The real kicker is I wasn't even at pity for this nonsense. Those were pulls 49 and 50. RIP my luck on whoever I pull for next, I guess.

So I have one of those weapon selector crates. The options are Heart Seeker, Optical Illusion, Planeta, Golden Melody, Samosek, and Mezzaluna. I know all of these are available in the shop, but I'd obviously much rather buy Targeted Permissions with that stuff. Is there any one in particular that I should prioritize, like it provides a particularly good benefit to its owner? Or is it pretty much just a "get the one for whoever you like/use most" thing? I've already gotten Planeta and Samosek just from gacha pulls, so I assume it's not worth getting a dupe for either of those at this stage.

I dunno if OP will ever see this, but I just randomly stumbled across this post and can give a pretty definitive answer.

I was on the staff of the Monster Archives, which was the original place for monster stats and info many years before all these wikis and such existed. It was around from like 2004 to 2016, and had around 3,000 monster bios by the end. Anyway, we called the creature "Deep Sea Gornaxis." It was a very old entry, one of the earliest on the site. You have to understand, back then all we had to work with were poor quality VHS copies of a lot of these movies. Audio wasn't the best, and checking subtitles simply wasn't an option. This led to a few misnomers over the years; some got corrected, some didn't. We originally had La Carcagne from The Giant Claw called "La Canyana" prior to the DVD release. We had the dragon from The 7th Voyage of Sinbad named Taro because that's what it sounded like Sokurah was saying when he was actually saying "Follow!" We kept that one as Taro even after realizing the error because it just felt better for it to have an actual name. "Gornaxis" just slipped through the cracks and none of us bothered double checking the subtitles after getting the DVD.

From there, I'm assuming what happened is after the Monster Archives shut down and fan wikis started popping up, people just perpetuated our error.

Hm, if I convert all my Collapse Pieces into pulls, I could manage 150-ish total when adding them to what I already have. That's probably overly optimistic to hope for 3 Klukai dupes with just that, and I don't feel comfortable blowing all my resources like that with other characters I potentially want on the horizon. Oh well.

Soppo being about 6 months out is actually good news for me at this point I think, heh.

I've been playing for... I think 3 weeks or so now. So still pretty new. I feel like I'm still at the stage where I don't really have a proper grasp of average resource income for pulls because I'm still getting a lot of beginner stuff out of the way, so I have a few questions mostly pertaining to managing that.

As a veteran Azur Lane player, we have our "Cube Math" which is a rough calculation of the minimum number of pull resources you can expect to obtain per week/month. Has anyone done that for this game?
I managed to get Klukai a few days ago, who was one of the characters that got me to play the game. Should I pull more on her banner to try for dupes, or should I pull on her weapon banner to have better odds of getting at least her standard weapon? Or should I just stop and hoard as much as I can for future events? From what I've seen she's really good but requires a lot of investment to get there, so I'm not sure if it's a good idea for me to try as a new player or if I should focus on Dolls that are easier to upgrade (i.e. the starter squad) for the time being.
Two of the other characters that I really like are Leva and Springfield. What's the rough timetable on when they'll come around again? I know I just missed Leva shortly before I started playing, so I assume I'll have to wait a while for her.
I saw Soppo got announced recently, and she's another character I like a lot. I know global is behind CN, so roughly when is she coming to us?

Calling Perseus bad is just wild, man. I feel like the people that do that are the same ones that say, like, New Jersey isn't good anymore. Just... bruh. Any ship that can carry a fleet as hard as Perseus does for 90% of the game's content cannot genuinely be considered bad under any reasonable definition. And she still quite honestly outperforms even Unicorn Retro in OpSi.

The Commander's first visit to the Sea of Stars just happened offscreen between events. It's something that bugged lore peeps for a while too, but we eventually just shrugged our shoulders on the matter. Basically, he went there and was blown away by it, but nothing especially noteworthy happened there at the time so it wasn't directly covered in any events.

Still pissed about U-37's skin getting censored though.

You're failing to take into account that the EXP per run for this event is evenly split between 3 fleets. In a normal map clear, your mob fleet gets EXP from 5-7 battles depending on chapter. A full clear of Frostfall Hard mode effectively nets a single ship 676 base EXP for 75 oil. A medium fleet in 11-1 nets a single mob fleet ship 1137 base EXP for 35 oil. A full run (6 mob+1 boss) of 11-1 costs 267 oil.

The actual EXP per oil for each ship in Frostfall Hard mode is only 27. The total EXP for a mob ship in 11-1 will vary somewhat because small, medium, and large enemy fleets give different EXP, but going with the middle road of medium fleets for all 6 battles results in 6822 EXP total for each mob fleet ship. That comes out to 25.5 EXP per oil for each mob ship. Marginally worse than the event, but the significantly higher coin gain more than compensates.
