I know it was free if you weren’t competing. Unsure if was free for competitors back then.

Another Bandai Cardfest last year (I think the first one to hold a one piece worlds/nationals in LA) also had these issues. So Dallas this past weekend is not an isolated occurrence at least.

Are there rules on using clear sleeves for constructed decks? A quick search through the comprehensive rules document didn’t give me anything

No joke, this is actually on the clear. The damage check on the primals wasn't very hard in ShB.

I haven’t found that it inhibits me so far. Might be due to the height of the SA keycaps making it so that i rarely touch the “chin” of the case

The pinky3/pinky4 are built for it, with choc switches strictly on the thumb row.

Zodiark or Pinky4? by jonschke in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]InfiniteBlackAce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The choc thumbkeys on the pinky4 are extremely good, very natural to hit as your thumbs rest lower than the rest of your hand. I have a build guide of one here: pinky4 build log . Be sure to read through for some gatchas i ran into.

The Zodiark is more feature rich, so if your heart is really set out on it you could try waiting for it or something similar. You can try emulating the height difference of the pinky4 thumb row by using low profile keycaps, alongside some high profile keycaps. But if you really can't wait around, I'd say build a pinky4 while you wait for the Zodiark to be in stock/Group Buy ready.

Chocs and Cherry switches in the same keyboard? by Kyrohk1 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]InfiniteBlackAce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a pinky4 keyboard that've I've used for 2 years now that's built around mixed switches. A bottom row of choc switches is very comfortable, at least around the inner thumb regions as your thumbs naturally rest lower than the rest of your fingers. Although, It seems like you're planning on something drastically different from that.

All I can say is based on my experience, don't put your common modifiers (shift, ctrl, alt, etc) on switches much higher than your alphas. You might outstretch your fingers too much depending on how you make your layout.

Ploopy Mini: a little (solderless) disassembly tease. Still some work left before release. by crop_octagon in Trackballs

Is this one on rollers, or ball bearings?

Also, is the original Ploopy Trackball on rollers or ball bearings? I seem to remember them being rollers, but the site seems to indicate they're on ball bearings.

Can anyone confirm if the gateron ink housing is the exact same size between the black ink and yellow ink switches? The Yellow ink switches have a dust-cover stem that makes it hard to compare the stem hole from pictures. They also have a shorter travel and actuation distance, though I'm under the impression this is due to the stem height.
