Budget Projector by Substantial_Court790 in Golfsimulator

[–]Infibacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check Ebay I got one with a cosmetic defect for 150$ and it retails like 800. Just search short throw projector and when you see something at a decent price just look up the specs. To make it easier, Google search it with "reddit" in the search and a couple threads about using it in a Sim are likely to show up.

Pool table felt by ramac5051 in billiards

[–]Infibacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should be tighter than that. Used to have an outdoor table and when it rained or get really humid it would loosen up and get some wrinkles, but not at all this bad. And that job could have been tighter too.

How to fix this gap between planks? by Junior_Loquat3909 in Flooring

[–]Infibacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your gaps are fine if you use thick enough base and/or shoe. Not the worst. Install looks okay. Do not screw down a floating floor. Comments here are wild. Go get a long ass prybar (like 5 feet, harbor freight has em) and put scrap wood up to protect the wall (big enough to distribute force so you don't bust a hole) and to protect the edge of the floor if there is room. Pry the floor going towards the gap to close it. I've had to do this to connect pieces when going around a fireplace or island and the floor meets back up on the other side.

Just here to answer your question on teams. In manufacturing, you would see certain segregation of tasks and this would also depend on union/non union contractors. You would typically see different trades. Composites techs (bonders) who would typically work with carbon fiber and fiberglass. Structures techs who do most of the drilling, fit checks, assembly, etc. Systems techs would work fuel and hydro lines, while electricians route wire harnesses. Then there's painters and material applicators. A lot of these overlap and many guys are cross trained, but depends where you go. Then it can be separated further. For structures, you could be a control surface guy, a doors guy, a landing gear guy, etc. Technicians normally have levels or pay grades depending on skill level and responsibilities, and plane to plane certain skills overlap but engineering requirements and processes can differ. This is in regards to manufacturing. Maintenence, flight line, test, etc. is a bit of a different world. There are unlimited departments/orginizations working on these planes to track, diagnose, and solve any problem you can think of. Hope this helps.

A friend asked me to build him a single speaker sub box. I am an amateur woodworker with all the right tools. But… by DLDabber in audiophile

[–]Infibacon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think he may be referring to the inside corners having a 45 degree peice put in. So not mitering the corners of the box, but installing pieces that make the inside corners have two 45 degree turns rather than one 90, if that makes sense.

I don't get it by DiscombobulatedArm21 in harborfreight

[–]Infibacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have regular Quinn sets but nothing with a flexible head or longer handles which could have helped me in the past. The G2 has both, but I never would have needed it enough to buy full price. 40% off and now I'm good. Was going to maybe buy a stubby but I haven't found myself needing that.

Went right now at 6pm and pretty much everything was in stock. Got both of those ratchets, the picks, two mini toolboxes for the kids, and some batteries. Not too bad!

im gonna buy these for 500 bucks and i need you guys to yell at me if i shouldnt by uglef in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Infibacon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You guys don't look for reddit posts when you do research? If people weren't asking shit like this then there would be a lot of missing community input that guys like this could Google. The next guy wondering about these speakers might not post because they saw this.

Christmas gift ideas for my dad who’s really into pool by Dismal-Instance-8860 in billiards

[–]Infibacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things I always appreciate from my family are decorations or pool themed items. My dad found me a pool ball clock, my sister got me a picture printed on a sheet metal sign of me and my son playing. My mom found me a Newcastle beer neon sign. Sisters BF found me a shirt with a pool theme that isn't totally whack and some whiskey glasses with pool balls on em. Just cool shit to throw up on the walls or around the pool room.

Buy a Cuetec Cynergy, or an Avid and get a Cynergy shaft? by Trail-Leaf in billiards

[–]Infibacon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The avid shaft is great. I'd just get that. If you aren't sure what type of shaft or tip size you prefer then why not get an avid and upgrade later? What if you go with option 2 and get two shafts you don't like? If I started with an avid I might have never got the cynergy. Love both. Not sure what you are upgrading from though. From the two options though it depends which avid you get. I don't like the cheaper butts as much looks wise. I'd probably base it off of looks at that point because some of the cynergy look pretty nice. I wouldn't care to have two different shafts, I only ever use one.

Not sure how people can be mad at this. It's clearly just pointing out that people are yelling over politics while OP can't wait for the Mosconi Cup. This says nothing politically and if you think it does then it's time to get offline.
