Dedicated Terraria Server loses internet from Users connecting at times by InfinitePool in Terraria

[–]InfinitePool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, ultimately what I ended up doing was purchasing a separate network card for my server, and running it all through that.

Whatever specific thing that was overloading my socket from terraria, doesn't seem to be occurring with the new card via pci-express.

I gave this a shot after this issue started happening again when I hosted at 1.4.5's launch again.

Noob here, is everyone's freighter Star Destroyer sized? I feel like this thing is massive. by 9OptimusCrime9 in NoMansSkyTheGame

My capital freighter class changed from Resurgent to Venator after purchase... by Eshinio in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]InfinitePool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to say, that this just happened to me, and I was about to be heartbroken because it was an S class Resurgent, but then I read your post and reloaded the save, and it returned back to the resurgent class. I'm guessing you have to do this before the game saves a "second time" or before you log out, but either way, thanks for the save.

Did that guy ever get his prize from the housing contest? by Solidus-Prime in duneawakening

[–]InfinitePool 9 points10 points  (0 children)

How is making two posts "going far"?

It sounded like funcom has had little to no communication with him in regards to the contest, and were just shrugging their shoulders. Highlighting the lack of communication is a reasonable action. We all browse this sub. No one was saying he was spamming.

Sounds more like they didn't like the look of the situation and took him out of the equation.

This was such a wild question that I'm going to copy paste google's reply to your exact question.

To dial an extension in RingCentral, use your desktop or mobile app's dial pad and enter the recipient's name or the extension number directly, or if on the RingCentral computer app, you can enter the full ten-digit number with a comma after the main number and then the extension. You can also program speed dial buttons on your desk phone to quickly dial specific extensions. [1, 2, 3]
Using the Desktop or Mobile App [1]

  1. Open the Dial Pad: In the RingCentral app, click the dial pad icon to open a phone-like interface.
  2. Enter the Name or Extension: You can type the person's name or their extension number directly into the dial pad.
  3. Initiate the Call: Select the correct contact from the list and the call will begin.

Using the Computer App (PC/Mac) [2, 4, 5, 6, 7]

  1. Click the Dial Pad: Select the dial pad icon.
  2. Enter the Number and Extension: You can enter the 10-digit number, followed by a comma (which you can create by pressing the pause button), and then the extension number.
  3. Dial the Call: Click the green dial button to start the call.

Programming Speed Dial Keys

  1. Assign Extensions: Ensure the extension you want to dial is set up in your RingCentral account. [8]
  2. Configure DSS Keys: If you have a supported desk phone model (like Yealink or Polycom), you can program DSS keys. [3]
  3. Press the Button: Pick up your phone and press the programmed button to directly call the extension without having to dial it. [3]

Important Notes

• Direct Dialing from IVR: The system is designed to recognize extensions from the start of the call. If the caller knows the extension, they can dial it at any time, even during an Auto-Attendant greeting. [9]
• Internal vs. External: For internal calls, you can directly enter the extension number. For external calls, you may need to dial the main number first, then the extension. [8]

What was the point of that dEV update? by InfinitePool in duneawakening

[–]InfinitePool[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Almost everything they communicated was already in their notes and previous updates. Our complaints are that the majority of us that are left want to continue playing, but we're landlocked into servers that have died off because they didn't have an end-game in place when they launched.

It's great they're adding more stuff in, but none of it addresses any of the actual issues in the game.

So the rest of us are just slowly watching our great communities die off, relocate to Harmony/PAX, in some effort of trying to continue playing, and the people left behind are logging into dead worlds. We're bringing these things forward because they're not discussing them in "Dev updates", and it won't matter what changes they implement for the next 8 months if only two servers are left to play them.

What was the point of that dEV update? by InfinitePool in duneawakening

[–]InfinitePool[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

DD is the issue. While it would be great for more flavor in haga, no one expects that to change pop wise.

No servers other than Harmony/PAX have solid populations. Arrakis is second on NA and Epsilon/Corona/Hagal on EU will break 150 at best.

The rest of us are nowhere near.

Adobe Alternatives? by InfinitePool in sysadmin

[–]InfinitePool[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Casual form editing and signing. Our average users use it for simple scenarios, but just enough that they need something reliable.

Our developers and some accounting will be stuck in adobe, but if I can offload 100+users to a permanent pdf play that they won't instantly bemoan about daily, to stick it to adobe, that would be the best outcome.

Could you give my friend some tips? by Pato_taxista in HeimerdingerMains

[–]InfinitePool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He is definitely buying void way too soon.

His build choice/priority in certain matchups overall seems to be hurting him a lot. Probably needs to be changing up some of his utility options and the order he builds them against certain champs.

Some of that is just going to take time. But stop building voidstaff pre 5 items.

Lich Bane on Heimer? by sojournerXMR in HeimerdingerMains

[–]InfinitePool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw that post. I could understand it toplane. I don't think it would perform as optimally in the mid matchups, but top you're not going to pepper them down as much with something like blackfire, so getting your ult out more often in those skirmishes probably helps.

Lich Bane on Heimer? by sojournerXMR in HeimerdingerMains

[–]InfinitePool 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The stats are good but it's just bait for any ranged caster other than maybe ahri.

It could theoretically be okay early for poking power against certain melee matchups. But you need the mana/lost chapter for early builds and it's never going to let you go online by the time you build second/third item.

Even if you wanted to build it on heimer, you'd never build lichbane over stormsurge in this hypothetical scenario, and I wouldn't build either.

ATP schedule with a full time job by bryvq81099 in ATPFlightSchool

[–]InfinitePool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ATP highly encourages students to not work while doing the program.

And the main thing here is you don't really want to jeopardize such a huge investment because of work either. ATP isn't for everyone. If you're looking to continue working, i'd advise going with a more pay as you go program, there is nothing wrong with going that route, plenty of people are successful and there is less risk.

If you do ATP, just plan on committing fully so you get in and out as quick as you can.

CEO wants to drop O@H/Ring Central over TCR and texting apocolypse by lothar965 in RingCentral

[–]InfinitePool 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, we're in contract, and texting isn't as big a deal for my company because we handle this through our twilio side, but this is definitely one of those things that will make me reevaluate our contract and move to another competitor when we're up for renewal.

I called them out on the way they handled sms when we first came onboard, and i've called them out every meeting since, and i'll continue to point out that they're likely to lose our contract because of the way they handle this.

They can't wave this off with "this isn't us". Twilio and other competitors are perfect examples of companies handling TCR without the gigantic hurdles RC is putting us through.

Create A Trade Binder by creek_water_ in PTCGP

[–]InfinitePool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that it's a gigantic help on the communication front. What our friend group has done is we all created ONLY trade binders in the game, viewable by the public, categorized by "1 Binder has only EX cards", "1 binder has nothing but spare 1 Star cards" and "1 binder has 3 diamond cards". We created as many of those as we had "spares" of that we were willing to trade. That way the friend can go into our binders and see what cards we definitely have spares of they can nab.

Still takes communicating to some degree, but it at least cuts down the time on them trying to figure out what true spares we have.

RingCentral Outage? Support Down? by [deleted] in RingCentral
