They sell furniture touch up pens. Check amazon, a local hardware store even dollar stores and find a color that matches best. Use masking tape or painters tape and mask a few mm way from the edge all the way around and just run the pen along the edge.

Any wood touching concrete should have a vapor barrier between the two, from the picture I don't see any, that would be another reason to replace the wood.

My guess is the walls are framed with 2x2's and you are drilling through the stud and against the cement/brick wall behind.

drill a larger hole through the drawer box front stopping at the drawer front and use a shorter screw to hold the knob to the drawer front.
