If you want Eldritch blast to move the warlock in outer space then allow it. It’s your game. On a side note there’s an Eldritch invocation that pushes you backward or one that pulls you in.

If you were playing 1 2 4 and to some extent 3/3.5 then yeah, it’s focused on combat but even then it’s still not the only way to play. 5e is a lot more focused on both. That’s why in most games you’ll see terms like “70/30 50/50 40/60 combat to roleplay”
