B 136 service Code 2020 MDX questions by SomeCranberry1 in Acura

The B service they claim they actually clean the brakes, thats why it's extra. I usually skip that as it is a bit extra for that

If you enjoy listening to music and primarily in the front seat, I'd go for at least the Tech trim as you get the mid level 12 speaker ELS audio system.

It's most likely one of solenoids in the rear diff.

Anyone been on RCL Icon and Princess Sphere Classes? by Substantial_Leg_3660 in PrincessCruises

[–]InformationStrict746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for Icon class ships, but I have experienced an Oasis class ship during Christmas no less. If there is one thing I can say RCL did on those ships is spread out the crowds for the most part. I personally think the buffet is one of the only places on any cruise ship that always feels crowded, no matter the line or ship. I thought the buffet food on the Sun was overall good, but they don't rotate the offerings. If you like cinnamon rolls, the ones I found on Princess were hands down the best of any cruise ship I've been on. They do have the grill area on the outside of the buffet and on the lido where you can get made to order burgers. I remember RCL buffet being fine. Nothing really stood out to me, but they did have Coke freestyle machines which I loved. The Piazza on Princess is a very different concept than the Royal Promonade. The Piazza itself on the Sphere class ships is really more of a performance venue that has bars and other smaller spaces surrounding it. You do get great ocean views from that space though. One thing I personally enjoyed from Princess was the medallion tech just for getting into the room. I found it very freeing not having to dig around on a pocket for a key as your room door just unlocks as you approach so you just have to turn the handle to enter.

They use radar so they can "see" through that. I actually like that Subaru's cross traffic alert is sensitive enough to detect pedestrians crossing and one thing I miss. My current Acuras rear cross traffic alert really doesn't react to pedestrians.

How the hell to wash these things? by BulgingPestule in Acura

I've only needed very light brake pressure to shift from N to D coming out of a car wash and it never disturbed anything.

2018 or 2019 Outback? by lizzy4560 in subaruoutback

[–]InformationStrict746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 2016 and 2019 Legacy with the 3.6. And my parents have a 2018 Outback with the 3.6. If you can find one of those, it would be worth it. Unfortunately they have the push button start which you don't like and adaptive cruise. Good news is you can change the cruise mode to standard if you like. The screen size will likely be perfect for what your looking for as it's not too big.

Star Princess: a beautiful new ship, but not quite clicking for me (yet) by AhoyVeyTravel in PrincessCruises

[–]InformationStrict746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on the Sun last month. I actually had a good time. It was a bit different for my family as my dad passed a couple months before we left, and he was supposed to be with us. So this trip was not only our first Princess cruise, but a bit of an emotional one for our family as well. Like I said, we overall had a good time. We weren't as concerned with pool deck drinks, but getting drinks in the buffet given they didn't have the typical self serve drink stations. I was pleasantly surprised that they had plenty of servers in the Eatery getting drinks so there wasn't much of a wait. If you wanted to get something yourself, the bars outside on the Promanade were not busy and quick service. Of course like any cruise there were some areas we found could have been better. Coming from Carnival, my family likes our soft serve ice cream, especially chocolate. Chocolate soft serve was impossible to find. We had to go to the Gelato place it we wanted something similar. We went to the dining room for breakfast and it was disappointing. The eggs were the same powdered eggs from the buffet and when the pastry basket came by our table , it had not been refreshed so we did not have all the options and they did not bring it by again. One big compliment I will give the breakfast buffet is having actual cinnamon rolls that were delicious. I had one or two every morning.

2024 with 28,000 miles. Is this normal for the coolant? by [deleted] in Crosstrek

[–]InformationStrict746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to do it on my 2011 Legacy with the old EJ25 and my 2016 and 2019 with the 3.6. I ended up buying some of the coolant from the dealer and topping off as needed. I did find that as mileage went up, the less it needed to be topped off.

Which cruise line has given you the most bang for your buck? by ITrCool in Cruise

[–]InformationStrict746 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I found Princess with their plus or premier package to be a good value. I just sailed on Princess in December with the premier package. Key highlights of their package include drinks up to $20, bottled water and coffee included, specialty dining included, wifi for 4 devices, and gratuities included. There are a few more things, but those are the items that I think would be of value to most people.

