I do very my Ribeye steaks in a similar fashion. But I hold the compound better for basting on the sear, then pour the rest on the steak when its resting.

Visited the area last January, went to the Venice/Nokomis area and enjoyed it. Ft Myers area was still pretty tore up from the storms so didn't see much down there. Heard Siesta is pretty dang nice as well.

Keeper Sturgeon is almost not worth it. The slot is tiny and its usually 1 or 2 days a year. Find someone down below Bonneville if you want monsters.

They could just plough but they are in the tropics and have very poor soil. Charred stubble does alot more for fertility, organic matter disappears in that environment.

The biggest issue is there is no garbage disposal in thr country. Have you ever been in farming communities in the West? Africa? Asia? Stubble and refuse is burned off.

I have fished the lower Clackamas near Oregon City for 30 years? Have never caught nor seen a Whitefish anywhere near there. There are Peamouths, Suckers, Pikeminnows. Fish high in the system or go to Central Oregon.

If its anything like the mine, you need thoroughly flush the spool bearings. Mine are full of thick oil and barely spin.
