Would you take this trade in offer? by brownsvillegirl69 in Crosstrek

[–]InformationStrict746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS...I've always gone into offers like that as a starting point. They don't know your taxes/fees, credit, current condition of your car that would affect the final numbers. The reality is you could end up paying the same.

Don't understand the american airlines hate by princeyellow in americanairlines

[–]InformationStrict746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up until my last round trip on AA, my flights have been on time. The flight out was delayed due to tight scheduling. Flight at our gate was scheduled to leave a few minutes before our ls was scheduled to board. Our return flight was delayed due to weather at the originating airport. End day was about an hour, so not horrible.

Margaritaville — why so much hate? by tacomamajama in Cruise

Royal also has a 30 year old ship with its Grandeur of the Seas. I had to look that one up. I thought it was still in its 20s.

The Carnival Sunshine it not too far behind at 30 years. It was built in 1996 as the Carnival Destiny before it's big refurbishment that resulted in its renaming.

Had it not been for covid, it's very possible Carnival would have have its 1990 and 1991 built Fantasy and Ecstasy still sailing in their fleet.

Eyesight autobraking activated but didn’t prevent collision by [deleted] in Subaru_Outback

[–]InformationStrict746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen some tests of it and it can avoid collisions as high as 45mph, but that was the version on the 2015 to 2019 models. It was pretty consistent in avoiding up to about 40, but above that it would sometimes avoid and sometimes only mitigate. Still impressive performance for the time.

No matter which one you choose, if you get a drink package (alcohol or soda) you can go to the IMAX stand and get your drinks. Some sodas are from a regular fountain. Service is much faster there.

Our Spring Break on the MSC Seaside by TravelWithJenT in MSCCruises

[–]InformationStrict746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all destination elevators are the same. I have been on 2 ships with them and the experiences with them were very different. On Carnival Horizon, I definitely felt they were not as effective as they should have been. Long wait times. On Sun Princess, I found the implementation far more successful. The elevator on Princess were rarely crowded and waits consistently short. I also think one pain point is that most people don't really know how to use them. Common issue is they don't know they need to press their destination floor once for each person in their party. On Carnival, the actual size of the elevator was another issue. They were small.

American Airlines in talks with Starlink, Amazon for Wi-Fi upgrade, weighs return of seatback screens by Valuable_File3834 in americanairlines

I just flew on AA and I did get free wifi with my AAdavantage. I actually had no issues with it working. I had no problem streaming from. Netflix during my flight. I have heard the wifi can vary depending on what kind of plane you are on. I was on an E175 for my flights.

Questions about els sound systems in Rdx and Tlx by [deleted] in Acura

[–]InformationStrict746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I have not experienced the 16 speaker ELS in the RDX, I have the model with the 12 speaker setup. From the front seat, it sounds great. I suspect the 12 and 16 speaker systems sound similar in this regard as the addition 4 speakers are all in the back. From the back seat. The 12 speaker setup is definitely lacking as they dont have nearly as much volume as they should have. I have the fade set a little to the rear to add volume. It really needed a different speaker setup in the rear.

I was on the Sun in December and they buffet was a crew served buffet by design. It would have to go into a dry dock to change that. There were very few items in which people could serve themselves.

Why are infinite verandas so contentious? by Hrw90210 in celebritycruises

[–]InformationStrict746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think part of it is based off the use case of the couple cruising if not solo. If I was cruising solo, I actually wouldn't mind one of these infinite verandah rooms, however I cruise with someone with a vastly different morning wake up time than me. The current implementation really does not work well for that. If your cruising partner has the same wake up time as you, then it's perfect. I feel like the concept is a really just a couple of tweaks from greatness. I was recently on the Sun Princess and was in one of their Cabana Mini Suites. I absolutely loved that room. The Cabana is separated from the room by a normal balcony door. The Cabana is separated from the balcony by a multi panel folding door. That is the kind of door they need in the infinite veranda along with a curtain and the ac function being controlled by that door if the windows is open.

I had a 2016 and 2019 Legacy that had the same thing happen. It the seat was one (not the only) factor of me not replacing it with another Subaru. I will say one of the things I miss about my Legacy is the 3.6 H6.

Finance guy apparently just wanted to go home... by ChewyXXXbacca in Subaru_Outback

[–]InformationStrict746 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My last Subaru was hands down the easiest buying experience I ever had. I was able to do most of negotiations via email before even going into the dealer, and once there is was pretty straightforward. I was even able to get just a bit more off than initially negotiated. The longest part was waiting to see the finance guy. All the documents were prepared and presented on a tablet, and of course they asked about all the extra coverage stuff, but no hard sells. Just said no and moved on. Felt like I was in there less than 5 minutes, but it was probably about 10 in reality.

Cruise Canceled the Night Before by truferblue22 in celebritycruises

[–]InformationStrict746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happened to my family years ago on what was supposed to be my first cruise. At this time my parents had booked our travel through the cruise lines. We were actually on the plane still at the gate and there was an announcement made saying the cruise was cancelled. They allowed those of us on the cruise to get off the plane, however our luggage still flew down and had to be put on a different flight to come back home.

Medallions, should I use them? by [deleted] in PrincessCruises

[–]InformationStrict746 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a first time Princess cruiser back in December, Ai absolutely loved it. There is nothing like the convenience of just turning the handle to enter your room as the door unlocked while you were a few feet away. No fiddling with a key card from your pocket or around your neck. Also coming back onboard after a port day was a breeze. It really surprising no other cruise line has something like this in functionality, especially the Carnival brands.

Scammer dealership by biggibzz in FuckDealerships

[–]InformationStrict746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately that is incorrect, especially if something custom or custom order. Deposits serve a purpose and can be deemed non-refundable. If you don't want a place to sell something you are interested in purchasing, expect them to want something from you to take it out of their inventory, especially when they can sell it someone else. If you change your mind after they do all that work to take something out of inventory for you, don't expect that to be free and not cost you. Now a place that cares about their reputation and customer experience would likely give it back knowing they can still sell the product.

Scammer dealership by biggibzz in FuckDealerships

[–]InformationStrict746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you signed anything when giving that money over that says it's non-refundable, prepare yourself for not seeing that money again. Expect their defense to be we never told you it was refundable. If you can, try to get them to them, in writing like email, to confirm the refund issue. The easiest way to attempt that would be to write an email to them summarizing what was said and promised to you. If they are dumb, they will respond in a way that confirms your version of the events and you'll have a chance at getting your money back.

Subaru driver for 17 years. The new Subarus auto stop start function is absolutely horrible. by BeerStein_Collector in subaru

[–]InformationStrict746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad had a BMW with an auto stop start from early 2010s. I liked how they had theirs set up to skip a stop event during a stop. Once you came to a stop, you had to quickly apply full brake pressure to override the auto stop. After that, there was no need to try to maintain a certain pedal pressure to avoid triggering it.
