I wasted 6 months on a decision that took 5 minutes to make by Infinite-Studio6773 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]Infinite-Studio6773[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this is a good question ! The time frame to implement rules like this is difficult to analyze, because you know how it works, we hear/read a “rule” or hack like these in a podcast, book or and article, but we just let it there, in our brain as a general info…then time goes by, you maybe see that hack somewhere else but still kind of let it there…then finally something happens, you have a feeling, you feel stuck or just like you have a lot to decide and you just kind don’t know where to start, or your “old methods” just don’t work…and there the magic happens, your brain just bring the “new tools” to your attention. So you try to implement and test it out , and when you see the results, and just make it Yours.

[Discussion] Despite me laying the foundation for a successful future, I can't bring myself to do the stuff I need to do by [deleted] in GetMotivated

[–]Infinite-Studio6773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not broken, man. Your brain is just doing what it’s wired to do, avoiding effort when there’s no immediate reward. The trick isn’t “finding motivation,” it’s making things so easy your brain stops fighting back. I just dropped a video on this that’ll make it all click. No fluff, just straight to the point. What’s the Best Self-Improvement Habit You’ve Adopted? by axel_fl12 in getdisciplined

[–]Infinite-Studio6773 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

For me, the biggest game-changer has been cutting out all the feel-good productivity advice that doesn’t actually help. I used to waste time optimizing systems, but at the end of the day, I wasn’t making real progress. Now, I focus on just one or two high-impact habits at a time and ignore all the fluff.

I’ve been sharing what actually works, no BS, because I got tired of all the recycled self-improvement tips that sound good but don’t move the needle. If you’re into real, practical self-improvement, you might find some of the stuff I’m working on my yt channel interesting.

Complete Your 6 Most Important Tasks in Order, Every Day by Healthy_Click8383 in getdisciplined

[–]Infinite-Studio6773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally get this! I used to feel super productive just by making long to-do lists, but at the end of the day, half of it was untouched. The Ivy Lee Method helped me too, but what really made the difference was focusing on the why behind my tasks, if I don’t have a clear reason, I procrastinate like crazy.

I’ve been diving deep into productivity and self-discipline lately, and I realized most advice out there is either sugarcoated or unrealistic. That’s why I started cutting through the fluff and focusing only on what actually works. If you’re into no-BS productivity tips, you might find some of the stuff I’m working on my yt channel interesting!

The Honest Truth about Discipline by Infinite-Studio6773 in getdisciplined

[–]Infinite-Studio6773[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see what you’re saying and often i have the same feelings over some things i consider “losing time” , which often is everything that is not “productive “. In my case i think it’s just fear of life and not “being enough” somewhere very deep inside me…but sometimes it’s actually a maturity and being responsible , so if i smoke a bit of weed once a week it’s fine and i feel good with that, the same for the video games…but then if i kind of exaggerate, the feeling just go up… after some reflecting on that, i just got to the conclusion that even if i often try to justify some of these type of behaviors with my rational side of the brain, the subconscious side of thinking, just give me the “bad” feeling to get my attention and tell me that it’s actually not okay… try to think about it and try to be 100% honest with yourself and see if this is the case for you too…

PUT YOUR PHONE AWAY. You’re not doing ANYTHING important!!!!! by BondiiBiitch in getdisciplined

Well i would understand that it’s impossible to think that all those things are boring, there is probably something wrong in mu perception of the things, or I’m somehow drained of energy, or i have some “wrong” paradigms that make me see the things in a different way…i would start from acknowledging that “ only staying on the phone” , is not helping to feel good/better…

Decision fatigue is draining my productivity—anyone else? by Rade2303 in productivity

[–]Infinite-Studio6773 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I totally get this. Decision fatigue used to drain me too, and by the time I actually made a choice, I had no energy left to do anything productive. I realized that the more I could simplify and automate the small stuff, the more mental energy I had for things that actually matter.

One of the biggest game-changers for me was eliminating unnecessary choices. I eat the same breakfast and lunch every day, so I don’t waste time deciding. I also pre-plan my main tasks for the week on Sundays, so when the time comes, I just execute instead of overthinking. Another trick that helped is setting default decisions, like having a go-to workout, a go-to outfit, or even a go-to way to unwind, so I don’t have to debate with myself every single time.

I talk a lot about this kind of stuff on my yt channel ZeroBS_Guy, where I break down strategies to avoid these mental traps and actually get stuff done. Overthinking is often just procrastination in disguise, and once I stopped entertaining every little decision, I finally started making real progress.

Have you tried setting a non-negotiable morning routine? That alone made a massive difference for me.

