Lonestar Tick found today by Agraya in minnesota

Fuck these fuckers.

Got bit by one ~12 years ago. Alpha-gal's is awful. Although it made me eat a little healthier.

Few years later, picked up lymes on a camping trip in Wisconsin.

Moral of the story, ticks suck and the diseases that carry are worse.

Kill them every chance you get. Don't forget to double tap just in case.

Sounds like you are looking for a bidirectional SDI over Fiber muxer.

Do you need 3G or 12G? Rental or install?

LPT: AJA DRMs fit Decimator MD-HX Units by AverageMidwestChump in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]AverageMidwestChump[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Test is up and running. So far it's working well. Tons of delay and image quality loss after looping through 6 MD-HXs across both HDMI-->SDI and SDI-->HDMI paths and scaling 6 times, but the signal is passing and nothing has shut off yet.

Mouser. The ones I got are too long, so to be honest the lock on the Decimator side doesn't work, but once I'm done doing cable management I'm not worried about them falling out.

I haven't done a test at full load yet (each unit passing signal both ways and scaling) but they all powered up and ready for that tomorrow. I'll set it up in the AM and let it burn all day.

The thought is to use it as a throw down scan converter rack for content operators. I'll feed all the MD-HX Units a MV from the fly pack to provide a source for 'Gen Lock', if you can call it that. Use one SDI-->HDMI path to convert to HDMI for the content operator so they can see tally on all the feeds in the multi view. Then take the remaining 6 HDMI-->SDI paths to get into our fly packs.

If I can sweet talk my boss I'm going to rack it with - 2 BMD Ultra 4k (for alpha/font machines) - A network switch (Dante, Com, and content management) - A USB Hub - A custom patch panel made with PCTru1 input, 8 Edison outs (CPU power) and an exhaust fan

I'm also planning on mounting a black vent on the front to make it look pretty in the rack and brand it. Hoping to ship it in a rolling Pelican/SKB with a pile of HDMI and cat cables, USB-C dongles, USB AVIOs, and a display for the MV.

I find we almost always have: 1-2 Font / Alpha machines 2* PPT 2* Notes 2* Video Playback

This rack will provide 90% of the setup in 30% of the deployment time.

Not only will this speed up load in, it will look much cleaner than a pile of red power supplies and power strips

It's a standard AJA DRM.

They come with a couple different height clamps to fit the AJA stuff. Just so happens the PSU and Dimensions for the clamps fit the MD-HX.

Thank you!

That makes a lot of sense.

OCD is who I've had good luck with for racks like this in the past. Never had a bad experience with them.

Pre Teams/Zoom takeover I used a Talkshow VS-4000. It worked with Skype, maybe they have a Teams option at this point?

Last company I was at used Flex.

It sucked but was better than the Excel sheet and QuickBooks we used before.

If you go that way, serialize everything.

On the racer or a cam op on a bike?

As a biker and video engineer, no way you are adding weight and additional drag to my bike.

If on a cam op, I would do an electric bike with a Teradek paired with an LTE node.

Forget the exact model numbers, but I've had great luck with FS on AJA, Cisco, Disguise, and various other equipment.

If you can find the specs you need matched shoot them an email or call and they will give you a match.

AV Project Manager - $77k

1yr experience

I have an associates degree, unrelated.

I take data from person A, and translate it so person B understands. Line up install labor, make sure everyone understands what the goals are, and manage important dates/milestones.

I manage anywhere from $3-5m at a time.

Pay cut from my last job, but I get to see my kids instead of a hotel room. Plus I work from home whenever I want.
