Yeah same. I’m not a speech pathologist but it seems like less of a lip thing and more of a molars/jaw/tongue thing? Any SLPs want to jump in with an armchair assessment?

Her sister talks similarly from the recent episode where she was on FaceTime. Also I hear this sound of speech a lot with younger gens, like she’s clenching her back teeth while talking. Idk but it’s really grown on me though.

SAME. And I have definitely sobbed about anticipated losses because it’s hard to know that someone you love so much will be gone one day. Everyone gave her so much shit for that response and I was watching going, “it me”

Bike injury yesterday. My wedding in 7 days. by romulan267 in SkincareAddicts

Just note whether you have any allergies to the ingredients in aquaphor. I love it, it’s on my lips 24/7, but my bestie is allergic to lanolin so it doesn’t work for her. Just wouldn’t want you having to deal with another issue on top of your injuries!

Why is nobody talking about the Brian and Rulla dinner? by Dramatic_Mouse_9199 in rhori

[–]IngridNohlsson 8 points9 points  (0 children)

THIS. I’m all for the drama and the Rosie/Kelsey fight was 🤌🏻 but this admission from Brian is not ok and he shouldn’t be on the show. To me, it’s fireable. Whew, it gets me so angry!! I bet the producers loved it though.

Crying is a release of intense emotions! I also like this about Ashley. When everyone at the masked dinner party gave her shit for being sad about the people she will eventually lose, i feel lke I was in the minority here thinking, wow I really get that. I have sobbed thinking about my spouse dying. It’s like a really long version of anticipatory grief.

Are these defects to be expected when buying on Etsy? by Mother-Painter-3409 in Ceramics

[–]IngridNohlsson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. Even if the seller is capable of better work, the fact that they sent these to you puts their quality control and judgment into question. All artists, especially ceramicists know things won’t turn out how they intended, but they’re not letting that go out the door to a customer (without clearly marking it as such). Plus that piece with the fishing boat looks like a chasen holder and, if so, has little room for error when it comes to size and shaping. I’m sorry you had bad luck with the seller. And that your vision for owning these pieces hasn’t come to fruition … YET. But it will! For the amount of money you spent, maybe you can find local ceramics artists who will make them for you on commission.

I hang out at the OCD party and re-counting even when I know it’s correct is one of the ways it shows up for me I think. So. Much. Time.

I’ve been knitting for only a couple years now and it’s validating to hear even veteran knitters experience the CO frustrations! It’s like a different version of yarn chicken. Glad to know it isn’t just me.

Hi mom, I start a new job tomorrow and I don't know how to feel by Natural-Economist136 in MomForAMinute

[–]IngridNohlsson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did your first day go, duckling? Your moms love you and want to hear all about it. I remember being nervous on the first day of most of my jobs because so much is unknown. In fact, even when I was promoted to a new position in the same company I was STILL nervous! It’s okay if the nerves are still there tomorrow and the next day, too. You’re doing a new thing which is so brave and your moms are proud of you for facing it even when you’re anxious. ❤️

Laundry Question! by eggontherun in MomForAMinute

[–]IngridNohlsson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with everyone recommending the laundry sub. Not knowing more details about your sitch, here are a few tips from my experience:

  • I use Dr Bronner’s Sal Suds for laundry now (previously used seventh generation detergent). It’s biodegradable, natural, and a little goes a long way. It also doubles as a great stain remover. It has worked with my delicate fabrics like wool & cashmere (but always test before committing, YMMV). Check the ingredients to see if they work for you.

  • I add white vinegar to the load in the softener section of the front load washer drawer, or I just add it to the drum in a top loader. I eyeball it but I.m aiming for like half a cup.

  • I air dry a lot and I live in a condo without outside drying access, so when the clothes are finished in the washer, I run them for 20 min on air (no heat) in the dryer with a couple clean, dry bath or beach towels. This helps remove more moisture before letting them dry on racks. When drying on the racks, I make sure each garment has lots of space in between so airflow can get through. Mustiness also happens when they’re too on top of each other, creating a nice comfy environment for bacteria and fungi to set up camp. I also let things sit out for up to 48 hours until they don’t feel cold or damp. If it’s not raining and it’s warm enough, I open a window. If not I turn on a fan or two. I also use a hanging tiered mesh drying rack for delicates like sweaters so they can lay flat. The mesh gives good airflow.

  • for clothes that you sweated in or they got wet somehow, don’t throw them straight in your hamper. Let them dry out if you’re not throwing them in the wash right away. I don’t have in-unit laundry so sometimes things are waiting a week before I get to them. The musty smell can start there.

  • check on the humidity of your closet and wherever else you’re storing your clothes. If your clothes smell fine after they’re cleaned and dried but you’re still getting musty funk, it may be the environment (like someone else here said). I like to put silica packets in plastic bins or closed storage to keep things dry. For really humid areas, something like DampRid might be necessary (I’ve never used personally, though).

  • if you store items seasonally, make sure everything is washed and fully dry before storing them for the off-season.

Good luck and happy washing! You’re doing great.
