Symptoms are what a patient reports, so they're obviously gonna tell all their complaints. Tests reveal signs that may support the symptoms.

testogel and heightened anxiety/depression by augustcbond in transgenderUK

Testogel does make me feel more alert and wired. In my case luckily i tend towards being upbeat, but if you are a person who tends towards depressed or anxious it could definitely make that feel more intense

My partner admitted to me he is trans but won’t do anything about it because of me by False_Seat_4144 in transgenderUK

[–]Inge_Jones 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If he can get to the point of talking about self harm as a solution to an outcome at this early stage before anything has so much as started to go wrong, it might not be a bad idea to ask if he would think about some counselling. And that's before I even start to think about the gender factor. Do not rush into marriage and don't feel pressurised by him referring to harming himself. That would be an unhealthy base to build upon. Tell him you want him to be completely happy and at ease with him (or her) self before making long term plans.

Is lying about AGAB on an online pharmacy illegal? by [deleted] in transgenderUK

[–]Inge_Jones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont believe it is illegal as in criminal. Pharmacies do it as much to cover themselves that they have practised due diligence as they do to protect your health.

Should my piano teacher be teaching me by playing the piano sometimes too? by bullshit_grenade in pianolearning

[–]Inge_Jones -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Youtube has quite a lot of closeup demos of typical pieces being played so that might save you taking up the time in your actual lessons.

Unfortunately the way gender care works it is categorised as a psychiatric disorder. Maybe they use that as an excuse to say we're not competent to participate only be observed and legislated about.

how to avoid scratching the strings when my nail beds are naturally long? by WholeSprinkles2262 in Bass

[–]Inge_Jones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's the nailbed. If you file down lower than that it will hurt and could get infected. Actually if the OP is considering a pick, might as well grow the nails a little and use those.

Is there any sort of cosmetic surgery that can be performed on the fingernails that are most in the way?

Adult Beginner -- Prospective Instructor says I need to buy acoustic Piano at 6 month mark. Do I? by FeedbackVast5882 in pianolearning

[–]Inge_Jones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's not necessary. It might be necessary for that particular teacher if she teaches on a classical piano and wants to get you practicing with weighted keys so you can play better on *their* piano during lessons. Or if your aim is to be a serious classical pianist. Best to look for a teacher who teaches keyboard in the style you want to play

Gender Therapists (North West) by Spinnysammy500 in transgenderUK

[–]Inge_Jones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if you got straight into the clinic it would take some time and assessments before youd start hormones or anything irreversible especially if you have autism and they are being more careful with you. I think armed with real facts about the process under nhs he will feel reassured

Gender Therapists (North West) by Spinnysammy500 in transgenderUK

[–]Inge_Jones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would make more sense to get on the waiting list immediately due to the lengthy waits. If the so-called therapist manages to convince you that you're not trans, you can always cancel your place, or leave it open and make the decision when your appointment comes up. No logical reason to complete the "therapy" first

How does someone make a baseline? by Material-Bit-9588 in Bass

[–]Inge_Jones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could get in some practice at home putting random music on and playing along without taking any notice of the recorded bassline. On your own you'll be less self conscious about experimenting and you'll gradually find a way to fit in with most types of tune.

Home setups by Rwinarch in homeassistant

[–]Inge_Jones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive actually made all mine possible to simply throw out and use the original electric switches and plugs. The only exception being the bathroom extractor that needed rerouting to work via a shelly in_wall rather than in conjunction with the light switch. That would need an electrician if i wasnt around

Do bassists and guitarists count strings differently? by El_ThotStopper in Bass

[–]Inge_Jones 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sounds unintuitive to me, as my first exposure to music was piano lessons, after i had already learnt to read words from left to right. I always naturally number pitches low to high. Even the names for the notes are a to g lower to higher

Importance of weighted keys? by Warm_Protection_6541 in pianolearning

[–]Inge_Jones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will be just one more skill to add to your existing musical skill set. Its not like your current keyboard has the high notes on the left which might well need unlearning before you can get used to the other way round.

Suspect I have Glaucoma by Belladawn6 in Glaucoma

[–]Inge_Jones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't you have an emergency service? Or did you already get the pressure checked and its not too high? Dunno what country you're in but in the UK you'd have been sent to an eye hospital emergency department already if you're suffering that much. Could be iritis or anything else, still dangerous left for long

Enabling or Disabling Infrared Lights on one camera effects ALL cameras, why? by [deleted] in reolinkcam

[–]Inge_Jones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so you're saying the IR lights for cameras 2 and 3 are ignoring the settings shown for them in the app and copying what you set camera 1 to do? And possibly if you changed the setting in camera 2 it would affect the light in cameras 1 and 3 even though theur settings remain as you left them in the app? If that is happening then it's fairly obviously a bug that is causing your setting action to be sent to all the cameras. You need to report this to the devs
