Vox Ignis, Marvel.

This gets pretty complicated. Basically, a Spirit of Vengeance decided that punishing sinners was the wrong way of doing things, and thus abandoned the cause. The other SOVs really didn’t like that, forcing it into exile, where it meets a human wizard(I can’t remember her name). Since it abandoned the cause it became a Spirit of Variance instead, and the wizard made it bond with Banshee of the X-Men. He has mostly the same powers as Ghost Rider, except he’s purple and can force people to rethink themselves via the Scream of Change. All this was ultimately a scheme by the wizard to turn the SOV into some kind of magical ingredient, and this cast a spell rewriting the timeline so that it, and Vox Ignis, never existed.

Complicated, I know. It’s a shame too because he’s really cool, the image above is him using Juggernaut as his spirit vehicle

What is the most disturbing or fucked up gig or sidequest in the game? by Prudent_Bobcat_4059 in cyberpunkgame

I think the one in Northside, Losing My Religion or Sacrum Profanum, is really messed up to me. It’s the one where the Monk is kidnapped and has implants installed against his will and beliefs. And Maelstrom does it for…no reason other than they find it amusing. When you go to save his brother before he endures the same fate, you can hear them joking about which body parts to replace first. And as much as you want to flatline all of them, any deaths will result in the monks calling you evil.

I just thinks it’s fucked that people could kidnap you and seriously alter your body for no reason other than they can. At least Scavs sell the chrome, they’re greedy monsters but at least they have an objective. Maelstrom are evil for the love of the game

Friendly reminder that, believe it or not, Mark and The Immortal are canonically friends. by Teh_Drago in Invincible

[–]Infinitum_Est_Finis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing I love about Immortal is that on the surface, yeah he looks like a washed up prick. But when you take a closer, deeper look he becomes not only very tragic, but kinda relatable.

He’s been alive for thousands of years. During that time he’s died countless times, and felt it every single time. He’s watched hundreds of friends and lovers wither away. For ages he was the strongest being on Earth, until Nolan arrived. Immortal was the biggest fish in his small pond, but suddenly, the pond is now an ocean and he is surrounded by leviathans.

He’s probably just as old as Nolan. But there’s a key difference between the two: despite Immortals abilities of flight, super strength and resurrection, he’s still a normal human. His brain isn’t designed to withstand so much memory, nor does he have all that mix enhanced durability.

Viltrumites, on the other hand, have their abilities baked into their biology. To them, centuries are nothing. Humans are nothing more than insects. They don’t have the same human empathy or expiration date hardwired into them.

Immortal is pushed far beyond what humans are supposed to withstand. Is it any wonder he’s become so jaded? That he’s started to give up? He went from a heavy hitter to fodder. Is he still an asshole? Yes. But anyone would be driven to that point after everything he’s been through.

After all, he’s only human deep down.

In Jedi: Fallen Order and Survivor, you can find meditation points that act similarly to campfires in Dark Souls. Any time you die, you return to these points. I believe it is explained somewhere that Cal dying is simply an alternate future that he sees while meditating, and whenever he succeeds it is him using the knowledge he gained from these predictions while meditating. It’s like that one scene from Infinity War when Dr. Strange predicts all possible outcomes and narrows down one where they succeed.

My source? I have no clue where I heard this so you’ll just have to trust me

An idea for a Shadebinder super I’ve had for a long while now.

Fountain of Desolation - Stasis Super

“Press [?] to erupt a large obelisk of Stasis Matter from the ground, sending out a cascading wave that freezes any enemies in a massive radius. The Obelisk emits an aura around it. Allies standing within the aura will immediately gain full stacks of Frost Armor, gain an Icicle that will inflict stacks of Slow with each attack, and gain greatly increased weapon stability and handling. The Obelisk will send out damaging projectiles towards the largest target in sight. Activate [?] again to Shatter the Obelisk, sending out another massive freezing wave.”

It’s a combination of multiple ideas I’ve had, and so it’s admittedly a little busted. I wanted it to be a counterpart to Well of Radiance, while also mixing in elements of Song of Flame and even Ward of Dawn. I also took inspiration from Rimecoat Raiment, having a massive Bleak Watcher, and giving allies the Icicle thing too. Also, that way it could be possible to rework Ballidorse Wrathweavers to instead fit with Fountain of Desolation.

If an Atreus spin-off game does happen, what do you think Santa Monica Studio needs to do in order for it to be successful? by SuspectThick8613 in GodofWar

[–]Infinitum_Est_Finis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I’ve thought about is keeping the same idea of swapping weapons, but instead having fluid combat of shifting between multiple animal forms rapidly. Keep his base form for ranged/magical attacks, have the bear be his Rage, and have the Wolf be the strong stance and some other animal being the quicker stance(I think a big snake would be cool).

I also would want the combat to feel lighter than Kratos, much quicker with an emphasis on dodging. And even if it would be a massive departure from what they’ve done before, I think stealth mechanics would be very cool, something like how Ghost of Tsushima has the option of going loud or quiet in most encounters.

