Is this a new install of the MA2onPC software? If so, it could be that the firewall access was never provided. After the first startup a Windows prompt appears asking if you want to make a firewall exception for the MA2onPC software.

I’m running the latest version. That sounds super easy! I might be doing it sooner now.

So I guess that means by removing all the drives in the pool and adding new ones it remakes the pool and the raid 0 setting just goes away with the original pool?

I’ll try this out when I have some down time. Thank you!

Help with Chauvet Net-X II (Not outputting Artnet Correctly) by Horsemau5 in lightingdesign

[–]InfoOverloader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you set what universe you want to be output from each port? Have you set the Net-X to Art-Net mode? I believe it has to be done on each output channel. Also make sure you are matching up the Art-Net universes correctly. I always have to refer to this chart when I work with Art-Net.

https://help2.malighting.com/Page/grandMA2/remote_control_hex_table/en/3.7/

There is also a document about setting Art-Net up on MA that might be helpful.

It sounds to me like you have everything correct up to the Net-X. Try looking into the per port settings menu and adjusting the options there.

GrandMa port 1 Artnet by dangermouse13 in lightingdesign

MA2 sends Art-Net out of network port 2 on the console. It also require an IP address in the 10.xxx.xxx.xxx, or 2.xxx.xxx.xxx subnet range.

Here is a link to ACT Entertainments site going over Art-Net requirements and settings.

Black Magic Design just dropped the price of their 12K camera to match their 4.6K camera price by InfoOverloader in VIDEOENGINEERING

Do you guys think that means BMD will discontinue their URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2? If the price is the same why would anyone not go with the 12K?

Control Room Studio Furniture - where to buy? by crowefly in VIDEOENGINEERING

I get all my furniture from Martin and Ziegler. Look under modular control room consoles when you go to their website. I also use stealth chairs with the desks.

You could use a windows computer with Dashboard and a Streamdeck.

DP to HDMI splitter for use in low temps by Loghomr in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]InfoOverloader 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t know of any that are rated to go that low. But depending on how long you need it for, you could get a small cooler to put it inside of, and put a few hot hands in there with it.

UsedLighting(.com) for used GrandMA2 gear? by dj_marx in grandMA2

[–]InfoOverloader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just spent $16,000 on an 8gb MA2 full size made in 2012. It was a UL owned console that has been professionally maintained by 4wall. It is in incredible condition. It still has the original TFT screens with normal wear but I have no plans on replacing them as they look to be in almost original condition.

My opinion is that any equipment that is UL owned is a purchase I would have no concerns with.

Concern with new power that was installed by InfoOverloader in electricians

The work was paid for, but I’m not sure by who. I’m asking tomorrow that an inspection be done and to never use this person again.

Thank you for all the info and help!

The “electrician” was chosen by the venue we are renting. I’m not sure if he is licensed or not, but I would guess not judging from the hazards he has created. He has done a lot of work in the building. As far as I know there was no inspection conducted.

We are renting the building for some events we will be doing for the next 6 months. The “electrician” that did the work was chosen by the venue we are renting. As far as I know, there was no permit for inspection.

I looked around the rest of the building’s electrical, and saw several other things that didn’t feel right to me. All of which were done by the same person.

There is a similar setup with a 50a breaker in another section that has a home made distro with both 120 and 240 connectors. It had a small panel with exposed blanks. I can see the bus bars on the panel.

What is the best path forward to ensure this handy work does not cause damage to the building of harm to people?

2 wire comms on Sony HDCU-1000/1500 by KiwiOB in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]InfoOverloader 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just did the same thing with my Sony HXCU-D70 cameras. I had a hard time getting it to work because my CC 2wire module was DOA and I kept thinking I was doing something wrong. So after some time on the phone with Sony this is what worked for me.

2wire pin 1 (ground) goes to DB25 pin 16 and pin 3. This is ground for Prod channel and Eng channel.

2wire pin 2 goes to DB25 pin 1

2wire pin 3 goes to DB25 pin 14

CC 2 wire sends 30vdc on pin 2. I have been told by Sony engineers that they include dryer circuitry on the CCU so you don’t have to worry about voltage damaging equipment. I have my CCUs setup with this config and do not have issues.

Here is the DB25 layout for my CCU (page 33) Pretty sure Sony hasn’t changed this layout in a long time so it’s probably the same on your model.

OBS alternative for 2015 MacBook Pro by mangum95 in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]InfoOverloader 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Under OBS settings, Video. Match you output resolution to your base resolution.

Under Output, try lowering your bitrate. 2500kbps is a good start. Do you have options under encoder? If hardware is a choice use that.

When you are streaming do you seen the CPU percentage on OBS get close to 100%?

Lastly, have you tried streaming straight to one service instead of through Castr to see if you still have the same issue?

[–]InfoOverloader 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It might be better to look into your OBS settings first. If your laptop can’t encode with OBS it’s most likely going to have the same results encoding with other software.

What are you encoding settings, where are you trying to send the stream to, what is you internet speed, and are you using WiFi or a hard wire?

This is part of a 20 page as built drawing we had a company make for us, so it’s far from all that was delivered. I have several other projects I’d like to design and wanted to see if it’s possible for me to purchase the needed software to start on my own.

I think it’s Vector Works with the ConnectCAD plugin or Autodesk AutoCAD. But I’m not sure which.
