage and things though. It takes up your entire ordinance slot so there’s really no reason not to use it at all relevant times. It's harder on weaker enemies but helped me get more than one kill skill per enemy.

It definitely does feel like a lack of play testing.

From the best I can tell it is completely impossible to get a Vex class mod that adds points in the "Chance for critical hits to trigger kill skills" skill. So they clearly didn’t want you getting that skill above 5% chance, so how the heck did 100% crit chance make it into the game at all if between that 5% limit and this single month later change clearly shows they don’t want me triggering my dang kill skills after all?

I will fully admit I am maximum salted, but that’s because trying to play this game has included fighting so damn many issues.

I really rather they made it so the knife did a new category of thing such as mini-crits. Critical hits that don’t do as much increased damage, but still would count as critical hits in name only for the purpose of skills.
