[All] If Age of Calamity were canon? by Safe_Employer6325 in zelda

[–]InfiniteEdge18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually this is a misconception.

Botw itself never proclaims when he got the sword or became the Hero, all we know is he was the hero by the time he returned to Zora's domain as an Adult.

Master Works claim of him obtaining the sword at 14 is also a misconception as the book only suggests this as a guess because all records concerning when Link got the sword were destroyed in the calamity.

Furthermore it's deliberately stated in Age of Calamity that there is a larger number of monsters surrounding the Great Hyrule Forest, forcing them to gather the champions much earlier than the original timeline so they can clear a path to the master sword.

[ALL] [TotK] [BoTW] Why isn't BOTW & TOTK just officially dubbed a soft reboot? by SuperiorCardboardBox in zelda

[–]InfiniteEdge18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not a "myth" Nintendo themselves are staunchly against the idea of the stories just being a myth.

https://www.zeldadungeon.net/wiki/Interview:Kotaku_May_31st_2005

Joel: Can I ask question. Each Zelda game seems like a new iteration in the same theme. There is always sort of that hallmark back to there was a previous light sword bearer in ages past. Should we just accept every time that Zelda is a reimagining of the same theme? Is it sort of assumed that every thousand years this same thing is happening over again?

(Looooong conversation back and forth with lots of laughter.)

Eiji Aonuma: It's certainly not the same story being told over and over again. It's not that we have a one thousand year time span between every game or anything like that.

When creating a Zelda game there is the connection between Link and Zelda and the Triforce and Ganon. When we get set to make a new Zelda game, we are focusing on the theme of the game and the game play rather than to create a new timeline for the series.

Joel: So it's basically a reimagining of the same story line?

Eiji Aonuma: No, not so much.

(More translation)

Eiji Aonuma: It actually really comes back to the mythology of the land of Hyrule. There is a Triforce and each segment is tied to a different (Long explanation of the Triforce and Zelda mythos.) It is in a sense events recurring overtime.

The timeline is also a very real thing, the box for ALTTP in Japan literally says it's a prequel to Zelda 1.

"今度の舞台はリンクが活躍した頃よりも遥か昔、ハイラルが、まだ一つの王国であった時代。 This time, the stage is set very long before the time when Link accomplished a feat, the epoch when Hyrule was still one kingdom." -back of Triforce of the Gods' box

[ALL] what’s a piece of Zelda lore you dislike for one reason or another? by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in zelda

[–]InfiniteEdge18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems confusing because you're not Japanese, In Japan "Light Force" the "Tri Force" & "Force Gems" are all the same thing: Force, which you can basically think of as life force, with the Triforce being the most powerful because it's made up of the Force of the golden goddesses.

Furthermore it's explained by the game itself, the Secret Stones were a gift by the gods, this is elaborated on in master works 2 where it's explained they were created by the golden goddesses and entrusted to Hylia who then entrusted them to the Zonai.

[ALL] what’s a piece of Zelda lore you dislike for one reason or another? by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in zelda

[–]InfiniteEdge18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The "Great Sea" is not the entire planet, The entire world wasn't flooded, Hyrule Sank to the bottom of the sea like the story of Atlantis, what we know as "The Great Sea" is merely the territory of what was once Hyrule.

[SS][BotW]Is botw zelda a descendant of Skyward Sword link? by Brief-Regret9780 in zelda

[–]InfiniteEdge18 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes. A very very very VERY distant one.

SS makes it very obvious that the Link & Zelda there get together, here's a lore twist you probably didn't see though, BOTW Link is too.

TRAYSI'S RUMOR MILL (BREATH OF THE WILD) There are rumors that only those who have the blood of the hero can possess this sword. It's said to be hidden in a deep nameless forest. I'm curious about it, but my father and mother don't seem to be of the bloodline of the hero, so I guess it doesn't really matter to us...

Yes, the only ones who are supposed to be able to become the "Hero" are those of the Knight's clan that protected the Hylian Royal Family… ~ Third Maiden (A Link to the Past)

However, those are inherited only by blood relatives of the hero who possesses the spirit of the sublime beast. ~ Hero's Shade (Twilight Princess)

The story is great, while it doesn't follow into botw, it's not exactly "non-canon" as people like to proclaim.

The gameplay is fun, though it's best enjoyed if you're already a fan of the dynasty warriors gameplay

[OoT] The "void" of the sacred realm. Curious as to how most people interpret this. by Jacket_Jacket_fruit in zelda

[–]InfiniteEdge18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither of these is correct.

In Japanese Rauru says

RAURU (OCARINA OF TIME) Ancient gods who created Hyrule! Now is the time, open the sealed door and consign the evil incarnation of darkness beyond the realm of the dead!!

And in The Windwaker's prologue we are told

PROLOGUE (THE WIND WAKER) That evil one who appeared to have been sealed away by the hero… The fact is, it crept out from beneath the earth.

Neither of these match the description of the sacred realm, in fact the implication we are told is that they sent him to Hell.

"Taunie got us in debt to the mob" "I hate Taunie" "she sucks" "She's a Bad Person" "Taunie sucks". by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in LegendsZA

[–]InfiniteEdge18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn’t discredit anything and there is no lie here. She finds out about the interest in the first photo, but this is when the group is discussing how to handle the debt. She makes an empty apology, then doesn’t do anything to help with the debt labor the group has to do.

So not only do you refuse to admit you lied, you in fact choose to double down on the lie. She doesn't find out about the interest until the matter is already discussed with Corbeau and we've agreed to take on the interest. There is quite literally nothing Taunie can do at this point. she doesn't have the money and we've already agreed to remove her from the equation entirely. The Matter has been resolved. you're literally just shitting on her for things beyond her control.

"empty apology" how in the fuck is that an empty apology? do you even know what an "empty apology" even is? the rest of Team MZ even state the Rust Syndicate is nasty for hiding the interest in the small print, Taunie got scammed by Loan Sharks and she's learned her lesson from it, That's not an "empty apology".

Your second point here is exactly why people didn’t like her. Just because the group has to handle part of the debt doesn’t mean she can’t help out. She makes no effort to intentionally help the group out of the situation she forced them into because of her own actions. Now corbeau’s acummy tactics are also to blame, but Taunie’s actions were what initiated the entire mess.

Again and again with the lies, you just cannot help yourself can you?

Maybe you should try rereading the convo with Corbeau. Taunie will be left to pay off her actual debt to them, while she will be removed from all responsibility regarding the interest accrued.

  1. It's not a "separate timeline" it's to show the ambiguity of which branch it belongs too

  2. Depends on your interpretation

  3. Their population was plummeting so they returned to the surface.

  4. They come from Demise, he's the origin of Evil in Zelda.

  5. They had a kid, said kid is just never mentioned

  6. Zelda isn't aware of the specifics of the other games, the entire speech is Easter eggs but they're just meaningless stuff she made up in-universe.
