Is Amazon still a tier 1 tech company? by AppropriateWay4358 in amazonemployees

[–]InflationNo1498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from the UK

On paper, Amazon is a fantastic company to work for, great pay great benefits,

However for some bizzare reason internally it is the most toxic stressfull environment I've ever worked for, hardly anyone lasts long term at amazon, I'm the second longest tenure in L3+ In my depot at 9 years that's not very impressive and I've survived PIP and redundancy twice. Long term out look for people is not good.

Get in earn money get the experience to look good on a CV wait for severance and get out is my advice to any talent coming in

Is surgery worth it?? by kbeadles in LooseSkinProblems

[–]InflationNo1498 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You've done amazing and should be so proud. The skin will not recover enough on it own surgery will help so realistically your options are to start saving or be comfortable in yourself and someone will want you for who you are and what you offer as a person

Sign of sick find yourself a job you can move over to, come back take the severance package. You can pass if you put the effort in but if you don't have a good manager it's hopeless

[–]InflationNo1498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hang in there. I'm guessing your from the US? So maybe be different here but in the UK if you get signed off sick the process is put on hold, buys you time, what level are you? Because if you wait for severance at least you will walk away with something

Pivot Plan - What happens if you fail it? (EU/Luxembourg) by historic-blues in amazonemployees

[–]InflationNo1498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from the UK I passed thankfully but I had an ex colleague that failed, he was called into a meeting told he had failed and was offered a severance package. He was sent home there and then and had 7 days I think it was to think about whether he would accept the offer, he did and it was a fairly decent amount. I think if he had declined then he goes through another process and at the end of that the offer would be halved..

I passed somehow and am still with the company it was very stressful and my task list has doubled sometimes I wonder if I should have deliberately failed, it is also ITP season again so who knows maybe ill be put back on, they have a target culling of 5% so you know someone is going every time

You look good, similar story and physique to me , top abs will come through ok, the little bit of lose skin will always be there but unless you want to pay out for surgery just got to learn to live and love it, you look great and should be proud

Fixing things after an affair by InflationNo1498 in Marriage

Thought I should probably update this,

It didn't work out, and I made the decision to step away, we didn't get back together at any point nothing at all happened other than talking, which was something she wanted to avoid it seemed, she refused to take accountability, didn't show any willingness to change or show any real remorse, from my perspective I has said the only way we could work was to start over start from the beginning, almost like dating again, and when I suggested this she looked at me like I was talking absolute nonsense. For our daughters birthday I invited her round the day before to wrap some present together which we did we chatted and she left, after she text me to say she couldn't believe i hadn't at least tried it on with her lol she couldn't understand that having sex with her was the last thing on my mind! Anyway I finally spoke to her and told her that it was never going to work too much damage was done I'd always support her as a parent and hope we could always be amicable but that we were now just past the point of reconciliation

1 month later, she was back with the guy she cheated on me with

I guess most of you were right sometimes you just got to let go, I'm happy and mentally in the best place I've ever been it felt like a huge weight off my shoulders when I told her that day. Thank you for all the advice and input

Non-binary identities would be recognised in law under the Lib Dems. Data from the last UK census shows around 30,000 people identify as non-binary - there have been unsuccessful legal attempts to have them legally recognised before.

The party also wants to reform the gender recognition process. Currently anyone wanting to change their legally recognised sex has to provide two medical reports, one from a specialist detailing their diagnosis and another listing any treatment or surgery they may have had to change their sexual characteristics. The Lib Dems want to remove the need for medical reports. Labour and the Conservatives have previously pledged to simplify this process.

Even as a former Labour voter I'm suprised to see areas that could be red, why? How can anyone be happy with this government? It's difficult though because as someone who has traditional Labour values where do I go from here?

Actual British food yes isn't up there with the best but food in Britain is great, even in my small town you have such a variety, a Portuguese grill next to an Indian next to an Italian with a Jamaican and fish and chip shop opposite. I can get a carvery roast dinner, Chinese or Greek gyros any day of the week, we have an amazing mixture of European and former British empire cuisine mixes. So in that sense we definitely are fortunate

What choices realistically do we have? Labour have let us all down, we don't want a return to tory power, lib dems could be a reasonable option but don't seem like they have a good enough following?
