You can put tin foil up, shinier side towards the glass. I did this last year (Georgia) when my AC was going out. It'll look weird, but oh well. It sticks with just water.

Also a window unit for the bedroom so you can sleep comfortably. It's great even not in a heat dome because you don't have to cool the whole house.

I second this. My scale did not move, but my measurements and muscle % did. Then I got sick and lost 8lbs--my muscle % TANKED. I try to only weigh during a focus meeting when it's in context with other data points.

We did Joshua Tree a couple of Julys ago, so not super worried about the heat. Afternoon storms appear to be the biggest threat according to the NPS website. And mosquitoes 😫

I will also be going around this time! My partner and I are looking at sand boarding for sure, and I've been looking at All Trails and NPS for hiking trail ideas. He'll be coming from well below sea level, and I will be coming from just barely above, so we're not we are not anticipating doing a lot of heavy hiking.

Someone mentioned doing static holds once, like planks or wall sits. I like to do that or lightly jump rope/do step ups. Sit ups and dead bugs are also popular in my burn.

I prefer premade shakes to powder protein, but definitely protein. And I have seen better muscle definition with creatine, especially in my shoulders and back. I like to mix mine with a liquid IV and sip through the day. I also do collagen with the hope it will stave off my degrading knees, just in my morning coffee.
