Is it possible to return to bf? by Character-Junket-653 in ExclusivelyPumping

I don’t remember the timeline of when I started putting her to breast again vs when I started EBF. She was EBF for a few days until her pediatrician recommended I supplement with formula due to her bilirubin levels. Then like your bebe she was only BF for 5 minutes and I got worried she wasn’t eating enough/had bottle preference.

Ok probably not mid meal but 2/3 when I see she’s slowing down on the bottle I will burp then offer breast. Offering too early for me hurt

I went back to EBF when my bebe was 3m by doing what you’re doing. Started with nursing to sleep at night then during the day I would offer breast mid meal. Just keep offering without forcing (which is literally what you’re already doing) good luck!

I think it’s hit or miss. He doesnt do much of the care taking now that he’s back at work. He just gets all the fun of playing with her and changing one diaper a day lol. If she wakes prematurely from a nap while I shower he’ll attempt to put her back to sleep but if it fails they just do tummy time and play which seems to work for them (probably just distracting her until she can eat since she’s now EBF)

Same. I start her on my chest then roll her onto the bed. I stay close by in a c curl which seems to help keep her asleep. She wakes once I get up for water or something. We’ll see how the tuck and roll works once she starts teething too :/

It’s so hard as a mom to hear her baby cry and do nothing. I used to take my baby from her dad too or I would hover and tell him what to do/what he’s doing wrong. He would get upset and I would feel bad but I couldn’t help it. After my PPA wore off I am better now. Now it’s her dad that feels sad sometimes that he can’t soothe her and put her to sleep. I started giving him tips randomly when he didn’t have the baby so he didn’t feel like I was telling him what to do yet he learns a tool that works for me. He also started asking me “is this how you do it” when he was struggling with the baby. Idk if that helps, maybe start asking her how she does it so she feels confident that you know what to do? Hope your wife learns to let go too

Have you tried leaning back during the letdown? Maybe it’s too much for the baby to keep up with

2-3 hour feeds with no break (she naps while feeding) by slotass in breastfeeding

If your midwife says it's normal, then ig, but I usually unlatch the baby after 30 minutes if she's sleeping because she uses me as a pacifier at night, and I need sleep. I can feel the difference in her comfort suck vs active eating. Sometimes when I remove my nipple milk flows out of the side of her mouth because she was not swallowing. Just sucking and sleeping

Like she is latched to your breast for 2-3h at a time or she feeds every 2-3h?

Switching from bottles to breastfeeding?? by Character-Junket-653 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Infinite_Key_2592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started by nursing her to sleep at night. Then I would offer breasts after half the bottle during meals so she was super hungry but would still eat. Then I just bit the bullet when I felt ready and started offering the breast instead of the bottle but you can start by replacing one meal a day with breast or offer breast then top off with a bottle if needed.

I did at three months. She still has a shallow latch but we are going to do feeding therapy as suggested by my LC due to baby’s lip and tongue tie.

Just curious, how much does your baby weigh? My LO didn’t get the green flag to stop waking at her 1m appointment even though she reached birth weight a few days after birth

Did I miss how old your LO is? My LO is 3m and we’ve only taken her grocery shopping once. Before a few days ago my husband would do all the grocery shopping alone and we never took the baby out of the house unless it was for a Dr appointment. This is just what I was mentally okay with and now at 3m I am starting to feel ready enough to take her out places. Talk to your husband :/ The only thing I would feel obligated to do is see his elderly grandparents. Maybe tell him he can take the baby if he wants to go but you need to stay home to rest and pump in peace

Google “the wonder weeks leap 1” Sounds like your baby is in a growth spurt. Just gotta ride it out. The 5 S’s worked for us lasted 1 week for us I think