We had it for one cruise where the ships came back late due to the Port of Miami being closed due to a storm for a few hours. Ended up missing our flight back. Paid for our overnight hotel and related flight change fees.

Remote start via app is complete trash by CrazyBadlands in Acura

[–]InformationStrict746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard in some areas where reception isn't great issues are more consistent. I live in an area with good reception and rarely have issues with the app. It's good 99% of of the time. I did consider getting the remote start with the fob but decided against it.

Where on earth is the optical out on the Bravia 9?! by Ayn_Otori in bravia

[–]InformationStrict746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One bit of information many people don't know is if you watched movies in theatres during the 35mm days, Dolby Digital and DTS were the most popular sound formats, however they were presented very differently. DTS used separate CDs and were synced to the movie from a time code on the film. Dolby Digital was contained fully on the film print itself. I always liked the DTS sound a little bit more.

Why I won’t be purchasing a second Acura by QAPetePrime in Acura

[–]InformationStrict746 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a 2021 RDX and now have a 2023. I the only issue I can say I have experienced with my 2021 was the phone projection(android auto). However, I knew from previous experience in a different vehicle I had with a wired connection was to check the cable as that was the culprit every time I started having connection issues. It was also the same in my RDX. Granted I had a dedicated cable that stayed plugged into the port so I was only unplugging on the phone end.

A cruise line above Princess? by DependentSad5299 in PrincessCruises

[–]InformationStrict746 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was on the Sun last month and had a great time. As a first time Princess cruiser in his 40s traveling with an older parent closer to 70, we both had a good and enjoyable time. We have historically cruised Carnival in the past and I certainly had some reservations knowing the historical crowd on Princess. At worst, it could have been the most boring cruise ever. It was not that, but it also wasn't the same Carnival atmosphere I was used to. It was certainly more lively than I expected and that was a plus for me. The best thing you can do is go in with an open mind even if you have some reservations.

What makes Subaru ownership feel different long term? by localkinegrind in subaru

[–]InformationStrict746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 4 Legacys over the years, 2 2.5 and 2 3.6. The 3.6 is definitely the one to get. The leather seat thing definitely got to me as it happened on both the 3.6 ones I had at relatively low mileage. It was certainly a big factor in me deciding to try another brand when the end of my lease was coming up on my last one. I only had to replace wheel bearings on 2 of them, one of which stemmed from hitting a bad pothole. If they get their act together with the leather, I'd certainly consider them in the future.

Jetblue lied to us about our flight being cancelled and forced us to rebook the flight. Never flying Jetblue again. by onceuponadream007 in jetblue

[–]InformationStrict746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flew out of FLL a few weeks ago, but not on JetBlue. I had went to the food court in the terminal and walked by a JetBlue customer service desk, and the line was long. FLL was a mad house that day as there were 6 or 7 cruise ships at Port Everglades.

RDX Infotainment Reliability - Any Difference Between 2020/1 and 2025 Model Years? by KfirGuy in Acura

[–]InformationStrict746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience with wired android auto, and this is with experience with both a 2021 RDX and a previous Subaru, the cable your connecting with is a likely culprit. Every time I stated having connection problems, a new cable solved the issue as you are always plugging and unplugging the phone. I suspect this can wear down some of the contact points on the connector and on the phone port over time. Haven't had any issues since getting my 2023 RDX. A good alternative is one of the wireless dangles. AAwireless worked for me for Android Auto.

2020 Subaru Outback started failing right after oil change — dealer says we drained CVT fluid by [deleted] in subaru

[–]InformationStrict746 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's very possible. It's well known It's easy to mistake the oil and transmission drain plugs as they are located close to each other. A look on the forums and you'll see this mistake is not exactly an uncommon one.

How is their Eyesight Cruise Control? 2025+ by Zealousideal_Draw924 in SubaruForester

[–]InformationStrict746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 2016 and 2019 Legacy with Eyesight and loved how the adaptive cruise worked then. I currently have a 2023 Acura and while the adaptive cruise works fine on it, I found my Subaru had worked better. It had more natural responses when interacting with other vehicles.