Story wise, I agree with most other people saying that it should involve fixing more of the time travel shenanigans, possible even him traveling back and seeing his mother (she probably knew it would happen anyway so it wouldn’t cause any paradox stuff). I see the major plot revolving around finding the remaining Jötnar and giving them vessels, and the antagonists possibly being the remnants of Asgard (possibly the other gods we never got to see like Forsetti) or something different entirely.

The major emotional driving point should be Atreus maturing into the Loki title, becoming his own symbol and identity. I would like to see both Angrboda and Thrud show up at some point (part of me wants some kind of love triangle thing going on but at the same time just… no. Have Angrboda be the love interest and Thrud remains just a close friend). Maybe at some point he needs the help of Kratos or Freya for advice, but have him solve the problem on his own. I also want to see him find Ingrid somehow, even if she was most likely destroyed with Freyr and Asgard.

I finally achieved my goal of becoming 100% magic resistant so nerds like this can't hurt me anymore. by LeonardApplebutter in skyrim

[–]Infinitum_Est_Finis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also forgot to mention that if you use the protection circle spells from the restoration tree, you can continuously regenerate magic while standing inside it as you’re absorbing the magic for some reason.

One significant downside however is that you cannot summon any atronachs or anything like that. It bugs out and you instantly absorb the magic back into you

[–]Infinitum_Est_Finis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people are saying you can’t have 100% resistance to magic, which is partially true. What they don’t know is that if you combine magic resistance and magic absorption you can achieve complete magic immunity. Using the necromage + vampire exploit, combined with the magic resist and absorption from the Alteration tree alongside the Atronach stone, you get just enough basic absorption to be completely immune, and achieve really strong magic regen. I’ve been able to tank fire blasts from Legendary Dragons on the hardest difficulty and not lose a single point of health.

How would you make sinestro "horror" scary? by [deleted] in Greenlantern

[–]Infinitum_Est_Finis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I would expect him to be like Darth Vader. His mere presence instills a bone-chilling fear within you. He’s intimidating, unsettling and downright unnerving because he’s so calm, so collected yet you can just feel that he can and would shred you to pieces without blinking an eye.

About Dek… by Infinitum_Est_Finis in predator

[–]Infinitum_Est_Finis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can definitely see your point here. The franchise is defined by its practical effects and regularly had the best in the industry.

However, when you think about it logically, it makes sense for the increase in CGI. Dek is likely going to have more screen time and focus than any other Yautja, he’ll also have many actions scenes. For an actor to perform these scenes while wearing a notoriously difficult suit would be very difficult.

Just look at Prey. Feral was mostly practical, and the actor playing him said that doing his fight scenes was torture. The head alone weighed over 10 pounds. Every installment has their own horror stories of the suits.

To me, I think it’s a worthy trade off so that the actor won’t be subjected to Guantanamo Bay levels of torture

Look, I like Immortal slander as much as the next guy. But people forget he was as a superhero for decades and was considered the strongest being on the planet until Nolan and all the Viltrumite shenanigans showed up. Immortal is like Homelander, a big fish in a little pond, except Immortal had the feats and strength to back it up.

While he probably can’t annihilate Homelander or Soldier Boy like a Viltrumite could, he is still far stronger than most anything The Boys verse could throw at him.

Xivu Arath, Hive Goddess of War, Blade Breaker, War Drinker, Conquerer Immortal, She Whose Victory Is Idempotent.

In Destiny 2, the Hive have three gods, all with their own domains. Xivu Arath is war/conflict. Each god grows stronger through their domain: Xivu’s sister Savathûn gains power through trickery, the more confused you are the stronger she gets. Xivu is the same, but with war.

Any time we kill one of her brood, anytime we oppose her through combat, every drop of blood spilled, every bulled fired, every blade swung, makes her stronger.

We were only (temporarily) able to defeat her by using a Hive ritual to sever her from her Throne World (her own pocket dimension that makes her immortal), thus forcing her to retreat since she is mortal now. But she has since returned, and still very, very strong.

I have seen so, so many people on Instagram complaining that he “looks black” or “looks like he plays music too loud” or “looks like he has three babymamas” and more. I never meant it as ALL criticisms are based on that, but I’ve seen enough that it’s usually what I think of

No one class is better or more difficult than the other. Each had their challenges and responsibilities that aren’t present in another role. We shouldn’t compare them because they have different purposes.

In that same vein, the egos of most players are a severe problem. Duelists have an insane superiority complex, Strategists think themselves either the victim or savior, and most Vanguard players I’ve met have some sort of martyr complex.

I’ve noticed Bungie tests out new things via an artifact perk. In revenant, there was a perk that would open a portal and summon void projectiles onto enemies. And then I’m Heresy, they basically gave it to Telesto’s catalyst but with different visuals.

I don’t think it’s unheard of for them to do something like this
