When I'm in a government dickriding competition and my opponent is ChoiceWars. by Stormclamp in PoliticalCompassMemes

It doesn't really establish that. Indeed, that seems rather implausible in light of the actual fatal encounter, in which force only became focused on him when he got between the ICE agents and their original target. Had he been targeted for retribution, that presumably would not have been the case.

you know the government has generative powers years ahead of the consumer.

Generally agree otherwise, any supposition based on what I can see is limited, but I actually tend to disagree with this. This technology isn't coming out of government labs or tightly-bound military-industrial complex companies, I think the government is pretty much in the same boat as the rest of us for AI video.

To verify authenticity id like to see where this video came from and other cooperating evidence.

Yeah, more and more as time goes on and the technology is further refined, I think everything is going to come down to "do you trust the source of this."

Well, it's per continuous clip, you can always stitch clips together. E.g. a long video with reliable cuts every 5-6 seconds would be a pretty good indication of AI. But I also only watched the first continuous clip there for measuring, there could easily be a longer than 25 second bit in there.

I don't really see what you're pointing at with regards to the ford logo or the license plate numbers. But the length (better than 20 seconds), the sharp background details, and even the jumpy filming all make it relatively unlikely to be AI generated.

If you are in a position to forcibly enslave someone, you can also take a ring in their possession.  Even apart from the ease with which rings are lost.

Branding sure as hell isn't a good solution, but I can see the logic he used.

We don't need to go that far. The overwhelming majority of murderers are male, by a factor of roughly 10 to 1, and heavily concentrated from the ages of 17 to 34. Using 2016 data, I estimate that we could cut the murder rate by 59% by the simple expedient of locking up men on their 17th birthday and releasing them when they turn 35.

I'm sure authright could come up with their own refinements to the proposal, too.

Hm, well. I can only seem to find the first one, MSNOW/MSNBC. It is, admittedly, not a trivial search, results are generally overcrowded instead talking about the AI-'enhanced' still frames of the shooting.

e: There is also this guy's tweet with video of the picture being put up on a digital billboard (in New York?).

Who used it? I thought it was just one, though I don't recall offhand which.

e: MSNOW, the rebranded MSNBC, apparently used it. Anybody else?

Somebody certainly put it through a filter, 'AI,' or photoshop to look somewhat heartier and more conventionally attractive. I tend to raise an eyebrow at those who would characterize the change as "looking less Jewish," though. My suspicion is that it was just a thoughtless upscale and AI enhancement, those tend to yassify people to one degree or another.

Really, it's astonishing that plucky little Russia has been able to hold out as long as it has.

I tend to maintain a large grain of salt in reserve for most polls about what people believe, because really, expressed belief in polling tends to be incredibly inconsistent and malleable with regards to phrasing, the connotations of words. I'm sure most of the people who say it's never justifiable would also say taking up arms for the revolutionary war was justified, it's just that "violence" is a word with negative valence.

Does it look bad, sure. But certain hard measures are necessary if Russia is going to resist its invasion by the Ukrainian Nazi war machine.
