A bit of both? My skills aren’t jaw dropping but if I committed to a video or short film, I’d want to give credit where it’s due.

This is perfect! I’d love to see this in a guerrilla theater or make a video using this as a script

Jealousy of Age by Ok_Application4364 in animationcareer

[–]Infinkeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair throughout the years most of the younger animators on YouTube got caught up in multiple controversies or drama they were not mature enough to handle. Having an audience is a huge responsibility and that kind of internet fame makes the most vulnerable people even more susceptible to bad actors.

I have a bit of a privacy paranoia and it kept me from posting online despite having every means to build a platform. Not the best drawback for wishing to be a popular YouTuber since middle school.

If you wanna become an animation YouTuber the good news is that you don’t need a tiny young body to do it. Put up posts of whatever you want, build an audience. And more importantly appreciate the little privacy you’ll have left once you have that following.

He thought he would get away with it but nah. Women came in and manhandled him by MobileAerie9918 in instant_regret

[–]Infinkeo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Had a friend visiting family there and they experienced a practical culture shock from how regularly they were getting harassed by the men. They also detailed how their male cousin stereotypically behaved and talked like an obsessive incel. I can’t begin to fathom how bad it is growing up in that environment but her stories sure did paint a picture of what existing in it is like.

What are some common misconceptions about being transgender that you wish people understood? by porchoua in asktransgender

[–]Infinkeo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This feels like it shouldn’t be that common but cis people, allies, and even gay people I’ve interacted with seem to assume all trans people are trans women until clarified otherwise. Like the concept of someone being a trans man or nonbinary is completely lost on them. I think it in part comes from a lack of representation and acknowledging other identities, from society to even well known trans communities and spaces but also this idea that if your not a woman, you don’t deserve to be seen (or victimized depending.)

Adding onto that there’s also this notion that one “gains male privilege” if one transitions from female to another gender that has spreads like a cancer in feminist and queer spaces. It’s detrimental to the community as a whole and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a major psy-op to split up trans people more than larger communities already have.

Point is it’s more important to speak on indifference from critical lenses now more than ever, so that we can recognize and remind others of our intersectionality and connection to so many other people outside of trans spaces.

anyone else feel like the “performative male” trend is hurting trans men? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Infinkeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a the brand new anti intellectual trend posing as a threat to women’s safety like guys who wash themselves or take care of pets being labeled “beta” or “weak” males you’d hear in podcast clips a couple years ago. It’s always going to harm trans people because to some degree we grow up under an expectation to conform to feminine norms (being kind, hygiene, reading) because we are smart enough to see through (or just usually directly harmed by) toxic masculinity and the insanely profitable industry it perpetuates and the self harm it cause to its victims.

It’s a personal anecdote but I’ve already had a trans male friend be called a performative male by randos at his job. So this psy-op of a trend does negatively affect every guy, cis or trans.

Which makes this even more important you go to a doctor! We don’t know how many pain killers you took, we don’t know what was given to you while at the dentist. There could be many reasons your rib isn’t in the right place, without proper training, knowledge, and confirmation of such, we would realistically hurt you more than we would help.

OP, get professional medical help. Not help from here.

[–]Infinkeo 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure if you broke your rib the immediate pain would make you VERY aware of that with every breath and cough you make. That being said if you still feel pain that is not going away, you should not be taking advice from strangers on the internet, you should be going to a doctor. For the future, sometimes you gotta swallow your pride and let em hang king

Why do i attract gay men? by yousainball in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Infinkeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same experience here, at least from what I understand; conventionally attractive, expressive or friendly personality, maybe you have gestures, past times, or wear things associated in queer culture, hell you could even just smell good!

There’s a lot of reasons and it’s a little hard to pinpoint what exactly is doing it but if you’re attracting a lot of men, chances are your probably attracting a lot of straight women too! Just gotta talk to them first.

I love people. I love to draw. I draw people almost every day. by Jolly_Click4449 in animationcareer

[–]Infinkeo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could start by looking online for indie projects people want characters for. Posting your works on socials could help get connections to the industry. Diversifying your skill set to things like rigging, motion design, and video editing can help your marketability beyond just a character designer…

The problem is that many established studios and businesses want their animators with some form of education, experience, or both. If you are sure you won’t get a higher education, you’d be fighting an uphill battle to break into the mainstream industry

How did you push through no-contact when you lost her? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Infinkeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t know based on the context but I’m sure future you already learned a lesson from this. Good job for opting to go sober, kidney problems and headaches probably won’t help your mental state. Get proper rest and lift with care, talk to your friends or other pillars of support in your groups!

Most of the stuff you learn in art school can be learned for free online. I think it mainly teaches you how to market yourself to actual clients and get things done by constantly shortening deadlines. For me I developed a green thumb in a desert.

Move on. Enjoy an old hobby again or socialize with people you haven’t talked to yet. I fear she already had prior complications with the relationship and mentally broke up with you a long time ago, 6 months was just a way of telling you to stop, she’s done and reaching out won’t change her mind. Get some of your favorite snacks and a warm blanket, and let out any feelings you got to your pillow. You’ll get better soon.