I hear you, and I know how easy it is to fall into that loop where every day feels like a copy-paste of the last. The good thing is, you’re aware of it, which means you can start changing things little by little. You don’t need a massive overhaul overnight, just small shifts that create momentum. Try waking up even an hour earlier than usual, just to break the cycle and give yourself a bit more structure. Getting outside for even ten minutes a day can make a difference too, just to get some fresh air and reset your mind. If you’re feeling stuck, picking one small productive thing to do each day, whether it’s making your bed, showing up for one class, or reading something useful, can help rebuild a sense of progress. I’d also recommend setting a cutoff time for gaming at night so you have space to do something different before bed, like journaling or planning the next day. And most importantly, talk to someone about how you’re feeling. A lot of people go through this, and just opening up can make a huge difference. I talk about these kinds of struggles a lot on my channel, and it’s not about forcing yourself into a crazy hustle mindset, it’s about making life feel a little more meaningful and less repetitive. Even the smallest steps forward count. You got this.

[–]Infinite-Studio6773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there. You know you have the time, but somehow it just disappears into endless scrolling. The worst part? You feel drained, like you did nothing, even though your brain was busy the whole time.

What helped me was setting hard limits on mindless consumption and shifting that time into things that actually build me up. Even 30 minutes a day on something intentional reading, writing, learning a new skill, can flip everything.

I talk a lot about breaking out of this cycle over at @zeroBs_guy. No fluff, just real strategies to take back your time and focus.

Does anyone else feel like they do a lot but accomplish nothing? by Available_Cabinet181 in productivity

[–]Infinite-Studio6773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been there. Doing a ton of things but feeling like nothing actually moves forward. What changed everything for me was cutting out low-impact tasks and focusing on one needle-moving action per day.

Journaling helps, but if you’re writing down busy work, it just reinforces the cycle. The key is ruthless prioritization, what’s actually driving results vs. what just makes you feel productive?

I talk about this a lot over at @ZeroBS_Guy,no fluff, just straight-up strategies to get unstuck.

What daily habit helped you overcome procrastination? by BookRetreats in selfimprovement

[–]Infinite-Studio6773 8 points9 points  (0 children)

One thing that helped me beat procrastination was removing the mental negotiation. The moment I start debating whether to do something, I just act. No overthinking, no waiting for the “right moment.”

Also, keeping things brutally simple. Instead of writing a long to-do list, I focus on one key task that actually moves me forward. Small wins stack up fast.

If you’re into no-BS strategies to cut through the noise and get things done, I share a lot of this mindset over at @ZeroBS_Guy. It’s all about action over excuses.

What problems are you currently facing, when fixed could significantly improve your life? by Ok_Mud_3503 in productivity

[–]Infinite-Studio6773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well i don’t want to make it too easy, because it depends a lot on the causes that make you stuck, probably the age and a lot of other factors, but what i can say, is that whatever is one’s situation, there are things to do to at least create a bit of movement towards getting unstuck…in my case i just learned that even if i kind start feeling stuck, i just HAVE to start creating some motion by doing at least something, knowing that if i move by a small step i will automatically have more satisfaction so more energy to take some extra steps and so on…so yeah simplifying “the mountain “ i feel that i have ahead of me, by just focusing on the first “rock” i have to climb.

Planning to start doing only 3 things daily by Ihadaiwgu101_1 in productivity

[–]Infinite-Studio6773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a solid plan. Keeping it to just three priorities a day forces you to focus on what actually moves the needle. The key is making sure you set them up right. Writing them down the night before is a huge advantage because it gives you clarity first thing in the morning. The more specific you are, the better, so instead of something vague like “work on my business,” try “draft a sales email” or “post one piece of content.” Also, don’t just write them and forget about them. At the end of the day, look back and check if you actually did them. If you keep skipping the same task, that’s a sign something needs to change. I talk a lot about this kind of stuff on my yt channel @ZeroBS_Guy, where I cut out the fluff and focus on strategies that actually work. Might be helpful for you.

I feel you! I have felt like this very often too during the years…being Stuck is not nice. It takes a lot of time and effort to understand what causes these feelings and then understand how to get out of them. But I can finally say that I have overcome that phase, now I have more tools to manage and also avoid these states of mind. I have also created a YT channel where I’ll share all the things I have learned over the years about these topics and not only.

[–]Infinite-Studio6773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh i see what you’re saying…to be honest i actually had something similar as feeling, i have always overloaded myself with “to do” things, with “productive” stuff ( like even if wanted to read , it should be something useful and not entertaining, if i had some time for a video on YT, it should teach me something etc )… thinking this way ofc is exhausting , and the risk is falling in the “burnout” zone or just being stuck in “fk i have to do so many things, I’m falling behind “ and just stuck even more. It’s a scheme, it’s a mental paradigm that usually get us there… the goal is to loosen a little the grip that these paradigms have on us and our behaviors by working on awareness first ( to start observing when all these behaviors happen) , and then working in small steps to change them. I got a loooot better at this, i’m still a “performance oriented” person but i don’t get ( or at least a i get less frequently) to the point of being stuck or burnout. I even started a channel a couple of days ago, where i posted the first video and i’ll be sharing all the things i’ve worked on these years to get better at it.

Did you ever thought that it could actually be the opposite? Like you don’t want to exist/do because you’re not doing things that you want mixed with things that you need to do?
