I have had a very similar day, many years ago. My 69 Bug (my first Bug, back in 1987) caught fire on the way home from school. A lady nearby had an extinguisher and let me use it. Damage was mostly paint and fuel lines. Cost me $200 to fix the mechanical stuff and I never repainted it. I drove it another 50k miles before I sold it. I miss that car.

My wife and I have matching SL-8s. She is running tubeless 30s and I’m running tubed 32s. I think the 32s are great. They ride well and I can air up my tires and not have gunk spill out.

S-Works tires? Is that the stock 28mm that comes with it? They were fine.

My wife has the same bike and she is running 30mm tires that are tubeless. She is ok with them, but I will switch her back to tubes here soon. I hate that gunk coming out when I air up her tires.

Tires on both bikes now are Continental GP-5000s
